- Chapter 1: Don’t go...
As the bathroom door swung open, I camouflaged myself perfectly in the corner and watched as two figures entered the room.
One was big and tall, while the other was of average height but more muscular than I was.
These two were players. I knew this since I could see the mana coursing through their bodies with mana sight.
From their expressions, I could tell they weren’t following me for a friendly chat.
Without skipping a beat, I moved into their blind spot, just behind them. My forcipukes shot from my arm like a hidden blade.
The needle-like appendage pierced through the shorter one’s neck and pumped my venom into his system.
The player clutched his neck and choked as he tried to speak, but his throat closed up as the neuro-toxin did its work.
The player stretched his hands forward, but the moment he took his first step, he collapsed to the ground with a loud thud.
This alerted the big guy as he turned around in fury. I stabbed at him with my forcipules, but he reacted instantly and swatted my hand away with his overwhelming strength.
I immediately followed up with another punch, but the big guy easily dodged the feeble attempt and grabbed me by the collar.
My body was raised in the air with ease and flung across the room like a piece of cloth.
CRACK!
The tiles cracked as I slammed into it. This reminded me that I wasn’t good at fighting. In human form, at least.
Blood dripped from the cut that slashed across my head. Looking up, I saw the player charging towards me, but before I could react, his foot impacted my ribs, raising my body into the air before I collapsed back onto the ground.
"I have a message for you from the Wild Hog guild," he spoke in a deep intimidating voice as he lifted me up once again. "Only 13 guilds are allowed to exist. Withdraw your application, or you won’t even be able to protect that pretty girl you were with!"
My mouth widened into a smile, revealing rows of bloodied teeth.
"Go to hell," I said before I spat in his face.
"ARGH!"
Immediately, he released his grip and clutched his face as the acid I spat on him burned through his skin.
"You bastard!"
He roared as he charged at me, but just then, googum shot out of my arm, sticking his feet to the ground.
This caused him to trip, and the moment his head was lowered, my obsidian-covered fist bashed into his face.
Blood sprayed across the room as a large chunk of his face was ripped off from the blow. His body jerked back as if he was about to collapse but at the same time I shot out another thick strand of googum.
This one stuck onto the mirror behind him. Pulling with all my strength, the mirror was tugged from thw wall which caused it to shatter against his back. Some of the broken shards from the mirror lodged into his back.
The player roared in pain and tried to cover his face, but before he could, I fired a web of googum, which stuck his hands to the wall.
"I’ll kill-"
He roared, but before he could even finish his sentence, my fist slammed into his face once again.
BAM!
BAM!
BAM!
My exoskeleton shattered from the countless blows I delivered to his bloodied face but every time it shattered I would mold a new one in the same instant.
My fist slammed into his face over and over until he was a bloody mess on the floor.
It was only when he was near death that I finally stopped.
Yet still, I knew I couldn’t let him live. If I did, then he would only come for revenge.
"If... you kill me, *wheeze* you’ll be going to war againsgt the Wild Hog guild."
Ignkring his words, I raised my index finger just above his head and pointed down at his face.
A circular mass of orange energy formed just at the tip of my finger.
I was curious to see how my Fire Bolt spell would work on a human body.
In most circumstances it wouldn’t be lethal.
But if it was shot at point blank range...
-[Fire Bolt]-
SPLAT!
That single magic attack drained most of the energy I had left, causing me to collapse onto the ground in exhaustion.
The small bathroom was in wreckage. Blood and pieces of flesh stuck to the wall.
There were two bodies lying before me. One with its head blown to bits and the other killed by my venom.
Yet I was perfectly calm due to my Monarch’s Indifferent skill.
I wasn’t even angry when he threatened to kill Amelia. This calmness and clearness of mind was what allowed me to effectively fight back. I activated the skill the moment I sensed a threat.
My entire body ached as I pulled myself off the ground.
Calmly, I stacked the bodies on top of each other and melted them down with my acid until they turned liquid.
Afterwards, I quickly wrapped up the remains in googum so they were easy to handle.
I then crouched down on the ground and used my earth control spell. The ground beneath me shook as it split apart and swallowed up the remains, burying them right here in this bathroom.
It would be difficult, if not impossible, for anyone to find them. And even if someone somehow did, it would be a pain for anyone to unwrap the googum.
And if they somehow did, then identifying them would also prove troublesome since the bodies were liquefied.
Still... Sooner or later, someone would come looking or realise they were missing.
I just needed to buy myself enough time to get stronger.
After removing the bloodstains and all the evidence of my existence from the bathroom, I quickly cleaned myself up and left.
Amelia was still seated at the train station. She wore a small smile on her face as she examined two sets of keychains in her hand.
But her smile soon faded the moment she saw the cut on my face.
"Oh my God, what happened?"
"It’s not as bad as it looks, I promise."
"Here, have a seat."
She quickly sat me down on the bench and began examining my wounds.
"It looks like you were in a bar fight."
She quickly took out a white handkerchief and began cleaning my wound.
"You’re always so careless."
Her hands shook as she cleaned my wounds. Even her voice was trembling.
She looked genuinely shaken... All for me.
Seeing this, I could no longer resist as my hands slowly wrapped around her waist and pulled her into my lap.
"W-Wait! What are you—"
Before she could protest, our lips met.
.
.
.
After a few precious seconds, we parted.
"Amelia?"
Her face went ghostly pale, and her eyes shrunk to the size of a needle. It was as if her brain short-circuited.
"Are you okay?"
I waved my hand in front of her face, but she was still unresponsive.
Hiss!
At the same time, the train arrived. I had no choice but to carry her inside the train and sit her down on my lap.
She didn’t say a word, even as I slowly stroked her soft blonde hair, until she eventually fell asleep. In this state she was like a cute doll.
After we exited the train, I carried her along with our bags until we arrived back at our apartment.
The moment I opened the door, I saw Lily, curled up in a ball, sleeping in front of the TV.
I definitely need to buy a couch.
I quickly placed the bags on the floor and threw her over my shoulder, carrying both her and Amelia to our room and placing them on the bed.
I was tired myself, but before I went to sleep, I opened my phone to see if anyone had tried to contact me today.
Surprisingly, I had a notification.
It was a message from the Player University.
Curious, I clicked on the message, opening it instantly.
