Mind Demon's Path of Domination

Mark stared at the youth sullenly. "Why do you not attack me?"

"Well. When your memories are all blank and empty and the ants start eating your true soul—I will attack you. You will be much easier to handle, then. Even if you grow stronger."

"..."

"Mark..."

"Reol’ran. Due time you start trusting the man you chose."

"I..."

Mark coughed up more black blood.

In it, he could see a memory of him entering the Hunter World for the first time. There, he went through his first true experiences in the world of supernatural powers.

And now, he had forgotten some of it.

Soon, he wouldn’t remember a thing.

"I can understand you, Demon," said the Eagle Youth, a glint of pure lust in his eyes. This time, instead of Yuri and Dona, it was aimed directly at Mark.

Mark felt goosebumps.

The youth said, flying around, "The moment I activated that Demonic Art, your death was sealed. Most would vainly try to resist, but you didn’t resist the effect but tried to make use of the chance to find a true way out. I admire such a thing."

Mark forgot his first meeting with the Trio Hunters. He forgot his first meeting with Choi Sung. He forgot his first meeting with Yuri.

His eyes grew blanker and blanker.

Soon, he forgot meeting Reol’ran.

"Mark..." came a trembling voice. "What have you done? Are you... being influenced mentally by the River of Destiny? Why?"

"Reol’ran..." he said, then frowned.

As a breeze passed by them, a whole bucketful of black blood oozed down his body all at once.

The Youth looked at him from a distance.

Mark stared up.

"Mark!" Reol’ran said.

After a long, long moment, Mark smiled at the sky with eyes as blank as a baby.

"Hey!" The Eagle Youth shouted. "There is a friend of mine who can turn men into women. Do you want to become one of my main wives? I do have a special liking for Mavericks!"

Mark stared blankly.

"Ah, you lost your memories already?" The Youth sighed. "Seems you didn’t even gain any enlightenment."

"Failed?" Mark said with a dumb expression on his face.

Flap!

The Youth flew towards Mark at full speed, a condensed ball of air held inside his palm. "If you have lost your memories, you can lose a few limbs, too. Don’t worry, I will fix you and keep you in my company till I am bored."

His fist headed straight for Mark’s chin.

The fist... went through Mark’s body.

The Youth’s face changed.

Mark gently placed his hand on the youth’s chest and splayed his fingers widely. There was a smile on his face—the hand was firmly placed.

"Playing with a Mind Demon when it comes to soul, memories, and such when you have so little skill," Mark said. "I told you—you can’t kill me with a borrowed knife."

Alchemical Shapeshifting!

"How?" The youth asked in startlement.

Down below, Yuri had a calm time with the Giant Eagle. It only had one Soul Weapon—Hair of Hate. It boasted that only its young master had that ability other than itself.

"So, the more someone hates you—the more healing you can do to yourself?" Yuri asked curiously. "This is the same ability your young master has, too, right?"

"Of course," the creature said coldly.

"Should you be telling me this?" Yuri asked seriously.

"You won’t leave this place alive."

"Fool. You can’t even break my Glass Dome—how can you kill me?"

"My young master will come here after killing that Middle Demon and we will deal with you together."

Yuri sneered. "Or my babe would come and we will deal with you together. And sorry to break it but we are both not the type to hate people easily, so both of you won’t get to use healing."

The eagle flew above her, worried about an attack. And finally, she saw its shadow in her range. Dumb. Flying in the air in daylight was stupid with a shadow-type ability user as an enemy.

Before she could catch the shadow, it moved again and went out of range.

She smiled.

Shadow Curse!

Her shadows popped out of the ground and flew closer to its shadow like dark snakes. She then used her shadow as the axis to teleport herself near it with Aura Teleportation. And immediately, she pulled another Glass Dome into reality and protected herself.

Her shadow snakes bit into the giant Eagle’s shadow and the creature looked down in surprised horror.

Soon, the Giant Eagle—a Tier 3 being—was frothing in the mouth and on the ground.

She looked up, her foot on the creature’s head.

Mark looked down from the air, a bleeding, headless, and winged body in his hand.

He had his eyes closed.

She could feel his Soul Sense vaguely around her. Her man was keeping a protective eye on her, from the very start. And now, this battle was over.

There was a thing about Mark that even Reol’ran had forgotten to take into account. He had two souls at the moment—one in his real body, and the other in the Puppet who was in the Demon World.

Mark had lost all his memories, but Ryan, the Puppet, had lost none. So of course, it was super easy to regain all the memories. He had two minds in a sense, and both were intrinsically linked profoundly. If one could remember, both could.

It was thus impossible to harm his memories by targeting only his main body when he had at least one Dream Gamble active.

So, even if the Soul-Eating Ant Horde kept eating at his soul for eternity, they wouldn’t be able to harm him. They first had to eat all his memories before they could start eating his soul, and that wasn’t happening.

Mark himself had wanted to try losing all his memories, but right after losing them, in a second or two, he kept regaining them. That made him not want to use Clown’s Circus or eat the Armor.

It was a... funny reality. And while he acted like he lost his memories with a blank gaze, he had instead gone inside his World Space, which naturally made his eyes appear somewhat lifeless. And there, he had...

Mark felt a projectile headed directly toward him with immense speed.

A sniper in the distance.

Demonic Trick—Phantom Transformation!

The bullet went through Mark’s body as if he were not made of flesh and blood, but just light.

"The inhabitants of this world," he muttered. "Are somewhat annoying. But nothing much so far."

Now that he had the additional Phantom Transformation—he was way more versatile with his actions.

Mark smiled calmly.

He had entered his World Space, and he had killed the Dungeon Demon slave of his. It was a sacrifice he was a bit reluctant to make, but nothing too bothering if it resulted in him gaining a new ability.

He had used one of his Seal of Destinies on the Dungeon Demon and stolen the defensive ability—Phantom Transformation—which he had always had his eyes on.

And with that as a surprise added to the lethality of Alchemic Shapeshifting, and the fact that Soul attacks don’t work on him in his current condition, he had killed the first Tier 3 lifeform in his life.

Everything had seemingly gone well.

Of course, that also meant he couldn’t remove the ants in his soul. They were still constantly eating his memories, and black blood was still oozing down his mouth every few seconds.

Though he lost nothing, it kept happening.

Mark squinted and hurled the bullet back in a certain direction. He then put the corpse of the Youth into his World Space.

Mark planned to make Costume of the Murdered his own. He had Seals of Destiny, and the ability was interesting enough. With it, he could use all the powers of people he kills and turns into Costumes.

Though it only worked for five minutes, it was handy.

He activated one of the Seals of Destiny and it began to come into action soon enough. Soon, he gained the new Trick: Costume of the Murdered.

At the same time, he sensed a turmoil in his World Space.

Reol’ran was pissed.
