Mind Demon's Path of Domination

Yanchan looked up at a majestic cliff covered in mist, his face hidden by the shadows of clouds up in the sky. Tossing a rock in his hands, the boy’s muscles grew taut, and he readied himself. With a deep breath, he flinched back and threw the rock at full power into the mist covering the cliff.

Not seeing the small rock falling back, he smiled and touched the moist walls.

Savage Magic—Aura Teleportation!

The boy’s figure blurred and suddenly, he found himself standing at the top of the cliff, surrounded by thin layers of mist. He took the rock back and curiously looked around; tree branches jutting out of mists and more mist around.

According to the information that the demon gave me, my sister should be somewhere around this area. But on the heavens, why is it so misty?

"Hey! Is anybody here?!" he shouted.

"HEY! I AM A GOLDEN SAVAGE, A BACKUP SENT HERE TO HELP YOU!" He took a deep breath. "HEY! AREN’T YOU SILVERS ALL FIGHTING DEMON CAVES AROUND HERE? I CAN HELP YOU!"

No replies came from the mist, and Yanchan looked down at the ground with a slightly worried expression. From what I know, my sister is still alive and well, fighting in the demon caves around here—caves that shouldn’t be too difficult for her to survive. If I wait, I should encounter her sooner or later.

But no.

Yanchan wasn’t too optimistic.

The world had a way of ruining things. His sister might be happy and safe now, but because his dream was to meet her, he feared something bad would happen. Whenever a dream was close to being achieved, the world often threw in a tragic twist.

Too bad, your village will be destroyed by a landslide.

He took a deep breath.

Oh, your dream is to meet Yuuna?

Too bad, she just died while fighting a demon. And yeah, Yanchan, you will walk right up to meet her corpse. A shiver ran down his vertebrae as the thought lingered, and he stopped in his tracks.

Then, he began running a bit faster, shouting to see if anyone else was around.

I am just being paranoid. Calm down. She survived all these years without me, how will she be in trouble just when I am strong?

"YUUNA! ARE YOU HERE?!"

Clang!

The sound of metal clanging against metal echoed from his left and he turned just in time to see sparks running wild inside the mist. A fight?

He threw the rock in his hand in that direction and just as it broke through the mist, teleported right beside it. A sword headed right for his neck and the boy felt as if his head had been chopped already—he panicked like a frightened chicken, but due to some great luck, he used his other Savage Magic.

Thud!

A powerful thud echoed into his surroundings, but his defenses were unharmed. Oh, oh, oh, I am still alive. Yes, I am still alive!

Sweating, Yanchan looked to his left and right. On his right was a poor Silver Savage swordsman with a masked face, and a body that reeked of exhaustion. On his left, on the other hand, was a demon with an incredibly slim waist and an incredibly fat body.

"Gold Lord!" The Silver shouted in excitement and relief.

Yanchan blinked and then asked, "What is going on, how is another demon walking around outside a demon cave? Wouldn’t they die if they come out?"

The demon growled and stared at him warily, slowly moving back.

The Silver Savage clutched his bleeding chest and said with a painful expression: "It’s the mist, Gold Lord. This mist is a demonic trick of a demon amidst them, and inside it, the demons can walk out of the demon caves.

"It’s been here for some months but the Gold Lords were keeping the Mist Demon suppressed, but for some reason, the Gold Lords vanished earlier today and now, the Mist Demon is running rampant. The Silvers are trying hard to fight against the weaker Middle Demons, but the stronger ones... we are no match!"

Yanchan turned and looked at the demon, then, he showed the Silver Savage his hand.

"Um, what, Gold Lord?"

"You have a sword in your hand, give it to me."

He removed the Glass Dome.

The demon saw its chance and ran towards Yanchan with poisonous liquid exploding from its mouth.

Gripping the hilt of the sword, Yanchan suddenly vanished and appeared behind the demon. Then, he swiftly swung the blade in a brutal arc, pushing his sword into the rigid meat and severing the head in a clean slice.

The demonic body slumped onto the dirty ground.

The sword in his hand shimmered and vanished. The Silver’s Mindpower was empty.

"Hey, Silver, have you seen a woman with red hair and red eyes?" he asked, heart thumping in his chest. "She is also a silver savage."

The Silver sat down against the tree and groaned, asking, "Gold Lord, are you speaking about Miss Yuuna?"

Yanchan’s pupils enlarged.

"Yes. Where is she?"

"She..."

"She?"

Suddenly, a hand touched Yanchan’s shoulder and he turned around to look at the owner of it. How had they appeared beside him so silently? Frightened, he was, but for some reason, when he saw the red hair and scarlet eyes, he forgot everything else.

Oh what, so I was just paranoid indeed. Sometimes, dreams can come true.

"Who are you?" asked a rough, manly voice and Yanchan broke out of his daze.

The person before him was not red-haired, she was a blonde, it was just that he was bathed in crimson blood. He looked red-haired, crimson-eyed. But in the end, it was not his sister. Hell, it was a man.

He used the Eye of Heaven and Elemental Meld to hide himself from me until now, he understood. Another Gold Lord.

"Now is not the time, right, brother?" Yanchan said seriously. "I heard all Gold Lords are missing, what’s going on? And did you see Yuuna?"

The rough man looked around, a wary flicker in his gaze. "I don’t know what is going on, but we were seven Gold Lords hunting demons here. But suddenly, all six of them vanished into thin air and all that is remaining is me, who was hiding in the side using my Earth Meld."

"Okay, so have you seen Yuuna?"

He was becoming more and more nervous.

"Yes, I just came from beside her. She is really noticeable due to her red hair, and she is fighting a bunch of middle demons along with other Silvers. I was here to help this guy."

"Uh?"

So she is in danger.
