After Apocalypse, I Got Rich With Superpower

Qin Jianzhong and Jiao Ming, among others, were scattered across various farms serving as primary leaders, directing and arranging everyone to perform their duties. Those who fought were on the front line, while the ordinary people or low-level superpower users were responsible for logistics and other miscellaneous tasks.

"You go ahead and don’t worry about home. I’m here, and when I’m not by your side, you have to take good care of yourself."

Xue Dong was worried, yet he couldn’t leave the farm; he had to prioritize the bigger picture.

"Don’t worry, Uncle Pei has always been by my side protecting me."

"I’m off."

Li Pan waved her hand and traveled back to the base through the treehouse.

When the base residents saw her again, they all breathed a sigh of relief. Without her, everyone felt scared and worried.

Her Space Barrier was really useful, and everyone believed she should be here to protect them all.

In fact, the rationale behind this belief didn’t matter much; the will of the people was the rule.

Going against public opinion would result in backlash, and no matter what, you had to do what was needed without questioning what others thought. There were too many people in this world who would emotionally blackmail you.

Someone tried to barge into her tent but was stopped by the soldiers.

Her tent, shared with Uncle Pei, was separate and guarded.

"I would like to ask Lord Li to heal me."

"That injury of yours isn’t serious. Don’t disturb Lord Li’s rest. She still needs to protect all of us and hasn’t rested at all. You can get free treatment at the medical center."

A superpower user nearby frowned slightly.

Li Pan hadn’t fallen asleep and heard everything, but she didn’t go out or bother responding.

"But that’s really slow. I want to recover quickly. She has the absolute Wood Element healing. What’s wrong with her treating me?"

"Shut up!"

"Keep it up, and I’ll throw you out."

Pei Yuan heard them and came out of the tent, glaring at the nonsensical man in front of him.

"I—I didn’t say anything wrong."

"She has done everything she could. She’s also human – she needs rest, she needs to breathe, she’s not your private nanny, get lost!"

Pei Yuan was furious.

"Exactly, you’re being too much. She’s already done a mass healing for everyone just now. It’ll be fine in a few days. She needs to recover her superpower to maintain condition, to protect us all better. She gave up her own farm to protect us, and here you are, harassing her over a small wound, really infuriating."

"Exactly, what nonsense!"

Many superpower users angrily denounced the man.

The man, his face red and neck bulging from the scolding, had no choice but to walk away, cursing under his breath.

Pei Yuan was furious, "Everyone, don’t come to Li Pan for everything, we have a medical room. She’s human too and needs rest. She gave up her own farm to protect you all. What has she done to leave you dissatisfied? To morally kidnap like this, there’s a difference between humans and beasts."

"Don’t worry, Venerable Pei, we understand," someone said reassuringly.

"Have someone bring some food over, she’ll need something to eat to regain her energy when she wakes up."

Shortly after, the Base Commander got wind of the incident and specifically mentioned a few words over the broadcast.

"Li Pan, as a Zhenhua level superpower user, is not obliged to stay here, but she chose to remain and protect us all, appreciating the base’s cultivation and her own contributions. However, I hope the public doesn’t take it for granted as nobody owes you anything. Don’t assume others’ contributions are your due, or don’t blame me for throwing you out to feed the mutant animals if you think that way. Use your brains properly."

The Base Commander scolded without mincing words, which deterred those with sick minds from acting arrogantly.

If Li Pan really got annoyed and left, they wouldn’t be able to deal with the beast wave.

The Base Commander’s face turned red with anger in his office.

"A bunch of lunatics, where did this argument suddenly come from? Find out who’s stirring trouble behind the scenes, and arrest them all."

The Base Commander slammed his fist on the table, furious.

"I think some remnants have been instigated. Plus, Pan’er has a mild temperament, tends not to argue with others, and will give in if she can. She also never competes with others for anything, which has led many to take advantage of her, thinking she’s easy to bully," said Gao Wenbin with a cold laugh, there are always plenty of fools around.

"Never mind all that, arrest them all, and later send them to the mines," he said.

"We must protect Li Pan and Pei Yuan at all costs. Without them, we’re all done for."

"Xie Ling and the others are still producing it. Pan’er brought back a batch, not much, but we gave out what we could. The farm is also doing its best. Without our protection, the farm’s workers are organizing to fight on their own."

The Base Commander took a deep breath, "How bad are the losses? Can we save the Spirit Plants? Do whatever possible to preserve them. If the farmland is lost, we can offer support later. I can reallocate funds and resources from the family if needed, but the Spirit Plants must be saved. That’s Pan’er’s hard work; she’s put so much effort into it."

"The Spirit Plant Area is fine for now. When I requested separate protective equipment there, we installed four layers of defense. We set up separate power poles and other devices, and even if the farmland is impacted, the Spirit Plant Area can maintain its own barrier. The problem isn’t too bad. Otherwise, we’d be in trouble today," Gao Wenbin said, quietly relieved that the equipment they had purchased with Li Pan, which they got for a good deal due to buying in bulk, turned out to be a wise decision.

"Hmm, I expect they’re struggling; they bought one less layer of protection than us. I don’t know if they’ll hold up."
