Chef in the Apocalypse

In the midst of the relentless battle on the city walls of Bastion, a moment of awe-inspiring spectacle unfolded. The defenders and monsters alike paused, their attention momentarily diverted from the carnage as they witnessed an extraordinary event.

A massive stone, larger than any of the boulders hurled from the end of the plains, hurtled through the air toward the city walls. It seemed as though a chunk of the mountain had been weaponized against the beleaguered defenders.

Amidst the chaos, a figure leaped onto the top of the city wall with a resounding thud. It was Colin, a colossal presence in his own right. His already imposing frame seemed to swell with a palpable surge of power as he brandished his colossal club, now extended to a staggering four meters in length.

Gripping the immense weapon with both hands, Colin’s muscles bulged and rippled with raw might. With an almost preternatural grace, he lifted his left foot, his eyes locked on the incoming stone with unwavering focus. His movements were deliberate, calculated, and filled with the force of a living battering ram.

In a motion reminiscent of a professional baseball player winding up for a hit, Colin swung his colossal club with astonishing speed and precision. The club connected with the massive stone, and a deafening crack echoed through the battlefield. It was a sound that transcended the chaos of battle, silencing the roars of monsters and the clashes of weapons.

"BOOYAH!"

The stone, now subjected to Colin’s incredible strength and technique, hurtled back toward the direction it had come from. But this was no mere reflection; it was propelled with at least double the force it had initially possessed, cutting through the air like a missile.

Jayce, among the onlookers, stood with his mouth agape in sheer disbelief. The entire battlefield seemed to come to a standstill, a collective moment of awe that transcended the horrors of the battle. The sight of Colin’s incredible feat of strength had left an indelible mark on all who bore witness.

The stone soared back through the air, becoming a missile of destruction aimed squarely at the large Tortoise that had launched it. Breaths hung in the air as the huge stone flew at breakneck speed towards the back of the plains.

As the massive stone closed the distance, the night air seemed to thicken with anticipation. Every eye on the battlefield remained locked onto the incoming projectile, and the monsters’ eerie, red-tinged eyes widened in collective realization of the impending disaster.

At the back of the enemy horde stood a huge Tortoise, an immense and formidable creature with its long neck extended and its heavy shell glistening in the eerie light of the red moon. Towering several meters tall, it dwarfed the other boss monsters that surrounded it.

However, as the colossal stone closed in, a sense of impending calamity descended upon the battlefield. The Huge Tortoise’s massive, plated shell, which had likely withstood countless attacks in its lifetime, began to clatter. As if it knew that it would not be able to withstand the attack.

The 4 other boss monsters which surrounded the large Tortoise, quickly retreated out of range. Perhaps they instinctively knew that there was no way they could survive the impact of the huge stone, or perhaps it was just an act of self-preservation.

Seeing this, in addition to his own shell clattering out of what it could only presume was fear, the large Tortoise was full of rage. The monstrous beast felt betrayed. Not only had its peers abandoned it, but also its trusty shell which had been protecting its life for so many years.

Watching the projectile whistle through the air towards it, the large Tortoise let out a defiant roar, as if to vent out its grievances. With practiced ease, it brought its long head and limbs into its shell and began to spin around in place.

In a matter of moments, a dust cloud began to form from the speed at which the Tortoise had begun to spin. The droning sound of wind whistling came from the jagged edges of the shell, adding to the spectacle.

The logic was clear, a spinning target would reduce the surface area available for the attack, thus reducing the damage of the impact. Or at least, that was the theory. What the Tortoise didn’t take into account, was the sheer force and weight of the projectile.

With an earth-shaking impact, the giant stone slammed into the Huge Tortoise’s shell. The sound that followed was nothing short of cataclysmic—a resounding explosion that reverberated through the night, eclipsing even the previous clashes of battle.

The tortoise’s once-impervious shell, an emblem of its invincibility, shattered like fragile glass before the colossal force of the stone. Chunks of shell were sent flying in all directions, some of them transforming into deadly shrapnel that scythed through the ranks of surrounding monsters.

The Huge Tortoise itself was lifted from the ground by the sheer force of the impact, its colossal form sent tumbling backward amidst a chaotic maelstrom of debris. Its earth-shaking roar of agony pierced the night, but it was a cry that heralded not victory, but a cataclysmic defeat.

The monsters surrounding the Huge Tortoise, once driven into a frenzy by their unknown leader’s dark command, now recoiled in shock and terror. Their eyes, previously a malevolent shade of red, flickered with doubt and fear as they witnessed the violent scene that had taken place in front of them.

Colin stood on the city wall triumphantly after seeing that his skills had resulted in him taking down the troublesome Tortoise. He turned around to the rest of the people on the ramparts, his signature grin still painted on his face.

But before he could say anything, a deafening roar rang out around him, startling him greatly.

"YEAHHHH! COLIN!"

"FOR BASTION!"

"FOR HUMANITY!"

Bastion’s residence cheered out mightily, their morale skyrocketing after seeing such an unbelievable feat be performed in front of them. Their labored breath began to return to normal, wounds began to not hurt so much, and the battle suddenly didn’t feel so tough anymore.

This was the effect of morale.
