A mass of spiraling blue energy formed before me. It reminded me of the ocean like waves crashing over each other.

For a moment, I contemplated whether to enter or not. This was the first time I had experienced something like this, nor had I ever heard of it happening before.

Naturally, I was cautious, but I thought about the situation objectively. This could be a chance for me to finally get answers.

And by not going, I could possibly be missing out on a great opportunity.

Taking all of this into consideration, I decided to enter the rift. The moment I stepped in, it felt as if my mind was traveling through hyperspace, and soon the same voice echoed once again in my mind.

Storyline: The S-ranked forest Nymph is a powerful monster with near godlike powers. For years, she has lived alone in isolation, plagued by loneliness.

To combat this loneliness, she created children. Strange beings who were capable of evolution.

But to create her children, the forest Nymph had to use a lot of biomass. She drew biomass from everything around her, withering the land and killing everything nearby.

Her actions have led to the death of thousands, but this monster is still hellbent on creating more children.

Causing her to devour more land, which puts the neighboring kingdoms at risk. Hence, it is now the job of the players to slay this monster and end her reign of terror.

The first player to complete the objective wins, leading to the end of the scenario]

For a moment, I was left speechless as I read the objective.

Kill my mother? No way in hell.

And besides, my mother isn’t even in the game world.

Another worrying thing about this was that other players were given the same objective.

It wouldn’t make sense for the game world to want to target my mother, so this must have some other meaning. But what?

Rereading the storyline, I couldn’t help but think it sounded familiar.

I was born in a forest where everything around it was withered away. And I was also one of those creatures capable of evolution that the storyline talked about. Not to mention it kept calling this monster my mother.

Could the forest itself be the S-ranked boss monster that was said to be on the loose?

So the forest itself was the reason everything was withering away, which is why the players came here to defeat it. All so it could gather biomass and create more children like me.

This sequence of events must have triggered a flag in the game, and the way that players enter was by defeating a boss monster.

The next question that plagued my mind was about the reward. What is a Terra-shard, and what made it so valuable?

My mind soon felt as if it was drifting away in space, and soon I couldn’t hold a coherent thought.

It felt as if I was forcibly being put to nap as my mind was swallowed by darkness.

When I awoke, everything felt different. I no longer felt like a mind drifting away in an endless void as I was now back to my centipede form.

"How is my sweet baby boy doing? Are you tired?"

As I opened my eyes, a soothing, melodious voice sounded above me. My entire body relaxed as something soft rubbed against the back of my carapace.

With every passing second, it felt as if my body was being filled with energy. A warm sensation enveloped my entire body.

"Here is a bit of my energy. You shouldn’t have overexerted yourself fighting with your siblings. I want all my children to get along."

Even the voice of this stranger was soothing. Curious, I decided to turn around to see who this stranger was, but the face I saw left me even more shocked.

What is this creature?

I was lying in the lap of a weird plant woman!

Her skin was green, exactly like a plant, and her hair was like long vines sprouting flowers.

Even the dress she wore was like one big flower petal. She carried a kind smile on her face as her eyes folded into creases.

"Oh, are you curious about your own mother?"

What?

Could she be the forest Nymph, my supposed mother?

At the same time, the strange woman released a soft giggle as she covered her mouth teasingly.

Is she reading my mind?

"It seems this one is a little smarter than his brothers and sisters. Here, let me give you a gift."

The strange woman reached out her hand and tapped her index finger on my forehead, which caused a green light to be emitted.

"To answer your earlier question, yes, I am the forest Nymph, and I’m also your mother. None of my other children has unlocked higher consciousness yet, so I’m guessing you must be a player of God’s Game."

’God’s Game? It sounds as if you know much more about this world than I do.’

The Nymph didn’t answer and instead smiled warmly at me.

She didn’t seem like the monster the game made her out to be. But still, I had to ask.

’Do you plan on killing me now that you know I am a player?’

The Nymph shook her head vigorously as if I had asked something unthinkable.

She seemed genuine, which caused a sense of relief to wash over me.

Even if she was planning to kill me, there was nothing I could’ve done about it.

She was an S-ranked monster, for God’s sake!

I wouldn’t even leave a scratch on her.

Seeing she wasn’t planning to kill me, I decided to ask the next question that had been on my mind.
