Born in apocalypse

While falling to the ground, a thought appeared in his mind, ’So, the shaman had some type of ability that made other turns mad. But why didn’t the spell work on me?’

Before he could ponder over this and find the solution to the question, he found that he had landed in the middle of hundreds of monsters, and the process of them turning into nothing but a host of madness was almost complete.

"Roarrrr!!"

As the process was at its end, the roar of the monsters began to increase at an alarming rate. However, the roar didn’t have a single effect on Dhruv and he stood still, waiting for them to finish what they were doing.

After all, it was a basic courtesy to let them finish their power-up before killing them.

With this newfound courtesy, Dhruv began to wait. In his hand was his trusted weapon. He was still equipped with [Bloodrage], and he planned to continue using it until the end of this battle.

A few seconds later, some of them had finished converging, and one of the goblin warriors tried to close in further, its wicked grin revealing sharp, disgusting yellow teeth.

The goblin’s try to close in on its target hadn’t gone unnoticed. With a single calculated step, Dhruv thrust his spear where the core of the monster was located.

Before the soul of the goblin could travel to the other realm its blood began to seep into the Bloodrage, healing even the minor scratch on Dhruv’s body.

Knowing that the time for the power-up had been finished, Dhruv didn’t wait for them to advance any longer and instead began to start moving toward them.

While walking toward their location, he spun his spear around, which in turn parried any attacks that were in his way. He wasn’t just parrying; due to the razor-sharp enchantment of the spear, he was able to slice off their weapons along with their heads.

In seconds Dhruv found his rhythm and moved with precision and grace. He struck with a deadly combination of agility and power, sending goblins flying with every sweep of his thirsty spear.

Although the monsters weren’t able to injure him, the Blood Heal enchantment ensured that even the scratches he received were quickly healed, allowing him to fight without worrying that the damage would begin to pile up.

Suddenly, Dhruv began to get attacked by earth bullets, but due to his bad luck, none of the goblin mage attacks were able to penetrate the defense of the Leather Tunic of Unholy Souls.

He evaded their clumsy attempts, gracefully sidestepping earth projectiles. The projectiles weren’t able to injure Dhruv, but all the bullets that Dhruv had dodged, in turn, began to injure more goblins..

As the horde pressed closer, Dhruv felt the heat of the battle rising within him. His body was covered in blood one second, and then in another, it was pure clean, as if he wasn’t in the battle.

Dhruv began to lose count of the number of goblins he was killing every second. Goblins were falling left and right, their numbers dwindling at a rapid rate.

In just five minutes, the number of goblins lying on the floor was more than the number of goblins that were attacking him. With a creepy smile, Dhruv changed his location as it was getting increasingly difficult to maintain his footwork in that mess of bodies.

Goblins followed him to this new place as well, and Dhruv was happy that they had chosen to do that. Like a seasoned warrior, for him, this battle was no different from the countless others he had fought.

His skill, along with the enchanted properties of "Bloodrage," made him nearly unstoppable. T

he goblins, on the other hand, were a disorganized and unruly mob, relying on sheer numbers and brute force. On top of their meager brains, there was this overload of madness caused by their own shaman.

"Talking about the shaman, where is that fellow?" Dhruv whispered as he began to move his head around, trying to gauge the location of the boss monster.

But no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t see anything, as there were so many monsters in front of him. Dhruv abandoned the idea of looking for the shaman and instead began to focus on the monsters in front of him.

A notification rang in his head as the final monster fell to his death.

’Took me more time than I thought,’ Dhruv thought as he looked at the pile of corpses in front of him. Lifting his head, he tried to find the Shaman once again.

Before he could locate the boss, something attacked him from behind.

Dhruv quickly turned around to see who had attacked him. It didn’t take long for him to realize that the attacker was none other than the boss of the village, the Shaman himself.

The boss held a hollow bamboo pipe in his hand and was loading another one of those darts into it. The moment Dhruv saw that the monster had attacked him with a poisoned dart, he calmed down and forgot to remove the dart that was stuck to his back.

Dhruv continued to observe the shaman as it fired yet another dart. This dart was aimed at his stomach. Dhruv initially wanted to let himself be hit by the dart, but something inside of him told him not to do that.

With a swift strike of his spear, the dart was destroyed. Dhruv looked and found that the shaman was once again loading one of his darts.

"Is that the only attack it has?" With a confused expression, he destroyed yet another dart from the shaman. This time, he wasn’t going to wait for it to fire another and was about to attack the monster himself.

Dhruv was about to move but noticed that this time the Shaman didn’t pull out one of the darts from his waistband. No, this time he removed one of the bottles that was hanging.

The moment Dhruv’s gaze landed on the bottle, he knew that this wasn’t the bottle with poison. This wasn’t hard to find out as the bottle was half-filled with liquid, whose color was that of crimson.

’B-Blood... Blood, is that blood? Whose blood is that? What is he trying to do with that? Should I attack, or should I wait to see what it can do?’ All types of questions began to pop up in his mind as his focus remained on that bottle.

Suddenly the liquid inside the bottle began to increase. The bottle which was half filled a moment ago, was completely filled at this point.

When the bottle was completely filled with blood, the Shaman brought out a voodoo doll out of nowhere. The Shaman quickly unloaded all the blood from the bottle onto the body of the doll.

’Something isn’t right...’ Dhruv’s heart began to race as he observed the scene in front of him. Soon, the Shaman brought out a rusty knife from his cloak and was about to slice off the hand of the doll.

"Aghhhh!!"

The doll dropped on the floor as the shout of Shaman rang throughout the village.

Despite saying that he would only use the spear, he was forced to use his spell "Metal Bullet" to disrupt the ritual the Shaman was performing.

’What the fuck was it was trying to do.’ Dhruv wiped the sweat from his scalp and began to move toward the monster.

The ritual Dhruv had just stooped is one of the advanced skills a Shaman gets during its evolution from tier 2 to tier 3. The name of this skill is [Voodoo’s Revenge]. There are three steps in this skill.

In the first step, the owner of the skill would fire a dart without any additives on it. If the dart hit the target and remained on the victim’s body, it would begin to suck blood from the victim. More darts meant better bloodsucking.

After acquiring the blood of the victim, the owner had to spray it all over the voodoo doll’s body. After the blood was sprayed, the owner could begin to damage the doll’s body.

After getting injured, the voodoo doll then got its revenge by harming the owner of the blood, thus completing the three-step skill.

’Man I can’t get this voodoo magic bastard any more time or he will surely fuck me over.’ Dhruv thought as he lifted his hand to stab the hell out of the monster.

Dhruv was about to reach closer to the monster so he could attack with his spear but stopped when he noticed that a black mist had begun to form around the monster.

’Fuck it...’ With this thought in his mind, he stored the spear in his ring and instead began to charge his mana to cast a spell.

’Why the heck all of them had to have a power-up skill.’

More and more mana began to gather around Dhruv’s hand. On the other side, the Shaman was also done with his power-up. The arm that had been destroyed by the metal bullet had regrown.

Both of their eyes met as the Shaman lifted his hand. Dark mana began to gather around his hand as well. The Shaman didn’t take much time to enhance the spell and fired it towards...

Suuuuuiiii!!!

Boooooomm!!

Dhruv’s enhanced Metal Spear destroyed the Shaman’s spell along with his head.
