"Yeah, my computer was hacked yesterday. This code looks a bit like the Trojan left on my machine." Li De nodded, his expression turning grim.

Yesterday, he had hacked the computer of someone in a hacker group chat and was surprised to find she was a beautiful girl. He’d smugly packaged up all her photos...

His plan was to get some rest, then enjoy the photos at his leisure. He also planned to post them on some small website to make a quick buck. After all, that little chick was a real looker, like a character straight out of an anime!

However, when he woke up and eagerly opened his laptop, he discovered that almost everything on it had been wiped!

He completely panicked. He hurriedly tried to check his system drives, only to find that none of them would open.

It was then he realized his laptop had been counter-hacked!

The F drive held over 200 gigabytes of his "treasures" collected over nearly a decade. He considered that stuff his lifeblood!

But the person who invaded his system was ridiculously skilled. To this day, he still couldn’t crack the Trojan they left behind.

"Is there a way to contact that person?"

Johnsen’s gaze was also grim.

The important data on the computer was one thing, but more importantly, now that they’d been counter-hacked, the other party had likely figured out who they were.

If they followed the trail and took them all down in one go, they’d be in real trouble!

"Maybe..."

Li De’s expression grew serious. He immediately opened the hacker group chat and found a profile picture of a pink bunny.

Then, he sent a friend request...

「Meanwhile, on the other side.」

"Looks like these guys are repeat offenders."

Ye Ling clicked his tongue as he looked through the contents of the folders.

It wasn’t just files from personal computers. These guys had even hacked into the systems of some small companies, and there were confidential documents, too.

"So what do we do now? Should we call the police?"

Luo Yue looked at Ye Ling, hesitating.

"Why call the police? Just delete everything. If we report it, and any of the data gets leaked, they might even pin it on us."

Ye Ling shook his head.

Not to mention, hacking someone’s computer is illegal in the first place. They’d never be able to explain how they got their hands on this data.

Ye Ling didn’t want that kind of attention, so he promptly shredded all the files.

DING!

Just then, Luo Yue’s phone screen lit up. It was a friend request.

"Master, Master! It’s the guy who hacked my computer!"

Luo Yue exclaimed as soon as she saw the profile picture.

"Oh?"

Ye Ling raised an eyebrow, the corner of his mouth twisting into a cold smirk. "Give me the phone."

"Okay."

Luo Yue obediently handed her phone to Ye Ling.

Ye Ling took it, casually accepted the friend request, and the other party immediately sent a flood of apologies, basically begging Ye Ling not to press the issue and to let them off the hook.

As big shots in the hacking world, they shouldn’t have been this cowardly.

But Ye Ling’s methods were just too terrifying. He’d counter-hacked them in an instant. They didn’t even have time to react before all the data on their system was snatched away!

The fact that Ye Ling could so easily invade their system proved his computer skills were on a completely different level than theirs!

That’s why they didn’t even think of fighting back and went straight to begging for mercy!

"Girl, looks like the person who hacked the system this time is the same one who hacked your computer."

Ye Ling said with a slight smile.

"For real?"

Luo Yue was taken aback, looking quite surprised.

"This was probably a group job. I blocked him to scare them a little. I’m going to bed."

Ye Ling casually handed the phone back to Luo Yue, then stood up and let out a long yawn.

Having been woken up so early by the little rascal and dealing with all this, he was feeling sleepy again.

So, for once, Ye Ling went back to sleep.

"Hey now, how’d a little brat like you just waltz into my room?"

Ye Ling couldn’t resist reaching out and pinching her small cheek.

"Hmph! Can’t I?"

Ning Ruoxi shook her head, batting Ye Ling’s hand away with a soft hmph.

"Of course you can, Your Highness."

Ye Ling said with a helpless sigh.

"I’ve mostly finished preparing the content for the second volume of Lingxi’s Love. Do you want to take a look?"

Ning Ruoxi said, blinking her eyes.

"So fast?"

Ye Ling was stunned for a moment, then said, "Alright, let me have a look."

Ye Ling quickly skimmed through her drafts and gave her some suggestions based on his own ideas.

"Stinky, I really think you have a talent for creating stories! The plots you come up with are so good!"

Ning Ruoxi sighed in admiration.

"Can’t be helped. I’m just overflowing with talent."

Ye Ling put on a helpless expression and sighed dramatically, which immediately made Ning Ruoxi roll her eyes repeatedly.

’This stinky guy is so narcissistic!’

"I’m going to revise the drafts!"

"Alright now, you’ve been busy for so many days. A little break won’t hurt."

Ye Ling pulled the little lass back, unable to resist poking her on the forehead. "I didn’t realize you were such a workaholic, you little scatterbrain."

"You’re the little scatterbrain!"

Ning Ruoxi pouted in displeasure.

"It’s about time for dinner. I’ll go make you guys something to eat, and then we can go for a walk."

Ye Ling got out of bed and glanced at the sky outside. He figured it was already four or five in the afternoon.

’It’s all Luo Yue’s fault, that little brat, waking me up so early!’

"Okay!"

Ning Ruoxi nodded obediently.

Night fell. Ye Ling walked along the riverbank with his arm around Ning Ruoxi’s shoulders. The cool night breeze stirred her hair, making her look especially captivating under the glow of the neon lights.

He could smell the little lass’s scent on the breeze. As Ye Ling gazed at the girl beside him, his eyes grew hazy for a moment.

Seemingly sensing his gaze, Ning Ruoxi shyly lowered her head. "What are you looking at..."

"I’m looking at my treasure. If you run away one day, I won’t be able to see you anymore."

Ye Ling smiled, pulling Ning Ruoxi a little tighter as he spoke.

"I won’t run away."

Ning Ruoxi pouted, whispering softly.
