Ye Ling was driving the Maybach today, so it was a perfect fit for the five of them. Ning Ruoxi, of course, sat in the front passenger seat.

Which meant... He Jian and the other two big guys had to squeeze into the back.

Luckily, a car like a Maybach is quite spacious. Even with three big guys, it wasn’t particularly crowded—in fact, it was rather roomy.

Around one o’clock, the Maybach pulled up in front of the same hot pot restaurant where Ye Ling and his friends had gathered before.

Since they had been here several times, He Jian and the others had already contacted the owner on their phones to reserve a table, so they didn’t have to wait.

"Brother Ling, the boys are feeling good today! No one’s going home sober, you hear?"

He Jian declared grandly the moment he stepped into the private room.

"That’s right, no one’s going home sober!"

Yang Yu immediately chimed in.

"You guys go ahead and drink. I’ll pass. I have to drive later."

Ye Ling glanced at Ning Ruoxi beside him and shook his head.

"Go ahead and drink. I can drive later."

But Ning Ruoxi just smiled gently and linked her arm with Ye Ling’s. "You brothers rarely get a chance to get together. It wouldn’t be the same without a few drinks."

"Whoa, Brother Ling, I’m so jealous!"

"Our sister-in-law is too good to Brother Ling! I’m so envious. I want a girlfriend like that too!"

He Jian and the others immediately started clamoring.

Now that was a satisfying dose of PDA!

"You guys should head back to the dorm and go to bed early tonight. You can have anything you want in your dreams."

Ye Ling chuckled and gave Ning Ruoxi’s hand a gentle squeeze.

’There was no doubt Ning Ruoxi was doing this to give him face in front of He Jian and the others.’

’Not bad.’

’This girl really gets it!’

"Nope, I can’t take this anymore! We have to drink Brother Ling under the table today!"

Seeing this, Yang Yu cried out and dragged over two cases of beer from the side.

"You’re trying to drink me under the table with this stuff?"

Ye Ling scoffed.

"Then let’s move on to the hard stuff."

With that, Yang Yu was about to call for a waiter.

"Alright, just stick to beer. If you all get drunk, I won’t be able to carry any of you," Ning Ruoxi spoke up from the side.

"Alright then, we’ll listen to our sister-in-law."

Yang Yu immediately sat back down, grabbing a few bottles of beer and placing them on the table.

"Brother Ling, I have to report this scumbag, Yang Yu. He just got the WeChats of like three or five girls," He Jian immediately piped up.

"Three or five?"

Ye Ling shot the fool an astonished look.

’So what I said to him the other day wasn’t for nothing? It actually managed to open his mind?’

"Don’t talk nonsense. I was just making friends."

But Yang Yu just pursed his lips, raised his glass to clink with Ye Ling’s, and drained it in one go.

’Great.’

’Ye Ling figured this guy was really on his way to becoming a total scumbag.’

’Just listen to him. "I was just making friends." "I didn’t do anything to them." Isn’t that classic player talk, casting a wide net?’

"And you have the nerve to call me out? Hell, didn’t you get several numbers too?"

Yang Yu suddenly turned to He Jian, retorting without hesitation.

"Huh? You damn Yang Ergou, looks like if I don’t drink you under the table today, you won’t know who your daddy is, is that it?" He Jian glared.

’Good grief. They started out clamoring to drink him under the table, and now, before things even got started, they were already fighting amongst themselves?’

While Ye Ling drank with the three guys, Ning Ruoxi sat quietly beside him, occasionally wiping the corner of his mouth or pouring him a drink, the very picture of a doting young wife!

For her, just being able to sit next to Ye Ling and watch this big kid was more than enough.

After a few rounds, Ye Ling had also downed about seven or eight bottles of beer and was starting to feel a little buzzed.

He was holding up fine, though; his mind was still clear. The same couldn’t be said for the previously high-spirited He Jian and Yang Yu. The two of them were slumped over the table like wet noodles, their faces flushed bright red.

"Is that all you got?"

Ye Ling looked at the two of them, speechless.

’The last time they went out to eat, these two had been the loudest, clamoring for a drinking contest. He’d thought they were some real tough guys...’

’But in the end, seven or eight beers were enough to knock them out?’

"Yang Yefeng, I’m not going back to campus later. I’ll call a cab for you guys. You can get these two back, right?" Ye Ling asked, looking at Yang Yefeng.

Since Yang Yefeng hadn’t drunk much, he was still relatively sober.

"No problem, Brother Ling."

Yang Yefeng readily agreed, then gave a mischievous chuckle. "Then I’ll get them out of here and won’t disturb you and our sister-in-law any longer."

"Get lost."

Ye Ling rolled his eyes in annoyance, feeling rather speechless himself.

’It seemed like this fool was so innocent back when I was still in the dorms, right?’

’How’d he get so sly?’

’It must have been those two idiots, He Jian and Yang Yu, who corrupted him!’

Ye Ling immediately pinpointed the cause.

’After all, those two were real scoundrels. Hanging out with them every day, it would be weirder if you *didn’t* get corrupted, right?’

Ye Ling called a cab for Yang Yefeng and the others, stuffing two hundred yuan into the driver’s hand as a tip and asking him to help them out when they arrived.

He was mainly worried that with He Jian and Yang Yu both dead drunk, Yang Yefeng might not be able to handle the two of them on his own.

The driver, of course, wasn’t going to refuse such a request. It was two hundred yuan, after all!

Just helping them out a bit at their destination was no problem at all!

"Shall we head home too?"

After seeing He Jian and the other two off, Ye Ling walked back into the private room and smiled at Ning Ruoxi.

’He was very satisfied with the little lady’s performance today!’

"Come here, give me a kiss. It’s a reward for your performance today."

Ye Ling leaned in and wrapped his arms around Ning Ruoxi.

"Ugh, you stink! Don’t move."

Ning Ruoxi furrowed her elegant brows and pushed Ye Ling away. "You reek of alcohol. Go home and take a shower."

"You’re rejecting me."

Ye Ling looked utterly wronged.

’Hello?’

’Is the love gone?’

"Fine, fine, fine. One kiss. Mwah. Satisfied now?"

Ning Ruoxi rolled her eyes in exasperation and planted a peck on Ye Ling’s cheek.

"That’s more like it."

Ye Ling hummed contentedly, his face filled with a sweet smile.

’Sigh.’

’What can you do?’

’My girl is just too cute!’

Ning Ruoxi drove Ye Ling home. The moment they got there, Ye Ling collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep.

Well, then.

It turns out our Brother Ling’s alcohol tolerance isn’t that great after all; the booze just had a delayed kick.

"Hey, go take a shower! Why’d you just collapse like that?"

Ning Ruoxi tried to drag Ye Ling, but finding she couldn’t budge him at all, she was left completely speechless.

’He can’t even hold his liquor but still insists on drinking!’

"Next time this happens, I’m just going to leave you on the side of the road."

Ning Ruoxi huffed, giving his waist a pinch before heading to the bathroom to get a wet towel.
