Kira’s POV
I tried to free myself from under his feet, but I couldn’t, he had rested all his weight on his leg, and the ground was beginning to crack.
I felt weak.
Began to brainstorm on how I was going to help myself, how I would free myself from him.
While I was thinking, it suddenly dawned on me that I had powers that no one possessed.
I closed my eyes and began to tap into my telekinetic abilities; after a short while, his legs began to levitate.
But before this happened
I closed my eyes and exhaled deeply, shutting out the chaos of battle. I could feel the weight of the golden-eyed wolf pinning me down, his strength pressing me deeper into the cracked ground.
But I wasn’t just an ordinary warrior I was the moonkeeper. It would be a shame if I allowed myself to be defeated so easily. I had a power no one else possessed.
A power I was barely able to understand, thanks to the traitor Mira. I understood the power to some extent.
My heart began to beat faster as I tried to reach into my inner power, past the exhaustion, past the pain into the well of energy buried within my soul. It pulsed like a dormant storm waiting to be unleashed.
I concentrated, summoning the telekinetic force I knew was within me
Initially, it was merely a subtle shake, hardly noticeable, yet I sensed it growing stronger, coursing like flames through my veins. A wave of unrefined energy pulsed under my skin, the atmosphere around me changing in reaction.
The earth shook underneath us, and I felt the golden-eyed wolf pause for an instant. He experienced it as well.
That moment of doubt was everything I needed. I concentrated, urging the strength inside me to rise. With a quiet exertion of my intent, I sent a surge of energy outward. His leg twitched unexpectedly, causing his hold to loosen slightly. I embraced the opportunity, applying more force, allowing the energy to surge within me—irresistible, unquestionable.
I was no longer confined. I wasn’t fragile.
It was time for me to fight back.
As soon as his hold loosened, I acted without delay. Taking a deep breath, I focused all my energy on a single forceful push, sending him away from me with an unseen power. He stumbled backwards, his golden eyes enlarging in shock as he tried to steady himself. I didn’t provide him the opportunity.
I leapt to my feet, my body buzzing with energy, a storm brewing within me. He charged at me, claws directed toward my neck, but I quickly dodged it swiftly. Before he had a chance to recover, I attacked. My energy struck out like an invisible whip, hitting his chest and pushing him backwards. He smashed into a rock with a nauseating thud
I moved forward; i could taste the flavour of combat on my tongue. "You’re not as strong anymore, are you?" I mocked, observing him as he lifted himself, trembling with fury.
He emitted a low growl, his muscles tightening as if gearing up for another attack, but I was prepared. The fear that had engulfed me moments earlier vanished, replaced by a fire igniting deep inside.
This battle was no longer solely about survival. It was about demonstrating that I was greater than they ever imagined I could become.
The wolf with golden eyes growled, brushing off the blow as if it meant nothing. His radiant eyes fixed on mine, brimming with fresh anger. In a flash, he sprang, quicker than ever. I had hardly any time to respond as he lashed out, his claws brushing against my arm. The force propelled me backward, yet I chose not to be shaken.
He didn’t relent. Before I had a chance to respond, he hit me again, his actions unyielding. He faked left, then turned right, crashing into me with all his strength. Saliva mixed with blood was expelled from my mouth as I fell to the ground, the soil digging into my back. In the blink of an eye he was on me, fangs out, just centimetres from my neck.
I suddenly created a shield of energy, but he pressed against it, his muscles straining, his incredible strength almost overpowering me. Cracks appeared in my energy barrier. He felt my difficulty and pushed more forcefully, pushing my arms backwards, causing the energy shieldto chatter, his weight holding me down.
His growl was low, menacing. "You’re not as powerful as you think you are, Moonkeeper."
I clenched my jaw, my thoughts swirling. He was more powerful than I anticipated—but I wasn’t finished yet. If sheer strength failed, I would need to outwit him, this time I would fight with wisdom.
A gradual, rebellious smile formed on my lips as I locked eyes with his radiant golden gaze. He believed he had me cornered. He believed that sheer force would suffice to overpower me. However, he misjudged my abilities. He undervalued what I had turned into.
I ceased to fight, allowing my body to relax under his pressure. He grinned, convinced I had ultimately surrendered. His hold relaxed just a bit—that was all I required. In an unexpected surge, I unleashed a wave of telekinetic energy directly into his chest. He was torn from me, thrown backwards by the sheer force of my strength. He collided with a tree with a horrifying snap, bark shattering all around him.
I jumped up, clearing the blood from my lip. "Isn’t it quite challenging?" I mocked, my tone unwavering even with my racing heart.
The wolf snarled, shrugging off the blow, yet I noticed it—uncertainty glimmering in his eyes. This was unexpected for him. He didn’t anticipate that I would respond with the same, if not more, intensity.
I lifted my hands, energy pulsing at my fingertips. "Your mistake" I remarked, my tone steady but lethal, "was believing I’d allow you to win."
The golden-eyed wolf staggered to his feet, shaking off the impact as if it were nothing. But something had changed. His gaze locked onto mine, and for the first time, I saw something beyond the raw aggression—recognition.
What kind of a creature is he?
He looked like he was hit by nothing, he had just hit is back on a tree. There was not even a single scratch on him. The little scrach of his face I watched it closed up.
A slow, unsettling grin spread across his face. "So it’s true," he murmured, his voice laced with dark amusement. "You’re not just some wolf with a fancy title."
My breath hitched. He wasn’t surprised by my power—he had been expecting it. Studying it.
’Damn you mira’
She trained me, she helped me so she must have told them everything about my powers. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
I should have known this was going to happen.
"You have no idea what you are, do you?" he continued, taking a slow step forward. "What your power means... why it even exists."
I clenched my fists, forcing myself to stay calm. "And I suppose you do?"
His grin widened. "More than you think."
A chill ran down my spine. He wasn’t just a soldier—he was a messenger. He hadn’t come here to win. He had come here to confirm something.
And now, he had.
I wondered if I was the one who chosed him to fight him or he already chose me.
I played right into his hands, he must have known I was going choose him because I saw him save Mira.
The wolf with golden eyes grinned wider, his stare intense and piercing, as if he could look straight into my soul. My heartbeat throbbed in my ears, yet I would not turn away.
"You sense it, don’t you?" he mocked, tilting his head a bit. "The attraction... the bond."
My muscles tightened. What was he referring to?
"I’m not sure what game you believe you’re involved in," I retorted, regaining my composure, "but all I feel is the strong desire to kill you."
He laughed ominously. "Oh, but you definitely will."
Without notice, he suddenly charged again, his speed distorting as he covered the gap between us. I hardly had a moment to respond before his claws skimmed my arm, searing like flames on my skin. I inhaled sharply, retracting, yet the agony was not solely bodily. Something more profound, something elemental, awakened inside me.
His golden eyes brightened. "At last, you’re waking up, Kira."
An unexpected wave of warmth flooded my veins, fierce and unruly. My breath caught as an unknown energy surged upward, insisting on being set free.
The earth trembled under our feet.
And then, in a dazzling burst of silver brilliance everything transformed.
The dazzling silver glow erupted from inside me, fierce and unrestrained, engulfing all in its way. The golden-eyed wolf recoiled, his demeanor transitioning from humor to a feeling that was unsettlingly akin to admiration. The atmosphere buzzed with energy, my body resonating with a force I had never experienced.
Suddenly, just as it had appeared, the energy vanished. My sight grew hazy, and my legs weakened under me.
A hand-firm, unwavering held my arm before I could fall. His voice, deep and wise, sent a shiver down my spine.
"At last, do you grasp it now, Moonkeeper?"
