Born in apocalypse

Looking at the crack that was glowing in front of him, Dhruv couldn’t help but remember the day perhaps even the exact moment when he had first found out about the existence of this crack and how it had changed his life from that moment on.

If anything, this was the greatest contributor to the strength he had at the moment, and he didn’t shy away from giving it the credit it deserved. But Dhruv also knew the time had come to let this Crack rest in peace.

As his mind drifted into the memory of his past, the timer on the clock finally reached the last 10 seconds.

9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1!

When the clock finally reached the number 0, the prison shook a little, just as it had during the second quest.

A pillar of light escaped from the Dungeon in front of him and soared toward the sky. The pillar of light was ethereal, unstoppable by anything in paths.

The piller of light was there for few more seconds and then it subsided after fulfilling his duty.

As Dhruv looked at the Dungeon in front of him, he could instantly feel that something was different with it. He pressed his hand forward, and this time his hand went through.

There wasn’t any shield stopping his hand anymore. Dhruv looked beside him and found out that his two guardians were as excited as he was to enter the dungeon.

His third guardian, Alaric, wasn’t there because he had another mission given to him by his master and was fulfilling that mission. Dhruv had plans to do the third quest with all his guardians, but time wasn’t in his favor, and he had to continue without him.

He nodded toward the duo and finally stepped into the dungeon. As he entered, his mind went blank for a second, and he was forced to close his eyes by some unknown force.

He felt some type of force pressing on his body for a second before he could even understand what it was. The force quickly lifted up, and he felt that he was standing somewhere...

Chirp! Chirp!

"Huh!" Even before opening his eyes, he was shocked by the fact that he could hear the sound of birds chirping.

Hurriedly, Dhruv opened his eyes. The moment he looked around he knew he had entered a different realm because the view in front of him couldn’t be described as anything but astonishing.

He was in the middle of a dense forest. It was a place that was as beautiful as it was lively. Tall green trees with heights of almost 10, 20, and some even reaching an astonishing height of 50 meters up to the sky, their leafy tops creating a green shade that allowed very little sunlight to pass through it.

Dhruv quickly found the source of the sound he had heard the moment he entered the dungeon. A group of unique birds made music in the air, their colorful feathers standing out from the deep green leaves.

Vines hung from branches, creating pretty patterns of life. The forest floor was packed with different kinds of plants and animals; colorful bugs crawled around the fallen leaves.

Dhruv even thought he had seen some type of animal darting in his peripheral vision. The air was full of moisture, and the earthy smell of wet dirt enveloped his senses as he looked at the place which was full of diverse life.

Dhruv couldn’t believe that he was standing on an island just a second ago.

’Is this really a dungeon from where the monsters were coming?’ As he looked around Dhruv had a hard time believing this fact.

While he was enjoying the view, Vexar appeared in front of him, and from the look on his face, Dhruv was sure that Vexar was experiencing the same thing he had just gone through.

After that, Azarex’s undead beings began to enter the forest, but there was no shock on their faces it was the same, blank and lifless.

When almost a hundred of Azarex’s undead entered the forest, the line of the undead stopped, and then Azarex entered the forest himself.

Azarex couldn’t let his favorite undead come into the dungeon because the golem couldn’t enter the prison due to its massive size. Despite the absence of his favorite undead, there was a hint of shock on his skull as well.

Both Vexar and Azarex had already changed to their demon form.

After waiting for another few seconds and finding that no one was entering the dungeon anymore, Dhruv looked behind and found that the place from where he had entered now had a portal with the same appearance as in the prison.

’Is there no limit to the number of people entering the dungeon at one time? Heh heh, of course, there would be no limit, or else it wouldn’t it be hypocritical to let humans enter the dungeon in limited numbers while the monsters could get out of it in waves,’ Dhruv thought as he looked at the portal.

Turning around, Dhruv was planning to venture into the forest to assess what he could expect from it. But before he took another step, he realized a crucial thing: his inability to remember routes.

Knowing his ability to find routes very well, Dhruv quickly brought forth his map and looked at it. Dhruv found that for a second, the map had glitched out, but it quickly recovered and began to show the empty space without any marking as of the moment.

The only change in the map was that, whereas earlier the background of the map showed as blue, it now showed as green. There was a slightly greener dot representing him on the map.

Happy with his arrangement, Dhruv finally began to move deeper, or perhaps even out of the forest. No more than 100 meters away from his original location, he was forced to stop his steps when he saw a creature he knew tooo much about.

Fifty meters away from him, in the straight line, a group of five hideous, green-skinned, half-meter-tall monsters were walking around with clubs in their hands.

’So, this is a goblin Dungeon...’
