Ning Ruoxi, suddenly annoyed, stomped hard on Ye Ling’s foot.

Ye Ling hissed, sucking in a sharp breath. With an aggrieved look on his face, he said, "That was vicious, don’t you think?"

As he thought this, the corner of Ye Ling’s mouth curled into a sly grin.

Seeing the look on his face, Ning Ruoxi knew he hadn’t taken her seriously. She pinched him again before saying, "Oh, right. My old dorm mates are having a get-together tonight. You can come pick me up from the art studio, and we’ll go together."

Sensing the disdain in its gaze, Ye Ling immediately squished the little guy’s face, kneading it roughly a few times.

Instantly, Zhao Cai curled into a ball, hugging Ye Ling’s arm with an aggrieved look on its face.

Ye Ling snorted, his face full of pride.

Zhao Cai stuck out its tongue and licked Ye Ling’s face, as if trying to suck up to him.

The moment Zhao Cai saw the can, it shot out of Ye Ling’s arms like a bolt of lightning. It buried its chubby face directly into the canned meat and began gobbling it down with noisy smacks.

"You damned fat cat."

Ye Ling pursed his lips, but a faint smile played on them.

Before he knew it, several months had passed since he’d returned to the country. Looking back on everything that had happened in that time, it felt almost unbelievable.

Ning Ruoxi nuzzled against Ye Ling’s chest like a kitten and called out sweetly, then looked up. "Did you miss me?"

"Of course I did. How could I not miss my little treasure after a whole day apart?"

Ye Ling hugged the little thing with immense satisfaction and chuckled.

"Hmph! You big oaf."

Ning Ruoxi pouted, but she let go of Ye Ling and got right into the car.

Instantly, black lines appeared on Ye Ling’s forehead.

’Women... so fickle!’

’She was so excited to see me just a moment ago, and now she’s calling me an oaf?’

Ye Ling gave a helpless smile and got into the car as well.

"Where are we going?"

Ye Ling asked, turning to look at Ning Ruoxi.

Ning Ruoxi said, pulling out her phone for a look.

But a moment later, she froze.

"What’s wrong?"

Ye Ling asked, finding her reaction strange.

"It looks like the place they booked... is the Drunken Immortal Inn."

Ning Ruoxi said, sticking her tongue out playfully.

"Is that right? Well, let’s go then."

Ye Ling was a little surprised as well. He shrugged, started the Maybach, and headed for the Drunken Immortal Inn.

When the two of them arrived at the Drunken Immortal Inn, a few girls were waiting by the entrance. Ye Ling recognized one of them—it was Zhou Ya, the girl he’d met in the art studio last time.

"They’re over there!"

Ning Ruoxi said, pointing to the girls at the entrance.

"Okay."

Ye Ling parked the car, and then took Ning Ruoxi’s hand as they got out.

"Whoa, Ruoruo, you really brought your boyfriend!"

"Isn’t that car a Maybach? I didn’t realize your Ye Ling was so rich!"

Seeing Ning Ruoxi get out of the car holding Ye Ling’s hand, the girls immediately started chattering amongst themselves.

"You guys, stop teasing me."

Ning Ruoxi’s pretty face flushed slightly, clearly not quite used to her roommates’ teasing.

"Hey, everyone."

Ye Ling, however, just smiled and greeted them politely.

"Ruoruo, it looks like you’re the only one who brought her boyfriend today," Zhou Ya said to Ning Ruoxi with a wink.

"So? If I have a boyfriend, why wouldn’t I bring him?"

Ning Ruoxi retorted, sticking her tongue out with a mischievous glint in her eye.

’Hearing this, Ye Ling couldn’t help but turn to look at the little minx. He never expected this little lass had such a side to her.’

"Come on, let’s hurry inside."

Ning Ruoxi seemed to sense Ye Ling’s gaze. Her face flushed red as she quickly pulled him inside.

Zhou Ya and her friends had already booked a private room, so even without Ye Ling having to step in, they were all seated quickly.

"Ruoruo, since your boyfriend came along today, you have to come sing with us later. No refusing this time, okay!" Zhou Ya said to Ning Ruoxi with a wide grin.
