Beast World: From Villainess to Cub-Raising Chef

In the nick of time, Bai Su lunged to the side, evading the attack.

Thankfully, Rabbit Beastmen are naturally agile and excel at dodging. Otherwise, she really would have been bitten!

When her first strike missed, the maid cast aside all pretense. Her bestial nature erupted as she lunged toward Bai Su, attacking with both her snake head and tail.

Bai Su quickly pulled a life-saving dagger from her system inventory.

The maid stabbed at her vital points repeatedly. Bai Su gripped her dagger, and just as she was about to counterattack, the door was thrown open. A giant white snake lunged in, bit down hard on the maid, and instantly tore her in two.

The maid writhed on the ground for a moment before going still, her unblinking eyes fixed on Li Chenlin.

Bai Su discreetly returned the dagger to her system inventory.

Li Chenlin tossed the maid’s corpse outside, not even deigning to eat it.

Outside, servants hurried forward to clean up the blood and mangled remains from the floor.

Bai Su sighed in relief and sat back down on the bed.

Li Chenlin, his face dark, glared at the woman on the bed. "What’s that mouth of yours for? Don’t you know how to call for help?"

Bai Su scoffed, looking at him mockingly. "Weren’t you enjoying the show from outside? I thought you’d be thrilled to see two females fighting over you."

Li Chenlin was taken aback, his eyes narrowing dangerously. ’He had underestimated this little female.’

’She’s so perceptive. She actually heard me outside.’

’It was true. He had been lurking outside ever since their conversation began.’

’He hadn’t interrupted the maid because he, too, was curious whether she could get Bai Su to soften up.’

’Shouldn’t she at least have guessed at the sheer scale of his wealth, that his influence spanned the globe?’

’Even the maids had volunteered to come from the Southern Country to serve him. Their constant, subtle fawning and flattery should have made his status obvious.’

’And those two Level 7 Beastmen—he had torn them to shreds right in front of her!’

’He had displayed his appeal in every possible way, yet she remained completely unmoved. She only ordered him not to kiss her, and even dared to run to the bathroom and vomit, as if he disgusted her.’

Seeing him standing at the door like a statue, Bai Su couldn’t help but roll her eyes, turn over, and lie back down on the bed.

With a wave of his hand, Li Chenlin ordered everyone to withdraw.

Taking the hint, his assistant closed the door on the way out.

Bai Su was lying in bed, about to fall asleep, when she suddenly felt the mattress beside her dip. A warm, woody scent instantly enveloped her.

Her body instantly tensed with vigilance, and she turned her head to meet a pair of excited, serpentine eyes.

"Li Chenlin, what are you doing?" She quickly grabbed the blanket, holding it up as a barrier between them.

Li Chenlin’s lips curled. He rolled over and pinned Bai Su beneath him, bracing his hands on either side of her. "I just suddenly decided I don’t want to wait anymore. So what if you don’t like me now? You’ll fall in love with me eventually."

Bai Su raised her hand and slapped him across the face. "Get off!"

Li Chenlin took the slap full-on, not dodging or flinching. He seemed even more excited. "Susu, I’m so curious. What will it take to make you submit? What will it take for you to lie beneath me willingly?"

Bai Su rolled her eyes at his words. "You’re sick. If you want to play the overbearing CEO, go find your maids and do it with them!"

Li Chenlin pressed down a little, feeling her small, soft, slender body through the blanket. "Susu..."

’She was a plump little rabbit, but to a massive snake, she wasn’t even a mouthful.’

’She was so petite.’

Bai Su’s hands pressed against his chest. "You want me to be willing? Dream on! A selfish, domineering, and completely unsympathetic snake like you... only a female Snake Beastman could ever like you!"

"Is that so..." Li Chenlin stared at her sinisterly, a strange glint in his eyes, as if her words had given him an idea and he was pondering some complex problem.

His gaze made Bai Su’s scalp tingle. "What... what are you doing?"

Li Chenlin’s lips suddenly curled, his gaze growing ever stranger. "Nothing. Get some rest."

He kissed Bai Su’s forehead, then got up and left the room.

Bai Su froze, unable to process what had just happened. ’That’s it?’

The system couldn’t help but snicker. [Host, were you hoping for something else?]

Bai Su rolled her eyes mentally. [I can’t be bothered with that psycho.]

She asked again, [Can you find out what’s going on with Lu Tingyan? I’ve been on this ship for almost a week, and he still hasn’t found me.]

The system replied, [The distance is too great. Host, Li Chenlin didn’t take you to the Southern Country, and you aren’t in the Federation either. You’re in an uncharted region of the deep sea. It’s unlikely anyone will find you anytime soon.]

Bai Su let out a long sigh. [Alright...]

The system added, [And... uh, Host, your heat is approaching.]

Bai Su: [...?]

The system explained, [This is why Rabbit Beastmen need a Beast Husband as soon as they come of age. Your heats are quite frequent, occurring about once every two to three months.]
