Mind Demon's Path of Domination

Lumla ran among the woods, her eyes bright. She had moved out of both of the battles and since it was for a valid reason, there was no issue with her Contract.

BOOM!

A violent boom went off in the distance and she grimaced.

"X-Jerk’s sound wave," Lumla muttered. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Suddenly, she saw Yamuna’s body blur through the woods. Her face changed.

"Yamuna, go support the others. I wil destroy the Pond!"

Yamuna laughed coldly and her righteous face turned into a sneer.

Anxious, Lumla frowned.

"Why are you wasting your time here with me?"

"You think too much of yourself," Yamuna said. "Do you think we didn’t guess you found the Core?"

Lumla’s face changed and she immediately changed her direction from the pond. She began moving towards the Gate instead. But Yamuna didn’t fall for it and moved directly towards the pond.

"It’s in the pond, right?" she asked with a laugh.

Lumla increased her speed and moved towards the pond as fast as she could.

How did I mess up? How did Yamuna figure it out?! Did Blood and Wind betray me?!

"Impossible!" Lumla screamed.

Yamuna laughed as they reached the periphery of the pond.

Lumla asked: "How did you know?"

Yamuna tried to resist with gritted teeth but it was impossible to lie to Lumla.

A-rank Hunter Ability—Truth Pressure.

"You were too eager to come and hunt the Boss. Of course, we are not fools!" Yamuna said coldly as they both reached the pond.

Then, both of them stopped. There was another demon near the Pond.

The Minotaur roared, running towards Leon with a crazed look in its eyes.

Tiger’s eyes moved around until it focused on the air right infront of the Minotaur.

A-rank Hunter Ability—Eye Shield.

A thin layer of air crystallized into a thin layered barrier.

Leon giggled and his own eyes focused on the Minotaur’s neck. A thin line stretched nearly a hundred meter across the Minotaur’s neck as a huge blade slice appeared there out of thin air.

"It’s Defensive Magic Skin is broken!" Blood screamed at Wind.

The Minotaur’s red eyes glinted coldly and for the first time, it began to use its demonic tricks.

Tier 2 Pinnacle Demonic Trick—Super Jump.

The creature’s legs tightened and a powerful jump took it right infront of Wind. Wind ducked down and jumped to the side with immense speed—by a hair’s length, he escaped. Blood clenched his hands at the Minotaur and it flinched, coughing green blood.

Grey scales started to appear on the creature’s body and it turned to glare at Blood.

The creature moved through the air at immense speed and caught Blood by his neck. The Demon Mask of the man, along with its head, was completely eaten with one gulp. The gigantic Minotaur then slammed the corpse on the ground, turning it inot a puddle of blood, creating a crater on the ground.

Tiger felt his heart skip a beat. His eyes hadn’t even been able to place a barrier in time. It was faster and more unexpected. And his focus had been on protecting his little brother Leon.

"Blood!" Wind screamed. "Franklin, why didn’t you protect him?"

Wind turned to look at Franklin, their actual defense. Leon and Tiger were just addons.

Franklin...

"Where is Franklin?!" Leon screamed.

Yuri’s snake shadow blurred through the air and caught the immense shadow of the Boss right on its neck. It bit down.

A-Rank Hunter Ability—Shadow Curse.

The snake’s shadow just moved through the shadow of the Boss as if it had suddenly become immaterial.

Tier 2 Pinnacle Demonic Trick—Phantom Transformation.

A defensive ability that turned the Boss immaterial. It could only be used once every 30 seconds and it was very costly but it was equally a strong ability. Bale jumped back with a bloodied head and a huge wound on his chest.

Hanmo and X-Jerk stood coldly to both sides of the Boss.

"Today, this guy will die," said Bale.

"It will." X-Jerk clasped his hands into a prayer, ready to clap.

Hanmo grinned. "It will die."

The Boss looked around warily.

The phantomness of the creature could at most last 5 seconds.

Suddenly, the voice of Leon pierced through the air. "The core of the mega-dungeon is in the Black Water Pond! Franklin, the Masked Woman, and Miss Yamuna ran towards it!"

All of their faces changed.

Yuri stared in shock as X-Jerk and Hanmo ran like a breeze towards the Core.

Bale stumbled back. "Where is Siddique?" he asked.

Yuri felt her heart skip a beat. She shoted, "I thought he was in hiding, waiting to use his acid abilities!"

"That snake also ran for the core!"

Bale and the dark demon exchanged a battle of fists and in between, Reema ran and touched Bale to heal him. Bale could barely meet punch to punch with the demon but he held on, gritting his teeth as he fought.

Yuri backed away a bit and her shadow moved in search of the Boss’ shadow.

Reema screamed, "Bale, run and get the Core for ourselves!"

"This thing would kill me if it gets me from the back!" he screamed back.

Just as Yuri was looking around, a transparent ball of light moved slowly towards her and in her sudden confusion, touched her. She froze, then completely blanked out.

Tier 2 Pinnacle Demonic Art—Phantom Ball of Dizziness.

The Boss Demon, it had used some kind of ability that made focusing impossible. Her shadow snake vanished into shards of dark light and Yuri stood unmoving. The Boss focused its eyes on her.

Seeing the chance, Bale pushed back the Boss as much as he could and then ran towards the Core without looking back. His eyes were full of greed. Reema also didn’t stop and ran towards the Core without sparing a glance at the confused Yuri.

There was another Tier 2 Demon near the Pond, the place was its shelter. The creature growled as multiple Hunters surrounded it. It was a Demon that looked like a dog—just that it had three heads instead of one.

"It can use powerful flames!"

Siddique, the Acid Hunter. Yamuna, the Mass Healer. Hanmo, the Ice God. Franklin, an incredible defense. Lumla, the Truth Hunter. And even X-Jerk. All of them surrounded it and within seconds, the demon was brought to its brink and had to use its Ultimate Demonic Art.

Ultimate Demonic Arts were the combination of multiple Demonic Arts that a demon possessed. This Hellhound had the ability to increase the warmth of the enemy’s body to an unbearable level, the ability to generatefire, and the ability to explode anything touched by fire.

But with just a simple move, it combined multiple of its abilities and turned it into an ultimate move. The Ultimate Demonic Art. It was a combination attack, made by combining multiple abilities that it already had.

Tier 2 Ultimate Demonic Art—Exploding Warmth.

The ability to generate fire, the ability to increase the warmth of an enemy body, and the ability to explode anything touched by fire. They all combined to form this power. It allowed the Hell Hound to generate fire within a body like it increased the warmth of the body, and anything touched by it own fire... could be exploded.

Suddenly, the Acid Hunter groaned. His whole body began to grow hot.

Siddique exploded in a blast of blood and gore.

Everybody was bathed in it. But Hanmo just laughed and jumped towards the Hell Hound. A demon couldn’t just use their Ultimate Demonic Arts as many times as they wanted, it was incredibly costly and he knew this dog couldn’t repeat the same feat.

Soon, the hound was killed and all the Hunters jumped into the Pond like rabid beasts. It was Franklin who first jumped out of the pond, a dark and pulsing core clutched in his palm.

Before he could run with it towards the Boss, though, Bale appeared infront of him and tried to snatch it.

A-rank Defensive Ability—Figure of the DarkDeity.

A fat man’s figure covered Franklin from head to toe, made of dark and solid light. It was his Defensive Ability and with it, he will be able to run towards the Boss.

"I got the Core, let me go now and I’ll return the favour!" Franklin said coldly.

"Such two-faced bastards. How greedy are you?" Lumla laughed, eyes bloodshot. Her core. It was her core. "And you blame me!"

Hanmo’s eyes flashed. "Give it to me, Franklin."

Bale’s fist moved through the air like a guillotine and tore a hole into the dark light. Then, the hand tore through flesh and through the chest of Franklin. The Defensive Hunter blinked in disbelief as a hole was torn through him.

He smiled wryly and then laughed. With all his strength, he threw the core into the air.
