Ye Ling turned on his phone’s camera and began carefully inspecting the room. He then went into the bathroom and gave it a thorough check as well.

"Alright, we’re clear."

A moment later, Ye Ling came out, switched the lights back on, and spoke.

"Not bad, Xiaoyezi. Pretty experienced, are we?"

said Ning Ruoxi, looking at Ye Ling with a faint smile.

"You always have to be careful when you’re away from home. This hotel seems reputable, but it’s wise to be wary. After all, some of the people who stay here might not have the most decent intentions."

Ye Ling waved his hand. "Alright, you go take a shower. I’ll watch TV for a bit."

True to his word, he sat on the bed, turned on the television, and started watching.

As for what he was watching... it was rather embarrassing to admit.

That’s right. Our Lord Ye was actually ignoring the stunning beauty showering in the adjacent bathroom, choosing instead to watch a bunch of goats and a wolf, laughing his head off like a complete moron.

Ning Ruoxi was quick with her shower, but being a woman, "quick" still meant nearly half an hour. Finally, she emerged, wrapped in a bath towel.

Ye Ling knew he couldn’t stay there a moment longer. He quickly dashed into the bathroom to cool himself down.

The moment he stepped into the bathroom, Ye Ling realized he had been too naive.

The bathroom was filled with steam, thick with the fragrant scent Ning Ruoxi had left behind.

"This is just pure torture,"

Ye Ling muttered with a wry smile.

Under normal circumstances, this would have been a fantastic perk. The problem was, he couldn’t do anything to Ning Ruoxi... which was incredibly frustrating!

Ye Ling took a cold shower, forcing himself to calm down.

Ye Ling let out a long, deep breath before stepping out of the bathroom.

Being a guy—and taking a cold shower at that—he was done in just over ten minutes.

When Ye Ling came out, Ning Ruoxi had already gotten dressed. Seeing this, he breathed a sigh of relief.

’The sight of my wifey in just a towel... It’s just too much!’

"Wifey, won’t you be uncomfortable putting the clothes you just took off back on?"

Ye Ling asked, a sudden thought occurring to him.

"I turned them inside out. It’ll be fine for one night," Ning Ruoxi said with a pout.

"You don’t have to. I’ll just have the front desk buy you a new set and bring it up."

As he spoke, Ye Ling made the call and casually rattled off a few sizes.

After Ye Ling hung up, he suddenly noticed Ning Ruoxi staring at him with an indignant pout.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Ye Ling asked, looking completely baffled.

"You perv!"

Ning Ruoxi gritted her teeth and buried herself under the covers.

Her face, meanwhile, was flushed crimson with embarrassment.

The thought of how smoothly Ye Ling had rattled off her underwear sizes made her feel as if she had no secrets from him at all...

"Knowing your girlfriend’s sizes is Boyfriend 101, isn’t it?"

With a calm expression, Ye Ling pulled the blanket off the girl’s head and said with a chuckle, "Besides, did you really think you had many secrets from me to begin with?"

"You—stop it!"

Like an angry kitten with its fur on end, Ning Ruoxi immediately bristled and pounced on Ye Ling.

Ye Ling hadn’t expected this ’little wildcat’ to be so fierce; she pinned him directly onto the bed.

But Ye Ling didn’t struggle. Instead, he put on an expression of complete surrender.

Seeing the look of a man surrendering to a tyrant on his face, Ning Ruoxi couldn’t help but find it hilarious.

"*Sniffle, sniffle*... you’re trying to force yourself on me, and you ask what my expression is?"

Ye Ling retorted, batting his eyelashes mockingly.

In that instant, Ning Ruoxi felt as if she’d been struck by lightning.

After taking a sealed package of lingerie from the front desk staff, Ye Ling went back into the room.

Ning Ruoxi couldn’t help but huff as she glanced at the package in Ye Ling’s hand.

"I’ll go wash these for you. You get some rest,"

"Go on, change into these."

Ye Ling said, a mischievous grin suddenly appearing on his lips.

"You—you, turn around!"

Ning Ruoxi said bashfully as she took them.

"Yes, yes, I’m turning around. I promise I won’t peek."

As much as Ye Ling wanted to make a risqué comment to the girl, he knew she was easily embarrassed. If she got mad and wouldn’t let him sleep in the bed later, that would be a disaster. So, he obediently turned around.

A soft rustling sounded from behind him, and Ye Ling had to force himself to remain calm. Thankfully, Ning Ruoxi was quick to change.

"Okay, you can turn around now,"

Ning Ruoxi murmured, her face flushed red.
