Bablo brought the food back to the Disabled Tribe and distributed it among them.

Just as he expected, many of those who ate the food reported subtle changes in their bodies.

The lower the Beastman’s Level, the more obvious the changes.

However, the amount of food they received was limited.

Bablo excitedly hugged his younger brother. "There’s hope! As long as we have Miss Bai’s food, you’ll all be able to recover to your peak condition! Returning to the battlefield isn’t just a dream!"

His younger brother, Kong Ji, also grew excited. "That’s great, big brother!"

Not far away, Bi Yue, daughter of the Bear Clan Leader, Bi He, happened to be arriving with her attendants to pay a visit to the retired, disabled soldiers.

When she saw them cheering happily together in a cheerful crowd, she couldn’t help but be taken aback.

She asked an attendant beside her, "What are they so happy about?"

She had rarely seen these disabled people so happy ever since their injuries prevented them from returning to the battlefield.

A smirk touched Bi Yue’s lips. She straightened her back and led her people over.

She had her attendants distribute the cans of food.

These were all expired cans she had collected from the military depot’s warehouse.

Kong Ji, a leader in the Disabled Tribe, wheeled himself over. "Miss Yue, what brings you here?"

Bi Yue looked down on them condescendingly. "I’ve come to bring you some supplies."

She looked at the child, displeased. "Food that ’Sister Bai Su’ makes? What have you all been eating lately?"

’The Bai Su he mentioned... it couldn’t be the same Bai Su that Bai Xue was talking about, could it?’

A flash of disgust crossed Bi Yue’s eyes.

Bablo quickly tried to explain, "Miss Yue, please calm your anger. The child is young and doesn’t know any better. He’s just talking nonsense."

"I was just about to report this to the Bear Leader. We’ve discovered that the delicious food made by Miss Bai Su can heal their old injuries, so I wanted to recommend her to the leader..."

"Insolence!" Bi Yue snapped, glaring unhappily at Bablo.

’So the Bai Su they’re talking about really is that lowly female Bai Xue mentioned—the one who opened a restaurant in the Jing Suburb as a gimmick to try and get back into high society.’

’If Bai Su hadn’t ruined things by drugging someone back then, she would have been engaged to the esteemed Lord Yelias, the heir of the Lanton Family.’

’It’s all that bitch’s fault!’

’When Bai Xue told her that Bai Su had returned to the Federation and opened a restaurant in the Jing Suburb, she was so furious she almost stormed over to smash the wretched place to bits.’

’She just never expected Lu Tingyan to actually take her side.’

’Her poor friend, Bai Xue. She had liked Lu Tingyan so much when he was down on his luck, and she’d always stood up for him.’

’He’s such an ungrateful bastard, casting aside the understanding Bai Xue to debase himself by falling for that bitch Bai Su!’

Bi Yue never thought Bai Su’s reach would extend all the way to her Bear Clan Tribe’s military affairs. How could she tolerate that?

She backhanded Bablo across the face. "You imbecile! Bai Su is a vile, unscrupulous female who was expelled from the Federation! How dare you bring back the things she makes to feed these cripples?"

Bablo, having been slapped, didn’t dare to show his anger and simply lowered his head. "Miss Yue, I believe there’s been some misunderstanding. Please allow me to report to the Bear Leader before..."

"Do not mention this matter again!" Bi Yue berated him. "It’s common knowledge that Bai Su puts illegal drugs in her food. Only a bunch of idiots like you would believe her."

Bablo tried to argue back, "No, that’s not it. The supreme leader already clarified the matter. It was actually the Bai family..."

Another crisp slap echoed, forcefully cutting Bablo off.

Seeing his brother being slapped repeatedly in public, Kong Ji was filled with grief and indignation but felt powerless. He could only secretly tug on Bablo’s sleeve, signaling him to stop talking.

Bi Yue was a Level 6 Bear Beastman and a female, and her father was the leader of the Bear Clan Tribe.

Unlike other females, she had always been competitive. Bi He had raised her to be a commander since she was young, and she possessed considerable military command abilities, holding an important post in the army.

Therefore, in every respect, her status was far higher than that of other Beastmen in the military.

Bablo could only swallow his indignation and shut his mouth. "Yes, Miss Yue."

Only then was Bi Yue somewhat satisfied. She swept her imperious gaze over the others. "You are merely disabled, not beggars. Don’t just stuff any strange food you’re given down your throats."

"People who don’t know any better might think we’re mistreating you, the way you’ll eat anything!"

"If you get sick from eating it, other people will just blame us."

"You bunch of idiots are a burden on the Bear Clan Tribe. Haven’t you caused the tribe enough misery already?"

Aside from the Bear Clan Leader, Bi He, who genuinely wanted to care for these disabled veterans, most others in the Bear Clan held grievances against them.

The crowd silently lowered their heads, saying nothing.

The sight of their lifeless expressions irritated Bi Yue. With a cold snort, she had her attendants dump the supplies.

Before leaving, she shot another vicious glare at Bablo. "If I find out you’ve brought any more of that random junk back to feed them, you’ll be dealt with by military law!"

With that, she turned and left with her people, not looking back.

The expired cans and tattered, donated supplies were left strewn on the ground, as if tossed to beggars.

Bablo’s hands clenched into fists, his body trembling with rage.

Their disabilities were all sustained in the defense of their country.

If they hadn’t used their bodies to block the artillery fire of the Southern Country people back then, how could the Federation enjoy the peace it has today?

For Bi Yue to treat these retired, disabled Beastmen like this... it was truly disheartening!

Bi Yue returned to the tribe and knocked on the door to Bi He’s office.

Bi He was busy with military affairs. When he saw her enter, he took off the reading glasses perched on his nose. "How did it go? Were the supplies delivered?"

Bi Yue nodded. "They were delivered. And they were very grateful, Father. When have I ever let you down?"

Bi He smiled, then pinched the bridge of his nose as if nursing a headache, and looked back down at his documents.
