Apocalypse Escape: Day One of Survival

Cheng Zihao’s face instantly flushed red with anger as he pointed a finger at Xie Ning. "Miss, you’ve gone too far!"

Xie Ning’s gaze turned sharp as she shot her hand out and seized the man’s wrist.

An immense force shot through her grip. The pain was so intense that Cheng Zihao’s pupils dilated, and cold sweat broke out across his entire head.

Xie Ning’s lips curled into a cold smile, her eyes flashing with a piercing light. "Keep spouting nonsense, and I can do something much worse. For example, drag you out to feed the zombies~"

’Accuse me of hitting people? Then I’ll show them what hitting really looks like.’

’Say I don’t give people a chance to speak? Then I’ll make sure they can’t speak at all.’

’Call me unreasonable? Then I’ll have to do something far more unreasonable, just to prove I wasn’t wrongly accused...’

If not for Professor Li’s presence, Gu Chen would have nearly laughed out loud.

Professor Li was startled and quickly intervened. "Young lady, it’s just a small misunderstanding. Whatever you do, don’t cripple Cheng Zihao’s hand."

Xie Ning tossed the man’s hand aside, a faint, cold smile playing on her lips. "Tsk. If you want to play the hero in front of a pretty lady, you’d better make sure you actually are one first."

Cheng Zihao’s face was beet red. He wished a hole would open up in the ground for him to crawl into.

Knowing the woman before him was not someone to be trifled with, he didn’t dare say another word. He grabbed the sobbing Shi Ailing and turned to leave.

Shi Ailing, however, was indignant. "She just watched and did nothing, and she’s so vicious—she’s not even human! What’s wrong with people complaining a little? Why did she have to start hitting people?"

Professor Li looked at Xie Ning with a stern expression. "Cheng Zihao is a new research specialist at our agricultural research institute and a very talented individual. Xie Ning turned her head, only to see her mother, that sweet simpleton, nodding her head as fast as a drumroll.
