Mind Demon's Path of Domination

Mark’s Puppet, Ryan, slowly flew above the ground, feeling at peace. He was a fly. Flies were carefree creatures, indeed. They were better than his main body. Yes, they would die with a sneeze of his, but did they care?

No.

Flies were amazing at not giving a fuck.

Suffering, Misfortune, Enemies? Nothing would make them give a shit. They’d still loiter around, buzz near sleeping ears, and sit on top of excrement as usual. And now, he felt exactly like them.

I am a fly, Ryan thought. But I look more like a mini human with white wings than a fly. Sad. Should have made the main body make me a true fly. Then I could just not care, maybe.

And sad. I have the cognitive features of an average human, too.

How cursed were creatures with sentience to be born?

If they were not born, they wouldn’t have to think about anything. It is all because of their birth that they have to go through the pain of death. Why were we born, if only to die?

Ah, if he were a fly, he wouldn’t have had to think such thoughts.

Fuck.

Ryan came to a halt and descended onto a small rock. He sat on it with a concerned frown. It had been a day since he first became conscious in this world of vitality-sucking chains, chained giants, and unknowns, and he hadn’t progressed at all.

At this point, he was procrastinating like an idiot and wising to be a fly.

He just couldn’t be blamed though.

Taking a deep breath, Ryan once again surveyed his surroundings.

He was in a place that could only be described as hellish—a harsh and unyielding landscape that immediately put him on edge. The atmosphere was thick and oppressive, as if the very air sought to crush him.

Above, the sky was an endless expanse of roiling gray clouds, casting an eerie pallor over everything around him. It was a place where even the skies seemed hostile.

He had tried to leave this place and move somewhere else into the Demon World. But he stopped when he understood that it was impossible to leave.

Surrounding the area he was in were colossal stone walls that towered so high they seemed to touch the very heavens. And no matter how high he flew, he couldn’t see their top. Not that he could fly too high with this weak body. If it were his main body, he probably might have been capable of seeing the top.

So, he couldn’t find a way to leave beyond the walls for now, and he was also wary of what the wall was made up of. It had chains draped like small curtains here and there, looking like harmless decoration.

If he went too close, those harmless-looking things might just become the way he died.

Cautiousness, cautiousness, he muttered inwardly.

But it wasn’t the walls that held his attention; it was the eerier sight that unfolded before him. A vast network of massive chains snaked through the landscape, their surface rusted and stained with dried blood. These chains, which groaned and clanked ominously, held bound giants, so colossal that they simply were on a different level.

Even the main body would be crushed like a fly by them! The last time the main body saw them, he had felt their absolutely crushing auras.

Yet, they were chained and carrying an enormous castle. Then, they were blankly walking around with that on their backs. The sight was heart-shaking. But that made him look at the castle in the sky with even more interest.

What was inside it?

To reach it though, would not be an easy task.

With his body being so weak, flying that high would be hard in the first place, but the giants were not stationary and their movement caused small airfields near them. The air alone would push him back, or even outright crush him if he tried to close in on the castle.

And what about the Giants?

Would they just let him enter?

Even his main body would sense him—even if he was as tiny as a fly—if he moved close. So, surely the giants were the same. Would they ignore him if he tried to enter that castle?

Sighing, Ryan looked down and about until his gaze came to rest on a solitary tree on the ground. The tree seemed to be the origin of many of the vitality-sucking chains at the very least.

It also had many powerful demons bound to it, having sealed all their powers.

Should he move closer towards them instead and try negotiating some deals?

No, they’d kill me. Unlike my main body, I don’t have the speed to escape from them if they start chasing. They can catch me even if I run.

Suddenly, his stomach growled softly and Ryan’s already pale face grew paler. He was hungry, and thirsty, too. And unlike the main body who could get food, water, and such anytime he wished, he had nothing in sight to satiate him that was safe.

This was the same as being stuck in the middle of a tree while climbing. Go up, and there would be a beehive, go down and there would be a bear. He was stuck in a truly bad situation.

All because I lost that Heart Blood to these fucking giants, he cursed inwardly as he looked around. There must be a way out.

A nice way to negotiate with the sealed demons, perhaps?

If they could give him atleast one Seal of Destiny, and let him use it on one of them to gain the [Soul Devourer] demonic trick, he would have a real way to grow stronger. From what he had seen, those people were uber-rich creatures, so they must have one Seal at least.

Yet, why would they let him kill one of them to grow stronger? Using the Seal of Destinies required murder, after all.

Hm...

And many of them had World Spaces, too. So they must have food in hand.

In the Star Fever World, Mark sighed as he crushed another flying ship. It was a never-ending barrage of enemies, and no matter where he went—they were not letting him rest. They were also growing more troublesome to kill.

"They are trying to exhaust you first before sending their true powerhouses," Reol’ran said. "Since you can’t escape their detection methods, you can’t go against their plans either."

Mark clicked his tongue. "I will go to them. They must be somewhere, watching, right?"

But even though he had mind-warped many of these Star Monkeys into mindless idiots, none of them knew the answer to his question. No one knew where the truly strong Star Monkeys were waiting. Nor did anyone know how strong they were.

The ones attacking him were all weak soldiers being sent to their deaths.

Even though they were all... Pinnacle Tier 2 Existences.
