- Chapter 1: Don’t go...
I spent the next couple of hours researching the different types of specialized magic.
When I try to evolve my core, I had a whole plethora of them to choose from. There were honestly too many. That’s why I decided to research each of the specialized magic I came across, but most of them were nothing but fluff that seemed to take away more than they give.
In fact, most specialized magics were more like defects, and they were described as such.
They were very abstract, some only found in a certain tribe in a certain place in Verseia and never documented anywhere else.
Others were birth defects and players who just happened to possess this type of specialized magic.
And the others that weren’t totally useless didn’t seem like they would mesh well with my class and affinities.
The ones that I was currently considering were rune magic and spirit magic. But even those didn’t seem to fit what I wanted.
I was about to give up and call it a day, but on the last page of the book, in the bottom right corner, I caught something.
"Chaos Magic... the most unpredictable form of magic. It involves manipulating reality-warping energy that defies the laws of nature and magic."
I was in disbelief as I read the description written in the book.
A magic that helps bend reality and defies all other forms of magic. Combine that with my magmamancer class, and you get... I don’t even know. The possibility were endless.
But unfortunately, there was little information about chaos magic except for the fact that it was almost impossible to control.
Could I control it somehow?
I hadn’t had a problem so far controlling magic since I had a whole consciousness dedicated to this task.
And if I couldn’t, what type of evolution would I have to undergo to be able to?
Various questions popped up in my mind, but there were far too few answers.
In fact, this type of magic only had a single paragraph dedicated to it, while the others had pages.
And the only citation for this information was from some guy named A. Steele.
Who the hell is A. Steele?
Seeking answers, I focused and tried to evolve my boss monster core.
Immediately, I was presented with the different categories, and I immediately chose specialized magic.
I then scrolled through the long list of different specialized magic before I finally saw chaos magic in the list of options. There were so many different types of specialized magic that if I didn’t take the time to read this book then I probably would’ve missed it.
[Chaos Magic: The ability to bend and warp reality. Just like every other type of magic, when purchased, its capabilities and functions will depend heavily on the host’s class and affinities.
Cost: 50,000 biomass]
50,000 biomass! The other magics weren’t even close to that price range.
How would I even obtain that much biomass? How long would that even take?!
Should I go on a war path and try to gobble up the entire world?!
Dammit. Now that I see it, I can’t unsee it. Everything else now looks useless compared to what I could gain from this.
Who in their right minds doesn’t want to be OP?
This could very well be it!
Who knows what other monsters are out there.
Other players had their own cheats. This could be mine. I can’t give up. Somehow, I’ll have to gain enough biomass to purchase this evolution and also fulfill my other promises.
"Specialized magic, huh?"
Suddenly, a soft, elegant voice flowed into my ears. I snapped my head in the direction, and there she was.
A soft beauty with golden blonde hair. Her porcelain-like skin brushed against my shoulder as she leaning over to take a look into my book. Even her cologne was strangely alluring.
"Professor?"
How did she manage to sneak up on me?
"It’s good to see students putting out the effort to study all they can."
As if knowing exactly what I was thinking, she smiled teasingly before sitting down on the seat next to mine.
"It’s good you’re here. I actually wanted to speak with you," I said. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
She raised an eyebrow.
"Ah, so you do know who I am."
"Yes. I don’t know if you remember me, but you helped me a lot on the forum."
"From the forum...? Ah, I remember, but I’m not talking about that."
"Huh? What else could you mean?"
The professor leaned in close so our faces were only inches apart.
"Take a good look at me. Blonde hair, cute face, stunning build. Don’t I remind you of someone?"
Do I know this woman? I don’t think I’ve ever seen her before entering this university.
Though...
Cute dimples... tiny nose... and a bit more well-endowed...
Wait, it couldn’t be...
But the resemblance was uncanny so J couldn’t help but ask:
"Are you Amelia’s sister?"
It couldn’t be, right? What are the chances of me running into Amelia’s sister here and her being the one that helped me on the forum?
The girl’s smile grew sharper, and this basically confirmed what I thought.
With this realization, I began to look at the girl in front of me differently. It would also explain her strange behavior during combat training.
Still, something else nagged at me. This all couldn’t be a coincidence, she must’ve known who I was and sought me out.
"Is that the reason you helped me on the forum?"
She shrugged and crossed her legs elegantly.
"No one else would’ve. From the moment you messaged, everyone knew you weren’t a part of any guild and that you were the weakest player in the entire game at the time. I did some research on you before so when I recognized your name, I couldn’t allow my sister’s boyfriend to die. But you’ve managed to raise your rank since then by quite a bit. I’m impressed."
"Thank you again for your help, but what do you want?"
She slowly leaned forward and rested her chin on the back of her hand while keeping eye contact.
"I want you to join me."
