Yuri jumped through the forestry with a focused gait.

She could feel sweat trickle down her back, and each heartbeat felt like a drum beat. She had fought a lot of duels with Mark and Mark himself had said that he was not a super professional fighter. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

He just had more experience with his abilities than Yuri had with her own. The Boss Demon was even more experienced and battle honed than Mark.

The forest passed by her like a blur.

’Mark, where are you?’ she wondered for the tenth time this hour.

Had he just been here, she would have had a huge boost in her confidence.

X-Jerk ran beside her while Bale and Hanmo ran infront.

Soon, the trees parted to reveal one extremely huge tree, and below it—her heart thumped. The demon looked towards them coldly. It noticed them.

It was impossible not to be noticed when the Soul Sense of the creature was so potent.

The creature had eyes as dark and deep as the abyss, long flowing black hair, and a humanoid shape. It was as big as a bus, and as it opened its fangs, Yuri could see sharp fangs. Its skin was cole black, just like all other parts of its body except the sclera of its pupils. The sclera was red—crimson. And behind it, a man-sized tail with sharp, blade-like edges whipped around, making wounds on the ground.

Suddenly, Yuri’s face changed. The demon vanished from its original spot and bypassed Hanmo and Bale.

It appeared just an arm’s length away from her with a sudden warp in air.

Yuri desperately placed her hands against it but its punch hit her and her world lurched. She was thrown to the side and her back tore through multiple trees before she came to a halt.

She wheezed for air, blood exploding from her twisted arms.

"Fuck, one person down!" X-Jerk shouted. He clapped his hand at the Boss’s direction.

A-rank Hunter Ability—Sound Wave.

The clap became a wave of visible energy and slammed into the monster. It flinched and took a step back. That time was enough for Hanmo and Bale to surround it.

"I’ve been waiting for this day!"

Bale clenched his hands and his shirt turned into flying scraps.

Super Strength.

His nerves bulged and his powerful fist moved through the air. It hit the Boss—no—it went through the Boss as if the Boss was just an illusion. Dark, abyss-like eyes stared at Bale coldly.

Bale immediately put his hands in defence but it was too late.

The creature straightened and its leg slammed into Bale’s head. The hulk of a man was thrown to the ground with a pathetic grunt but before he could be crushed to death, Hanmo made his move.

An icy spear appeared in the sky and Franklin, who was running past the Boss towards the Minotaur that was running towards the Boss, caught the spear and threw it straight at the Boss’ back. Bale took the chance to escape from underneath the creature’s foot.

Yuri’s eyes blurred, she felt the pain eat her from the inside.

A-Rank Hunter Ability—Touch of Healing.

The pain vanished from her body and her mind cleared up. Yuri stood up, wheezing.

Healer Hunter Reema sprinted away, not sparing a second to glance around. The woman’s old body moved like a cat.

Yuri clenched both of her hands into one and a snake moved out of her shadow.

X-Jerk said from the side, "Don’t bite the Boss’ Shadow. Its Defensive Magic Skin is still active. Your attack won’t be effective."

She gritted her teeth. Her gaze moved to the other battlefield.

The Twins, Franklin, and the Three Masked Hunters were surrounding a Minotaur and trying to put a fight against it. They were at least doing their job well and separating the Minotaur from the Boss itself. Her gaze moved around once more.

From one side of the forest, a blue glow illuminated the area.

On another side, nestled among trees was a small pond full of Black Water.

"Focus!" X-Jerk said sharply.

Yuri focused.

She bit her lips.

Hanmo’s body rolled through the ground and made crater after crater. The Boss had punched him through the air and Hanmo had been incapable of any defences other than a block of ice that took most of the brunt for him.

The Boss stood proud.

Cole black, gigantic body looking down at them all as if they were just flies.

She remembered Mark’s warning.

Not to mention the Ultimate Demonic Art, I might die against its normal Demonic Tricks.

Bale twisted his neck to the side and dodged a punch from the cole black arms but just as he did that, the Demon’s knees slammed onto Bale’s stomach. The Hunter coughed blood and slammed onto the ground, making a giant crater.

The Boss planted its leg on Bale’s head.

"ARGH!" It roared.

A spear of ice slammed into its opened mouth. It clenched its teeth and the ice shattered into sparkles.

Yuri suddenly blinked.

X-Jerk had moved at some point and the man now hanged from the Boss’ head. He was like a barbaric monkey, having jumped at some unknown point.

"What, baby?" asked the Sound Hunter. "Don’t you want to hear my song?"

The Hunter placed his palms on the demon’s ears like a headset and suddenly an immense sound wave broke out of his hands, it visibly shook the air.

BOOM! BOOM!

The Demon’s eyes bulged and it groaned.

Bale grabbed its legs and smiling with bloodstained teeth, bit into the creatures foot.

SUPER STRENGTH!

Green blood exploded from the creature’s legs as his tooth sank into its flesh.

"The Defensive Magic Skin is broken!" Reema screamed. "Scientist, now! Bite its shadow. Bite it. Bite it! Curse it with your shadow snake!"

X-Jerk roared. "Do it!"

Yuri took a deep breath.
