Beast World: From Villainess to Cub-Raising Chef

She was busy at work when Bablo came in, a strange expression on his face. "Miss Bai, we have some guests from the Yan Family."

Bai Su paused. "The Yan Family? Which Yan Family?"

Bablo said, "The Yan Family, from the Lion Beastman chieftain’s family."

Seeing his serious expression, Bai Su’s own face showed no joy. She guessed this was another group of troublemakers.

She thought for a moment and asked, "Did they ask for me by name?"

Bablo shook his head. "No, not really. They just came in to eat, but the looks on their faces aren’t very friendly."

Bai Su nodded. "Alright. Just serve them well for now. As long as they don’t start anything, you don’t need to pay them any mind."

Bablo nodded.

The table of Lion Beastmen quickly placed their order.

Bai Su swiftly and skillfully prepared salt and pepper pork ribs, cumin-roasted lamb chops, cilantro-mixed beef, crispy pork belly, honey-glazed char siu, potato and beef brisket stew, toothpick beef, a whole roasted lamb, and stir-fried beef tongue.

Lion Beastmen were carnivorous beastmen with a preference for strong flavors, mostly enjoying red meats like pork, beef, and lamb.

She deliberately cut the meat into larger chunks.

Since they were from the Yan Family, they were likely from the military.

The Lion Beastmen in the military were mostly a crude bunch who enjoyed the satisfaction of taking big bites of meat.

They probably wouldn’t like it if the meat was cut too small.

After a moment’s thought, Bai Su added a complimentary refreshing hot and sour soup before letting Bablo take the dishes out.

At the table.

Yan Tai was sitting at the table with several other Lion Beastmen, staring at the spread of food with expressions full of mistrust.

Sitting beside him was Bai Jiayue.

Bai Jiayue looked at Yan Tai and lowered her voice. "Don’t forget what we’re here to do."

She had specifically sought out Yan Tai, the son of the Lion Beastman Tribe’s chieftain, to come with her today.

Bai Ruxin was taking her sweet time and still hadn’t talked to Bai Su about releasing Bai Xue, so she decided to take matters into her own hands and pressure Bai Su herself.

’Let this useless little female know her place and back off!’

’She’s just one female. A single tree can’t make a forest. How could she possibly stand against our Female Protection Institution?’

In a little while, they would use this as an opportunity to stir up trouble, smash up the restaurant, and show Bai Su how powerful they were. Then they’d pressure her into letting Bai Xue go.

Yan Tai, distracted by the rich aroma wafting from the table, nodded blankly. "Right..."

Bablo introduced from the side, "These are all cooked fresh. You should eat them while they’re hot."

Yan Tai stared at the food in amazement, almost forgetting what he was there to do.

He cleared his throat, clumsily scooped up some beef tongue with his spoon, and stuffed it into his mouth.

After a few chews, his eyes widened in disbelief. "What is this?!"

He had never eaten anything with a texture like this before.

Canned meat was always soft and mushy, nothing like this. This was springy yet firm, with a rich and spicy flavor. It was incredible!

He couldn’t help but shovel another large spoonful into his mouth.

Bablo smiled and explained from the side, "That’s beef tongue. It’s specially treated to remove any gamey taste and then stir-fried to enhance the aroma."

"You can also try the crispy pork belly and roasted lamb chops next to it. They’re both excellent."

Unable to hide the delight on his face, Yan Tai quickly called out to his subordinates, "You guys, hurry up and try this! It’s incredible! This is so delicious!"

The subordinates had long heard that the delicacies at Bai Su’s restaurant were second to none.

They trained in the military barracks every day and could always smell the aromas drifting over from the Disabled Tribe’s territory. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

The smell nearly drove them crazy with craving.

They were lucky to finally be able to experience it today.

As soon as Yan Tai finished speaking, they eagerly grabbed the spoons on the table and started digging into the meat.

One by one, they were all rendered speechless with amazement.

Seeing them get more and more excited as they ate, to the point they stopped talking altogether, Bai Jiayue, sitting beside them, was fuming at their uselessness. She quickly stomped on Yan Tai’s foot under the table, signaling him to get on with it.

Yan Tai had been captivated by the beef tongue, and before he could recover, he was captured by the crispy pork belly.

Just as he regained his senses and was about to speak, he was captivated again by the cilantro-mixed beef.

He shot Bai Jiayue a knowing glance and a nod while continuing to stuff his face relentlessly.

Of course, he remembered he was there on a mission, but...

’Damn it!’

’How does this woman, Bai Su, have so many food traps!’

Bablo expertly explained from the side, "Our boss roasts the cumin whole lamb over charcoal in a special oven. She brushes it with honey at regular intervals, which is why the skin is crispy and fragrant. It’s normal to taste the caramelized honey."

Yan Tai, having almost completely forgotten his mission for the day, turned to Bai Jiayue next to him. "Vice President, aren’t you going to eat?"

Bai Jiayue turned her face away haughtily. "I would never! I only consume nutrient solutions specially formulated for me by my nutritionist."

Yan Tai had only asked out of politeness. He was actually thrilled that Bai Jiayue wasn’t eating.

Finally, the group had polished off every last bit of food on the table.

Bai Jiayue spoke up at just the right moment. "Yan Tai, isn’t it about time?"

She gave Yan Tai a meaningful look.

But Yan Tai turned to Bablo instead. "Brother, another round of the exact same dishes, thank you!"

Bablo laughed heartily. "You got it! It’ll be out in just a moment!"

He turned and headed for the kitchen.

After he left, Bai Jiayue shot Yan Tai a fierce glare. "Eat, eat, eat! Have you forgotten why we’re here today?!"

Yan Tai nodded. "Don’t worry, Vice President. Since we’re going to cause a scene anyway, we’re definitely not paying. So why not eat some more and get a free meal out of it?"

Bai Jiayue couldn’t believe the son of the Lion Beastman Tribe’s chieftain was so cheap. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes inwardly.

’If I’d known this kid was so unreliable, I would have found someone older to come with me!’

"Boss, my body is so itchy!"

"Me too..."

Yan Tai rubbed his still-unsatisfied stomach and glanced at his two subordinates. "How many days has it been since you showered? You really have the nerve to say that!"

The subordinate scratched his head. "No, it’s where my wound is! The spot where you gave me that big bruise a couple of days ago..."

He lifted his shirt to look, and the bruise on his body had miraculously disappeared!

Hearing this, Yan Tai paused for a moment before it dawned on him. "I get it now. It must be that little female’s Healing Superpower, right?"

"I heard she has a Healing Superpower and that the food she makes can cure some physical ailments."

The two Lion Beastmen touched their previously injured spots in amazement.

It was really completely healed.
