He glanced over his shoulder, his dread confirmed as a massive figure, a giant troll unlike any they had faced, landed roughly 200 meters away. Its colossal frame stood over 5 meters tall, an imposing figure of fury and power.

The creature’s appearance was markedly different—upright and towering, the tusks no longer present, now turned into horns adorning its head. "A High Troll!" Jayce’s exclamation was laced with a mixture of shock and trepidation. This was a danger far beyond their previous encounters, a foe that could shatter their determination and end their journey in an instant.

The puzzle pieces seemed to be aligning inside Jayce’s head. The weird appearance and congregation of the Trolls on the bridge, the fact that they were only 2 meters tall, as well as the pursuit of the High Troll behind them. The most accurate conclusion was that the trolls had been infants, and this was their mother.

As realization dawned upon him, Jayce felt his heart drop. The maternal instincts of this monstrous creature were driving it to relentless pursuit, a pursuit that would likely only cease with the annihilation of their party. There was no room for negotiation or compromise; this beast sought nothing less than their destruction.
