Chef in the Apocalypse

Jayce looked at the skill in front of him, his eyes holding an air of desperation as he prepared to reroll it. He didn’t care if he received a decent skill, hell he’d even be fine if he lost the skill altogether, ridding him of any drawback and returning his luck.

There were only 3 chances to succeed per individual item, skill or ability. Not only that, the results were completely dependent on his Luck stat, which was currently fixed at 0. Gritting his teeth, he pressed the button, praying for a miracle.

Black Cat (passive) - Player is a source of bad luck for themselves and others around them. It is advised that the player avoid people before they become an outcast.

Jayce read the description briefly before checking his luck stat, yet it was still 0. "Damn it!" he cried out in frustration. He was hoping that the next skill he received would reset his luck stat back to its original number, meaning he would have 2 more attempts to get a decent skill.

"It’s okay, there’s still time." He told himself, trying to remain optimistic.

Impotency (ailment) - Player is unable to rise to the occasion. Can not be dispelled

A shrill but tiny scream rang out within the bathroom, causing Jayce to look around in confusion. It was then he felt a weird sensation between his legs, as if his little brother had deflated, never to return to action again.

Jayce’s gaze snapped between the description of his new "skill" and his little brother, his face warped in horror. "N-No! My little brother! He hasn’t even experienced anything in this new life."

His hands couldn’t move fast enough, reaching out for the skill and spamming the confirmation button.

Jayce was pressing the button so fast that the system was beginning to beep at him, telling him to wait. However, he did not care, his poor little brother’s life was at stake here. Finally, the words appeared in front of him, they would either spell his doom or become his saving grace.

Mana Affinity (lvl. 1) - The user is attuned with mana in the surroundings and within their body.

Jayce had his eyes closed, too nervous to see the results that could potentially make his life hell within the new world. This was his last reroll, meaning that whatever appeared in front of him would be something he would have to stick with.

Before he could convince himself to open his eyes, he felt a stirring in his nether regions, as if a beast had awakened from its long hibernation. In the next moment it stretched its body, trying to break out of the confines which bound it.

His eyes opened in excitement, looking down at the rising fabric of his underwear with adulation. His little brother stood at full attention, showing off its impressive prowess like a peacock during mating season.

"YES! HAHAHA!" Jayce shouted with glee, uncaring of how loud and unruly he might have been. He resisted the urge to dance, remembering there were shards of glass scattered on the ground around him.

As his gaze moved to the new skill his reroll had produced, the sound of a door slamming open rang throughout the house, before the sound of footsteps entered his ears.

"Jayce! Are you oka–" Lianna stood at the doorway to the bathroom, her words suddenly caught within her throat due to the sight in front of her. Her eyes slowly drifted down to the stiff pole that seemed to be trying to break out of Jayce’s underwear.

Her mouth went agape, before she felt the blood rush to her head flushing her cheeks bright red. Jayce, who was standing akimbo due to admiring his rediscovered masculinity, turned his head to see Lianna staring at him with wide eyes and mouth wide open in shock.

His little brother seemed to be unashamed, even twitching in excitement seeing Lianna marvel at its stature. As she saw the thing twitch, her embarrassment increased tenfold, causing her to let out a muffled squeal and run out of the room in a hurry.

"Ah F*ck, this is awkward." Jayce said, looking down at the perpetrator in exasperation.

Lianna, who had escaped with all of her might, slammed the door behind her and ran at full force to her room which was within the same block as Jayce’s. She quickly opened her door and closed it behind her before jumping onto her bed and burying her head in her pillow.

’Oh my god, what have I done?’ Lianna screamed inwardly, trying to hide her flushed face. Her thoughts were in disarray, as she tried to calm her beating heart. She had originally heard Jayce screaming out and rushed to his room to ensure that he was okay. After all, he had been unconscious for a full 24 hours

She had been so shocked at what she saw that all she could do was stare at the damn thing, leading to an awkward exchange. Seeing it twitch had been enough to snap her out of her inaction, activating her instinct to flee the situation. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Now that she was in the safety of her room, her body felt a little hot and slightly sticky. Initially she thought that it was because of her embarrassment, but that did not seem to be the case after further inspection.

She could feel a hint of excitement between her legs, startling her. While she did have feelings for Jayce, she had no experience with the opposite sex, which was why she became awkward when faced with certain situations.

Her only experience with romance were those contemporary romance novels that she had been forced to read at school. Yet there was nothing in those books that covered her current scenario, leaving her at a loss.

"Maybe I should talk to Jackie?" She murmured, feeling the need to change her underwear.
