Sage turned toward him.

Her violet eyes caught the light from the paused movie, and something in them shifted from distant to predatory as she kissed him.

Her lips pressed against his. Her hand came up to cup his jaw, claws prickling against his skin without breaking it—a reminder of the power she held even in moments of apparent softness.

Kael’s body responded before his mind caught up. His hands found her waist, pulling her closer, and Sage made a small sound of satisfaction against his mouth.

She pulled back just far enough to speak, lips still brushing his.

"I’m not interested in fighting all the time like you and Rue." Her smile was knowing—amused, even. "You two enjoy it because you enjoy it. The competition. The climbing. The proving yourself over and over again."

She rolled onto her back, pulling Kael with her until he hovered above her, arms braced on either side of her head. Her golden hair fanned out across the pillow like spilled sunlight, and her tails shifted beneath them, creating a canopy of soft fur that blocked out the rest of the room.

"As for me—" Her fingers traced down his chest, following the lines of muscle she’d mapped a hundred times before. "—I just love to have fun."

Her hand dipped lower.

"And also have lots of sex."

The words hung in the air as her fingers found the waistband of his pants. One tail curled around his thigh, the fur impossibly soft against his skin. Another wrapped around his wrist, pulling his hand toward her with gentle insistence.

Sage moved.

The shift was so fast that Kael barely registered it—one moment he was above her, the next his back hit the mattress and Sage was straddling his hips, her weight settling onto him with comfortable familiarity. Her sports bra did nothing to hide the way her body responded to the contact, and the thin fabric of her underwear left absolutely nothing to imagination.

She leaned down, tails spreading to cage him in a prison of gold and warmth, claws pressing lightly against his shoulders.

"And that is what you’re going to give me now, right?"

The seductive smile on her face was almost exaggerated just enough that Kael knew she was performing, knew she wanted him to see the performance and appreciate it anyway. Sage was nothing if not self-aware.

"Yes," he heard himself say, the word coming out slightly dazed. "Of course. Yes."

Sage laughed as she pressed her lips on his kissing him again.

This time it was deeper. Her tongue slid past his lips with practiced ease, exploring his mouth like territory she intended to conquer. Her hips rolled against him in a slow, grinding rhythm that made his thoughts fragment into nothing useful. One of her tails found his hand and guided it to her breast, pressing his palm against the soft mound and holding it there until he started moving on his own.

Kael’s fingers curled, squeezing through the thin fabric of her sports bra. Sage made a sound against his mouth—half moan, half purr—and her claws pricked harder against his shoulders.

"You’re wearing too many clothes," she murmured against his lips.

"Then take them off."

Her smile sharpened. "Gladly."

The sports bra came off first—Sage pulling it over her head in one smooth motion, exposing breasts that were somehow even more perfect than Kael remembered. Full, heavy, with nipples already hardened in the cool air. Her tails fanned out behind her like a peacock’s display, golden fur catching the light as if showing off.

Kael’s hands found them immediately.

Sage traced one with her fingertip.

"Mine," she murmured.

Then she continued downward.

Her lips found his stomach, pressing hot kisses against his abs while her fingers worked at his pants. The fabric slid down his hips, and Sage pulled back just far enough to look at what she’d uncovered.

Her smile was predatory.

"Still impressive," she said, wrapping her fingers around him. "I was worried the fight might have... affected your performance."

Kael’s response was lost in a groan as her hand started moving. Slow strokes, feather-light pressure, just enough to tease without satisfying. Her other hand cupped him gently, claws carefully restrained, and her tails wrapped around his thighs in a cocoon of soft fur.
