Lu Tingyan’s heart ached for her. "You’re exhausted, aren’t you?"

Bai Su shook her head. "I’m fine, I’m fine. It’s just my face that’s stiff."

’I have to go back to the restaurant tomorrow and open up.’

Fortunately, now that she was here, he could see with that eye again.

Bai Su suddenly thought of something. "Have Bablo and a few others come to my place as guards. They can take shifts."

"Bablo?" Lu Tingyan’s eyebrows shot up, a sharp look in his eyes. "Who?"

Bai Su shot him an amused look, gently patting the side of his cheek with her paw. "Who else could it be? He’s the guard you assigned me."

Lu Tingyan stared at her, displeased. "I’ve assigned so many people to you, and he’s the only one you remember? Why? Is he that handsome?"

Bai Su nodded. "He is quite handsome."

Without another word, Lu Tingyan tossed his head, knocking the little rabbit off. He then opened his maw and scooped her up, the pressure of his teeth carefully controlled so he held her securely without causing any harm. "Hmm?"

He had caught her by a ticklish spot, and she couldn’t help but squirm. "I was wrong! I was wrong!"

She quickly confessed, "It’s because Bablo said his brother is a disabled veteran who retired from the military, and that he regained some feeling in his legs after eating my food! I was thinking that if he comes to help out more, I could send some food home with him every day. It’d be great if it could help his brother’s condition."
