Apocalypse Escape: Day One of Survival

Annie and her group were in a terrible mood.

They just wanted to stay safe and sound at the Song Family Pavilion, not get dragged all over the place by that fierce woman.

’Go to Su City? Who the hell knows what kind of unknown dangers are waiting for them there.’

’They’d finally gotten their wish for the fierce woman to be feeling unwell. Surely they could find a chance to escape now, right?’

But as it turned out, Captain Gu had stayed behind.

They had all seen the power of Captain Gu’s lightning as it annihilated zombies. How could they possibly dare to make a reckless move?

Song You’ai’s favorability toward this handsome young man was shooting straight up.

’What a good young man,’ she thought. ’If he hadn’t volunteered to stay and help, it would’ve been really hard for an ordinary person like me to keep Annie and her group in line.’

Soon, twenty young men emerged from the gas station, carrying buckets of all sizes.

"Let’s go. There are a bunch of zombies in the convenience store next door, but they’re trapped behind the glass doors and can’t get out for now." Lu Wei secured the various buckets with rope and loaded them into their vehicle.

"Auntie, let’s get out of here first. We can let the young lady advance in the car on the way."

"Yes, yes, of course. Let’s go now," Song You’ai nodded eagerly, hurrying Xiao Huang Mao to get into the car.

The group sped away from the gas station.

On the wide road, vehicles were strewn about haphazardly. Some were even overturned, having crashed onto other cars, and were burned down to their empty frames.

Song You’ai gazed out the window at the desolate streets, a bitter sorrow welling up in her heart.

The car hadn’t been driving for long before it stopped again. The road ahead was completely blocked by vehicles strewn every which way.

Song You’ai poked her head out to look. Over by Captain Gu’s vehicle, seven or eight young men jumped out, rolled up their sleeves, and started moving the cars blocking the road.

Watching each of them lift a car with ease, Song You’ai was left speechless.

’Isn’t Mom, that sweet, naive woman, being a little too friendly with her nickname for Captain Gu?’

"Xiao Huang Mao, what’s your name?" Xie Ning asked, glancing at the young man who was driving with intense focus, his eyes fixed on the road.

"Ms. Ning, you can just call me Xiao Yuan. My name is Yuan Kaifa."

Xie Ning nodded. "Xiao Yuan, have you ever been to Su City before?"

"He’s definitely never been here! He’s still a brand-new driver!"
