Born in apocalypse

’Interesting, so this thing isn’t purchased from the cosmos or obtained from anything like that, and there is someone in this dungeon who can craft items,’ Dhruv thought as he tried to figure out the situation.

He came to this conclusion because he knew that anything crafted by humans wouldn’t show any item description when using the Glasses. For example, if Dhruv looked at a pen through his glasses, in theory, he should at least know the name of the item, but nothing appears when inspecting such an item.

So he had a hypothesis that anything made by anyone can’t have a description, or there is something that has to be met for it to become an item.

This hypothesis of his was further strengthened by the fact that when he had found some pieces of weapons on the first floor, there wasn’t any description on them as well. When carefully inspecting them, they even looked like something that was made by an amateur and not a professional.

Dhruv didn’t waste his time trying to figure out who it was that was crafting items for the goblins, as he was going to have all his answers after conquering the dungeon.

Although he didn’t know the name of the item. He had a subtle suspicion about what this item could be.

’This color and this type of cautiousness with this thing. The most probable item that fits these categories is poison,’ Dhruv thought as he inspected the slightly lime-colored liquid.

He wanted to taste the poison to check if this thing really is poison or not, And how will he find that out. Well if the taste will fell familiar to that of a soap then it will be confirmed that it is indeed poison.

’At second thought, I shouldn’t put anything random in my mouth, right?’ Dhruv frowned at the idea of drinking this suspicious liquid.

He didn’t want to drink the poison, but he knew there weren’t any guinea pigs around, and even if there were any, he didn’t want to waste that much time. Dhruv cautiously opened the cap of the bottle and brought the liquid close to his nose.

’It doesn’t smell that bad,’ Dhruv thought as he felt the scent of the poison entering his nostrils. He even found the scent quite relaxing.

He quickly stopped smelling the liquid and extended his tongue out of his mouth, letting a drop of the liquid fall onto it. Afterward, he retracted his tongue into his mouth and tasted the liquid, quickly realizing that it was indeed poison.

’So it is poison. Ummm! Could that mean there is poison on the darts as well?’ Dhruv thought as he looked at the area where the shield had been hanging. Due to the grass being quite tall, Dhruv couldn’t find the darts easily, so he looked at Vexar.

"Vexar, go and fetch me that dart," Dhruv ordered.

Following the order, Vexar quickly walked toward the area where the dart had fallen after bouncing from the shield. Within half a minute, he managed to find the dart and brought it back to Dhruv.

When Dhruv got his hand on the dart, he quickly looked at the tip of it closely. The moment his gaze landed on the tip, he found out that there was some soil sticking to the pointed side, or in simpler terms, at the tip of the dart.

This clearly meant that there was some liquid or something like that had been applied on its tip before firing it.

’It had added poison to the tip as well. So, they even know how to use poison in their favor,’ Dhruv was amused to learn about this.

He didn’t know what to feel about this. On one side, he felt safe about his future evolution after finding out that monsters weren’t as simple and mindless as they seemed. On the other side, it made hunting monsters that much more difficult.

Dhruv didn’t think about all this for long as the more he thought, the more his brain felt like melting.

He simply focused on the current problem and thought, ’What is the name of this species?’

He tried to guess the monster’s species name, but no matter how much he thought, he couldn’t come up with any decent names. He quickly gave up trying to figure this out on his own and looked at the green monster in front of him.

’I guess there is no other option.’ With this thought in his mind, he lifted his hand and grabbed the neck of the monster.

After applying some force, he was able to snap the neck of the monster, killing it on the spot. The moment he killed it, a sound rang in his ear. This sound had brought the answer he was searching for over the past two minutes.

[You have killed the monster: Juvenile Goblin Shaman.]

[You have earned 1000 CC.]

[You have earned EXP.]

’Shaman!? At just tier 2, it had started his journey of becoming a shaman.’ Dhruv thought as he was quite impressed by this.

He couldn’t help but look at the corpse of the weak goblin which was lying on the ground. He couldn’t find anything unique about this monster that implied it could have this unique class.

’Once again, I’m making an assumption. Maybe the path of the shaman isn’t that unique at all. Maybe it’s common, after all; they only use dark magic, sacrifice, and ritual-type stuff,’ Dhruv thought as he remembered the descriptions of shamans from his knowledge of manga and novels.

’So at tier 2, it was a Juvenile Goblin Shaman. Does that mean at the next tier, it would evolve into an Adult Goblin Shaman or just Goblin Shaman? Could the boss monster of this floor be from this evolution line?’ Lots and lots of questions began to pop up in Dhruv’s head the moment he got an answer for one.

Once again, he thought that the answer he was searching for would automatically be answered, and there was no need to think about them this hard. With this thought, he continued his walk.

As he continued to go further north, a weird feeling began to creep over him as he suddenly realized something, "If goblins on this floor will be shamans, then is it safe to bring others down here?" Dhruv thought.

Dhruv wanted to bring people here to make them feel a little more challenged, but deep down, he also knew that the people of the island were still in the basics of fighting, except for the tribe members who were hunters before the evolution.

And this floor is exceptionally dangerous for them because there is a danger of poison here. On the first floor, even someone who is gravely injured could be healed with multiple healing potions, but the problem here is that there weren’t any antidote potions or something like that available in the store.

Dhruv had one potion that could heal them even when they were suffering from poison, but the potion he had couldn’t be used on many, and thus, he didn’t risk the lives of his people just to give them some fighting experience.

Dhruv frowned when he realized that he was thinking about the welfare of his people more than he was supposed to be, but he pushed this away, thinking it was normal for this feeling to appear after living with them all this time.

At first, Dhruv didn’t care about them, but the more time he spent with them, the more they began to have an effect on him. Now he was once again at the stage where he could lose everything just for making a single mistake. A mistake he wasn’t going to make.

Sigh!!

Sighing deeply, Dhruv announced, "We are going to conquer this floor of the map today. You can kill as much as you can." Dhruv declared.

Before they could say anything, Dhruv added, "Vexar, be careful of their poison darts."

After traveling for another ten minutes, they finally found some signs of civilization in front of them. There was a goblin village ahead.

Dhruv paused, and so did the others. Looking at the village in front of him, he was sure that the design of this village was very similar to that of the first-floor one. The difference was that it was much larger and looked more complete compared to the first floor.

The outer walls of the village were made entirely out of wood, and just from a single glance, Dhruv knew that those wooden boundaries were strong, maybe not very strong, but strong nonetheless.

Another unique feature of this village was the numerous skulls of beasts hanging from the wooden boundaries. The arrangement of the skulls was in a perfect sequence as if they were protecting the village from bad omens or maybe even casting bad omens on others.

Whatever the purpose of the skulls was, Dhruv wasn’t afraid at all. He looked in front of him one more time, then turned to face the other duo.

"I will enter from the front gate, Alaric, you go and enter from the back door," Dhruv said. He looked at Vexar and continued, "You can enter from wherever you want."

"As you wish, Master," they both said in unison. Just after finishing these words, Alaric dived into the shadow while Vexar turned and began to run to the left side of the village, planning to enter in the middle from the left side.

"Shall we begin?" Dhruv whispered as an evil creepy smile appeared on his face.
