Gu Yun’s clear reading voice was pleasing to the ear, and Li Pan slowly sipped her tea, flipping through a book in her hands. It was rare for her to have the mood to sit down and enjoy her small courtyard. After two years of transplanting, planting, and nurturing, the courtyard had become a rural floral scene, just like she had dreamt it would be.

Come noon, Li Pan and Gu Yun ate in the house while Gu Ye finished eating and took food out to the fields.

In the afternoon, someone from the base delivered the fruit trees they requested and the money they had exchanged for grain, as well as some extra flour.

“Daddy said it’s time to bring water to the fields.”

Gu Yun came over with a carrying basket.

Li Pan put the items and bowls into her space and took Gu Yun to the fields to deliver water to everyone.

“Time for water.”

Xue Dong called everyone together to have a drink.

Both farms were working quite quickly and were almost done with replanting, though the harvest would be delayed by a month this year.

Including Xue Dong and Li Pan, the team consisted of nine people, all to protect her.

The base offered high-level superpower users a separate payment and income. Lei Ming nudged his teammate with his elbow, giving him a sharp glance, then turned back with a smile to speak to Li Pan.

“I’m just kidding, girl. We are all family here; no need for formalities.”

“I know all you brothers are here to help me.”

Li Pan smiled sweetly.

“Let’s set off.”

As they entered the outskirts of the forest, their pace was quicker than before. The outskirts didn’t offer much, so they didn’t waste time and headed towards the center. Only high-level superpower users dared to go there. Middle-level users didn’t have the qualifications; it was too dangerous.

Throughout the journey, Li Pan was kept in the mid-rear position, ready to turn back and run at any moment.
