Apocalypse Escape: Day One of Survival

"You’ve been watching too much TV. Has it fried your brain?" Xie Ning shot him a mocking glance.

"Did you really think that by grabbing this kid’s neck, you could make me do whatever you want? That if you tell me to stop, I’ll stop? That if you tell me to kill myself, I’ll kill myself?"

"Who do you think you are?"

The man with the large gold chain was so stunned by her words that he was left speechless, unable to think of a single thing to say in response.

Meanwhile, Xiao Huang Mao had already scrambled to his feet. Moving with incredible speed, he removed the ropes from the mother and son and tied them tightly around the hands of a bare-chested brute.

"Xiao Huang Mao!" The man with the gold chain, Wang Han, was so furious with his cousin he could have died.

"I’m sorry, bro," Xiao Huang Mao whimpered. "If I don’t do as Ms. Xie says, m-my head’s going to be blown open."

The sharp spike was still stuck in his hand. Even though it was only a few centimeters long, it hurt like hell, and he didn’t dare touch it.

Tears streaming down her face, Zhu Huizhen turned and saw that her mother-in-law and husband had been untied. She rushed over, shouting, "Mom! Honey! What do we do now?"

"You’re Old Song’s granddaughter, Xie Ning, aren’t you?" Granny Liu hastily pushed her daughter-in-law’s hands away and rushed up to Xie Ning. "I’m a close friend of your grandmother’s—Granny Liu."

"You must remember me. Your grandma sent you to save us, didn’t she?"

"No," Xie Ning replied heartlessly. She brushed aside Granny Liu’s hand and ran toward Wang Han.

The man with the gold chain was startled and quickly tightened his grip on the child’s neck. "Don’t you come any closer! I’m warning you—OW!"

Suddenly, someone bit his leg hard. Cursing, Wang Han glanced down and kicked out at Zhu Huizhen.

At the same time, Zhu Huizhen’s husband lunged forward, wrapping his arms around Wang Han’s thick waist.

Furious, Wang Han activated his Strength Ability. Just as he was about to throw off Zhu Huizhen’s husband, a Metal Spike pierced through his shoulder blade.

"AHH!"

Four or five Metal Spikes shot out from Xie Ning’s fingertips, punching several bloody holes in Wang Han’s arms and legs.

Wang Han immediately lost his grip on the child, who started to fall, wailing loudly.

In the nick of time, a curving Metal Spike wrapped firmly around the child’s waist, leaving it dangling in mid-air.

Zhu Huizhen’s husband looked up and quickly caught the child. His eyes filled with tears of relief.

Xie Ning shot a cold glance at Granny Liu’s family, then walked over to Wang Han, who was writhing and howling on the ground.

Wang Han’s limbs were now useless, crippled by her attacks. He had immense strength but no way to use it. All he could do was glare at her, his eyes wide as saucers.

Seeing this, Xiao Huang Mao rushed over with a sycophantic grin. "Ms. Xie, Ms. Xie, there’s no need for this. Really! Whatever you want, just take it. It’s all yours. Everything is yours. We’ll give it all to you."

Just then, Ji Taixian and Wang Zongxuan ran out of the main house, waving to her. "Ms. Ning! It’s confirmed, no one’s upstairs."

Xie Ning glanced at the two of them.

’Looks like those two have already swept the entire house, upstairs and down. They probably found a good haul.’

"Drag this man to the village entrance and tie him up," Xie Ning ordered calmly, pointing at Wang Han, who lay on the ground glaring at her with hatred.

"Can your air gun pierce a zombie’s skull?"

"Ms. Xie, Ms. Xie, what are you going to do? What are you people doing?" Xiao Huang Mao was on the verge of tears.

"What do you think happens when you tie someone up at the village entrance?" Xie Ning turned and gave him a chilling smile.

’She’s a straight-up villainess!’ Xiao Huang Mao’s pupils contracted.
