Ye Ling watched the young man’s departing back and simply shrugged nonchalantly.

Ning Ruoxi spoke up, reminding Ye Ling, "That was Jiang Feiyun, the third young master of the Jiang Family from the capital."

’From the capital?’

Ning Ruoxi shook her head. "It’s not an easy comparison. Ning International is just a company, while the Jiang Family is a massive clan involved not only in business, but also in politics and military affairs."

"Understood."

Ye Ling nodded.

Ning International might be stronger than the Jiang Family in the economic sphere, but when it came to sheer power, they were likely still far behind.

Many of the people present came over to greet Ye Ling. Although they didn’t recognize who he was, they recognized Ning Ruoxi.

Ning Ruoxi’s father was Ning Tianliang, and behind her stood Ning International. No one would pass up the chance to build a connection with Ning International!

Yun Tianlan turned to Jiang Feiyun and said.

On the surface, it looked like Yun Tianlan was doing this for Ye Ling’s sake, even giving off the impression that he was letting bygones be bygones... but the question was, did Ye Ling need him to do this?

Setting aside the fact that Ye Ling currently held shares in Shengding Group and Character Jumping, just based on his status as the son-in-law of Ning International, could Jiang Feiyun even touch him?

By doing this, he could first showcase his leadership skills by "resolving" the conflict. Second, it would improve his image in Ning Ruoxi’s eyes.

Yun Tianlan was no idiot like Jiang Feiyun. Although he did have designs on Ning Ruoxi, he also knew that right now, all of her attention was on Ye Ling.

If he targeted Ye Ling, it would only backfire and earn Ning Ruoxi’s disgust. Therefore, what he needed to do was to subtly build up goodwill.

Then, perhaps one day Ye Ling and Ning Ruoxi’s relationship would sour, and he could make his move.

Of course, Ye Ling could see through this level of "green tea" behavior as clear as day, and so could Ning Ruoxi... But by tacit agreement, neither of them pointed it out.

A smile appeared on Ye Ling’s face as he waved his hand magnanimously. "How about this? One glass of wine, and we’ll let this matter pass!"

As he spoke, Ye Ling picked up three cocktails from a tray held by a nearby waiter.

He acted as if he completely trusted Yun Tianlan and was grateful for what he had done.

Yun Tianlan naturally didn’t refuse. He raised his glass and downed it in one gulp.

Inwardly, however, he was sneering. ’Looks like I overestimated this Ye Ling. He trusted me so easily...’

But while thinking this, he didn’t show it on the surface at all, maintaining a smile on his face, perfectly playing the part of the nice guy.

It was just a pity. He thought he was on the second level while Ye Ling was on the first. What he didn’t know was that while he was indeed on the second level, Ye Ling was on the fifth, looking straight down on him!

Seeing Ye Ling play his part so convincingly, Ning Ruoxi couldn’t help but let a faint smile grace her lips.

She didn’t believe for a second that Ye Ling actually trusted Yun Tianlan. After all, before they even arrived, Ye Ling had been saying how the guy was full of schemes...

Meanwhile, Yun Tianlan, who had been watching Ning Ruoxi the whole time, saw that faint smile on her lips and thought she was smiling because of him. His mood instantly improved.

Yun Tianlan smiled faintly and looked toward Jiang Feiyun.

Jiang Feiyun couldn’t very well contradict Yun Tianlan and make him lose face, so he could only nod along with what he said.
