That was his reply.

Wen Zhi swallowed hard, her breathing gradually becoming somewhat constricted, "Then you, you..."

Her nervousness was written all over her face, and Shang Hexing could naturally see what she was thinking. He was sorry for almost losing control last night, but facing her, he really couldn’t help wanting to kiss her, especially when she was so forward.

Although he could now calmly admit to that as well.

"I came in to see you had already gone to bed, so I didn’t disturb you. I went back next door to sleep," he slowly explained.

Shang Hexing asked with a smile, "Thought what?"

Wen Zhi averted her gaze and changed the subject, "What would you like for breakfast this morning?"

Shang Hexing walked forward, "Breakfast will be delivered shortly."

Wen Zhi stopped behind him and asked, "You’ve already ordered breakfast?"

Shang Hexing confirmed, "Mhm."

He walked toward the stairs, continuing, "I’m going upstairs to take a shower. Don’t wait for me, just start eating when breakfast arrives." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"Understood."

Wen Zhi watched his retreating figure, verbally agreeing but not really planning to start without him.

A few minutes later, Chen Jinhai arrived.

He was carrying a nutritious and lavish breakfast, and upon seeing Wen Zhi, he nodded in greeting, "Miss Wen, good morning."

Wen Zhi responded with a faint smile.

Chen Jinhai approached the dining table, set down the breakfast spread, and said, "Mr. Shang ordered Cantonese morning tea today, hoping it suits Miss Wen’s taste."

Without needing Chen Jinhai to say, it all very much suited Wen Zhi’s taste; she loved Cantonese morning tea the most.

Wen Zhi sat down and asked, "Is there any news from Mrs. Shang?"

Chen Jinhai set the chopsticks and dishes in front of Wen Zhi, "Mrs. Shang is very concerned about your safety. She went to a very revered temple in Bai City early this morning to pray for you."

Wen Zhi and Chen Jinhai exchanged smiles, "She is very thoughtful."

Chen Jinhai nodded, "Mrs. Shang’s kindness is well known, it’s the right thing for her to do."

Having arranged the dishes, Chen Jinhai motioned, "Miss Wen, please start."

Wen Zhi said, "Let’s wait for Mr. Shang."

Chen Jinhai nodded, then packed up the bag and put it aside.

Soon, after showering and changing clothes, Shang Hexing came downstairs. He was dressed formally, clearly ready to go out.

He approached, and seeing the untouched breakfast on the table, knew that Wen Zhi was waiting for him. He sat down and said, "I said before I went upstairs, if you’re hungry, start eating."

Wen Zhi replied, "And if I’m not hungry?"

Shang Hexing smiled helplessly, "Eat."

Only then did Wen Zhi pick up her chopsticks.

Today’s Cantonese morning tea tasted exceptionally good, and Wen Zhi had seen the bag Chen Jinhai packed up earlier; it was ordered from a top luxury hotel.

Midway through the meal, Shang Hexing finally mentioned today’s agenda, "I have to go on a business trip today."

Wen Zhi responded lightly, "Mhm."

Shang Hexing continued, "It’s an inter-city business trip. The destination is Harbor City."

Wen Zhi looked up at him sharply.

Shang Hexing asked her with that mention, "Come with me to Harbor City, will you?"

Facing his sudden invitation, Wen Zhi felt a bit flustered. She put down her chopsticks and hesitantly asked, "What business do you have in Harbor City?"

Harbor City is too far, equivalent to a trip to Lin City.

Although she wouldn’t be found there for the time being, she hadn’t considered travelling so far all of a sudden.

Shang Hexing lifted his hand, signaling Chen Jinhai to report.

Chen Jinhai understood the gesture and started, "According to the upper management’s plan, Mr. Shang needs to go to Harbor to attend the fifth Cultural and Tourism Festival Investment Promotion."

Wen Zhi asked, "It’s tomorrow, right?"

Chen Jinhai nodded, "Yes, the Cultural and Tourism Festival officially starts tomorrow morning at ten o’clock. Due to a tight schedule, Mr. Shang needs to leave for Harbor this morning."

After hearing Chen Jinhai’s explanation, Wen Zhi looked at Shang Hexing across the table and asked, "Is it appropriate for me to go with you? What about my schedule, won’t it expose me?"

Shang Hexing said, "You will accompany me to Harbor City as my secretary. As for the rest, don’t worry, I’ll make all the arrangements."

These issues really weren’t for Wen Zhi to worry about.

He said he would take care of it, and he certainly would do so properly.

Hesitant at first, Wen Zhi, upon hearing him say this, immediately nodded in agreement, "Okay, I’ll go with you."

As soon as they decided, after breakfast, Wen Zhi set off for Harbor City with Shang Hexing.

A three and a half hour flight.

It was first class.

Wen Zhi’s seat was right next to Shang Hexing. She slept peacefully, waking up upon arrival at Harbor City Airport.

After disembarking, Shang Hexing greeted the staff from Harbor City and directly took Wen Zhi to a pre-booked hotel.

"Prepare two sets of ladies’ clothes in the original size. The style doesn’t need to be too fancy; comfortable and loose is the main thing," Shang Hexing instructed.

"Okay, Mr. Shang," Chen Jinhai nodded, then turned to leave.

Wen Zhi came out of the restroom. She had heard Shang Hexing’s orders to Chen Jinhai and approached to say, "Actually, I can go out and shop on my own."

Shang Hexing: "I don’t feel assured."

Without thinking, Wen Zhi blurted out, "If you’re worried, you can come with me."

Shang Hexing glanced at her sideways.

As Wen Zhi met his gaze, the next second she quickly changed her tone, "I’m just kidding, haha."

Shang Hexing slightly arched his eyebrows, said nothing, and picked up his phone to make a call. Two seconds later, Chen Jinhai picked up, and Shang Hexing simply said, "Never mind, stay at the hotel."

Chen Jinhai had already reached the elevator when he suddenly received the call to cancel. He immediately guessed the reason.

He chuckled, pocketed his phone, and leisurely went back to rest.

In the presidential suite, after hanging up the call, Shang Hexing said to Wen Zhi, "I’ve told Chen Jinhai to come back. Let’s go now, I’ll accompany you shopping."

Wen Zhi was stunned for a moment.

Shang Hexing took her hand directly: "Considering the time, shopping now will be just right."

Wen Zhi had no choice but to keep up with his steady pace, "Just right? Where else do we have to go?"

Her accompanying him to Harbor City was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and even now, Wen Zhi didn’t know why she so impulsively agreed at the time or what she was actually there to do.

Was it to relieve boredom...

Or something else...

As she pondered, his steady voice reached her ears, "To spend time in a world for just the two of us."

Wen Zhi raised her face, "Our... just the two of us world?"

Shang Hexing’s expression was natural, "Since it’s just the two of us, you wouldn’t mind, right?"

Wen Zhi hummed, "Then can you tell me, do you have any other plans?"

She always felt he was hiding something from her.
