Mark of Sin: Bound to the Cruel Alpha

Chapter 24: Games

His words hit me like a physical strike. A massive wave of burning humiliation, mixed with pure rage and despair, crashed over my head. I tried to claw together whatever scraps of courage I had left, searching every dark corner of my mind. But my resolve was shattered into useless, jagged pieces.

Every survival instinct I possessed had shrunk into a single, desperate plea: Don’t look at him. Just hide. Disappear.

"What is wrong with you? No! Get away from me!"

I lunged forward, trying to break his hold. I slammed my palms against the granite wall of his chest and shoved with everything I had. It was pathetic. It was like trying to displace a mountain with bare hands. My frantic struggle didn’t move him an inch; if anything, it only seemed to stoke the embers of his temper.

With a single, effortless motion, he gathered both of my wrists and pinned them high above my head. One hand. He locked both of my arms in an iron grip so fierce I could feel the delicate bones of my wrists grinding together.

He wrenched them upward, and my sneakers lost their stance on the asphalt. The horizon tilted violently, and before I could even gasp, I was flat on my back across the hood of his SUV. The cold metal bit through my clothes and bit into my spine, while Magnus loomed directly over me, completely blotting out the sky.

The sheer weight of his body crushed me against the hood, forcing me to register every single inch of his solid frame pressed against mine. The radiating heat of his skin burned through our layers of clothing. Under the sudden avalanche of his touch, my heart hammered so frantically against my ribs I genuinely thought it would tear itself free and drop straight into his hands.

"Remind me, breeder," his voice dropped into a terrifying, sub-sonic register—the guttural warning growl of a beast a second before it tears into a throat. "What exactly did I command you to do?"

I swallowed hard, my throat so parched the skin felt raw. "To come outside... and wait for you."

Magnus’s gaze grew impossibly heavy, like a concrete slab crushing down on my chest. His gray eyes turned black—a total, bottomless vacuum that retained absolutely nothing human.

I could feel his fury rolling off him in suffocating waves, blistering and absolute. I had never pushed anyone to this level of madness in my entire life. I had spent my existence playing a ghost specifically to avoid it. But with him, the rules didn’t work.

"Stop playing games you’ve already lost," he whispered, his grip tightening until my breath caught. "You were ordered to report to me yesterday after your lectures."

A final, desperate spark of defiance flared up deep within my chest. It was the exact same reckless instinct that usually drove every terrible decision I’d ever made. The part of me that refused to break. It ignited a sudden, stubborn flash of anger through my panic.

"I’m not playing games," I breathed out, forcing my eyes away from his terrifying face. "I have a job. I can’t just drop everything and run to you whenever it happens to cross your mind."

I tried to force a note of conviction into my tone, but the crack in my voice betrayed me.

"You will submit to me, and you will do exactly as you are told," he stated, his words carrying the absolute, unyielding weight of a universal law. The absolute law of Magnus Rainn.

I squeezed my eyes shut, trying with everything I had to pull the scattered remnants of my resolve together.

"I need this job... I can’t afford to lose it!" I cried out, my voice cracking under the strain.

"Do you love it that much?" Magnus snarled, his face inches from mine. "Parading around in front of every worthless bastard on the street, shaking your ass in a cheap trash outfit?"

A massive wave of hot shame, spiked with defensive fury, surged through my veins at his words. My cheeks burned with an agonizing heat. He was making me feel filthy, degraded, and utterly stripped bare. But what maddened me the most was that his words actually had the power to sting. He had no right to judge me. None at all!

"You bastard!" I spat, finding a sudden surge of venom. "You have no right to throw that in my face! I am just trying to—"

The words died in my throat. His free hand suddenly snaked beneath the hem of my shirt.

His massive, scalding palm pressed flat against the bare skin of my stomach, sliding upward with an agonizing, deliberate slowness. He tracked the line of my ribs, stopping just beneath the lower edge of my bra, his fingertips dangerously brushing the fabric.

The contact sent a literal electric shock straight through my nervous system. A violent wave of heat radiated from his palm, consuming my entire body until my skin felt like it was melting. I froze completely, my eyes snapping open to meet his. The moment our gazes locked, I knew I had made a fatal error. The gray depths of his eyes held a pitch-black, untamed cruelty—a dark, unhinged resolve so absolute it utterly stole the air from my lungs.

"If you’re so desperate to court danger, breeder, I am more than happy to give you exactly what you’re begging for," he whispered, the promise in his low baritone sounding like a final sentence.

Panic, real and sharp, clawed at my chest. I wrenched against his hold, trying desperately to tear my wrists free, but his grip was iron. There was no breaking it.

"What are you even saying?" I breathed, my head spinning from the suffocating proximity of his heavy alpha pheromones.

His hand slid down to my waist, his fingers digging into my hip with a bruising, utterly territorial force that left phantom burns in its wake. Magnus leaned down even lower, his lips brushing the shell of my ear, his words cutting through me like a razor.

"I will fuck you right here, breeder. You want to know what an Alpha’s cock feels like? I’m going to show you."
