Hmm...
A new bloodline?
Bloodlines allow you to gain the advantages of being a certain race without becoming that race. For example, if someone has the bloodline of a salamander, they would have a strong affinity to fire and could absorb energy from the sun.
But since their race isn’t of a salamander, you wouldn’t see them as giant lizards crawling around on the ground in a dungeon. For the most part, they would be human, only with the benefits that come from being a salamander.
Looking over the common-ranked evolutions available to me, salamanders were also part of the list.
-Common Ranked Bloodline Evolutions-
Name: Black Salamander Bloodline
Description: This bloodline belongs to a commonly found beast called the black-scaled salamander. This beast mainly resides in dungeons located near active volcanoes.
Benefits:
[Black Salamander Physique:
+1 bonus increase in strength with every level up.
+2 bonus increase in speed with every level up.
+4 bonus increase in defense with every level up.]
-Gain Title: Monster
-Gain Monster Core
-Gain Fire Affinity
-Gain Fire Mage Class
Cost: 150 biomass]
Reading through the benefits of the black salamander bloodline, I couldn’t help but feel intrigued. This would allow me to gain the title of a monster, and along with it, my own monster core. I would even gain a mage class.
Coupled with this, i gained bonus stat increases upon leveling up. Usually when I leveled up each stat increase by +5. Getting bonuses would further add to my strength.
I was itching to press the purchase screen and accept, but I held myself back. This evolution was only common-ranked.
Don’t get me wrong; a common ranked bloodline was still good. With a common-ranked bloodline, one could train their skills and level up, and with enough time, they could be entering D-ranked dungeons with their party.
Just with the income from this, I could live a luxurious lifestyle in the upper class. The salary was equivalent to what a doctor makes, and in some cases, you could be paid as much as a brain surgeon if you were super successful.
But what stopped me from choosing this evolution outright was the other evolutions available to me. I had 3 other evolutions in the common class, but none of them seemed particularly interesting.
There was a Scaled Rat bloodline that offered me a monster core with no special affinities or class. Another was Shell Ant bloodline. The benefit for this was a monster core along with several innate skills of this creature.
The other two bloodlines were just as useless, so I skipped over them and moved on to the other ranks. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any bloodline in the epic rank, so I moved up to the rare rank. Bloodlines in the rare rank were extremely powerful, and many of the players who mastered these bloodlines went on to become guild masters or even vice presidents of top guilds.
-Rare Rank Bloodline Evolutions-
Name: Ancient Frog Bloodline
Description: An ancient frog that lived millions of years ago. Not much is known about this species, and the only proof of its existence are the fossils left behind.
Benefits:
[Ancient Frog Physique:
+10 bonus increase in strength upon leveling up
+10 bonus increase in speed upon leveling up
+15 bonus increase in defense upon leveling up
-Gain Title: Boss Monster
-Gain Monster Core
-Gain affinity for water and earth
-Gain Class as a water and earth mage
Cost: 500 biomass]
The bloodline of an ancient frog, huh? This too was interesting. This evolution would grant me the title of a boss monster which were stronger than other monsters. I could only imagine the hidden benefits of having this title.
Gaining a mage class with an affinity to water and earth was also interesting, but for now I decided to move on to the next rare-ranked evolution, which, to my surprise, cost more.
-Rare Rank Bloodline Evolutions-
Name: Necro-mushroom Bloodline
Description: A powerful boss monster that commands its own legion. Though this creature is physically weak, its spores are powerful. The spores this creature releases have the ability to control the undead.
Benefits:
[Necro-spores Physique:
-Gain Title: Boss Monster
-Gain Monster Core
-Gain skill: Plant control
-Unlocks the Necromancer class
Cost: 850 biomass]
Though this evolution didn’t grant any physical buffs, its main advantage was in the class I would unlock. The necromancer class was a rare and powerful class. It was also one of the most profitable classes since someone of this class didn’t need to form a party to enter a dungeon. They could enter with only the undead they had under their control, which meant they wouldn’t need to split any of the profits.
To take this a step further, there was even a powerful guild created by one of the players that was run by his undead summons. His undead would enter dungeons without him needing to be present. They would kill monsters and collect resources without him having to lift a finger. This player was in possession of his own army.
This class was powerful, and under any other circumstances, I would’ve chosen this class in a heartbeat, but I couldn’t.
The reason was because I also had a legendary-ranked bloodline evolution available.
Holy shit!
A legendary-ranked bloodline was only awakened by the top 1% of players. The beings who possessed these bloodlines were considered monsters in their own right.
It was only second to the God-tier bloodline, which unfortunately I didn’t obtain an evolution for, but still. A legendary bloodline was still incredible.
My body shook with excitement and intensity as I finally clicked on the option for the legendary-ranked evolution.
