"DIIIIEEEEGGG!"

A barbarian roar echoed out to White, whose grin widened as he raced forward on his horse towards him.

It appeared that a physical clash was inevitable, but 3 meters away.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

The crimson spear tore forward with speed, and all at once it ripped through the neck of the barbarian whose eyes followed it too late.

White reached him three seconds later, grabbing the shaft of the spear, and all at once he ripped upward into the sky, splitting the barbarian’s head into two as brain matter splashed all over.

A blue light instantly rose up from the barbarian’s corpse, entering into White, who felt his strength increase.

It was just like the first test:

The more he killed, the more his strength returned to him, and so began a devastating war.

The sound of piercing rang out as his spear tore forward, ripping the head off a barbarian.

BAAAANG!

Another rammed into him from the side, knocking his horse away, only for a hole to be blown through his heart.

White flickered, appearing behind the barbarian and ripping out his spear from behind him.

Barbarians surrounded him from all sides, but there was no fear.

The spear spun in his hands with terrifying speed, forming a domain where anything that came close suffered the fate of being reduced to pieces.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!

An incredibly powerful roar echoed from the distance, the ground shaking heavily as though an earthquake was rapidly approaching his direction, but it was no earthquake.

It was another barbarian, the tallest of them all, standing at exactly five meters in height and holding two massive pitch-black axes in both hands.

Skulls were woven together like chains and worn around his neck like accolades, a wide grin on his face as he slammed into the barbarians in his path, stomping some to death whilst racing towards White, who took a single step back before,

BOOOOM!

The ground caved in as he rushed forward with insane speed, cleaving barbarians into pieces with his spinning spear before leaping into the sky.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!

A terrifying roar blasted towards him as he fell downward towards the barbarian, who also jumped into the air, nearly a meter high, before both hands shot back and then,

CLEAAAAAVEEEEE!

The two massive axes cleaved upwards towards White, who in return jerked back his hands and brought down the spear with every single ounce of power left in him.

KAAABOOOOOOOOM!

The brute force of the collision was enough to blow everything around them away, clearing a radius of nearly ten meters.

White was blown higher into the sky, yet when he descended,

VRRROOOOM!

VROOOOOOOOM!

VROOOOOOOOOOOM!

A total of five strikes came down so fast it sounded as though there were only three, descending upon the Barbarian Warlord, who resisted all of them with a single axe, driving himself into a crater from the sheer force of the attack, but then,

CLEAAAAVE!

His second axe cleaved outward with insane speed and connected directly with White’s chest.

RIIIIIP!

BUUUUURSTT!

Blood splashed into the air as the armor was ripped through, and White was flung backwards, slamming into a barbarian and crushing its spine as it instantly fell dead to the ground.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Boisterous laughter escaped the lips of the Barbarian Warlord, who didn’t bother to chase, one axe resting upon his shoulder while the other pointed directly at White.

"To challenge me, Warlord ViVergil, in a direct duel!? You are either mad beyond reason or eager to throw your life away."

He declared as White rose back up, turning towards the struggling barbarian crawling away with its broken spine.

PUCCCHI!

His spear tore downward into the barbarian’s neck, killing it in a single strike, an action that left a sour expression on the warlord’s face.

"Gone Mad orCourting Death?"

White muttered, the spear spinning in his hands once more before he settled into a stance, focused crimson eyes staring at the barbarian.

"You can say both!"

BOOOOM!

The ground caved in once more as he rushed forward towards the Barbarian Warlord,

CLAAAANG!

CLAAAAANG!

CLAAAAAANG!

Theirs was a relentless, brutal exchange.

The barbarians, true to the reports, were a terrifying calamity. Easily they ripped Igasus soldiers apart, carving entire lines of devastation through the battlefield.

But the Igasus soldiers, though weaker and less experienced, were unrelenting.

Witnessing their beloved commander battle the Barbarian Warlord deep within the enemy ranks, surrounded on all sides yet each clash echoing louder than the previous, ignited a raging flame within the hearts of even the youngest and most inexperienced soldiers.

Many threw away their lives just for a chance to help their battle squads break through the barbarian lines.

The casualties were immense, with the majority belonging to the Kingdom of Igasus, but as the hours passed, the barbarians began to weaken and slow, their corpses piling higher and higher.

The poison they had consumed at the beginning was finally catching up to them, and when exactly five hours passed, creeping silence began to take hold of the battlefield closest to the Igasus Kingdom Gate.

But four hundred meters away...

BAAAAAAAAANG!

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

Another heavy clash erupted, and a figure clad in crimson armor was once more blown away, slamming across the ground three times before jumping back up, his spear digging into the earth and bringing him to a halt.

White tried to stand, only to collapse onto one knee, and the second he did,

DROP!

His left arm fell onto the ground, severed cleanly from the shoulder.

His armor was covered in axe wounds, the center of it bearing a devastating cut that had completely caved it inward, sending blood spraying out nonstop.

Yet when he raised his head, he wore a grin wider than ever before as he looked ahead.

Warlord ViVergil had collapsed onto both knees.

One of his axes had been reduced to nothing but a handle while the other was covered in cracks, and all at once both dropped from his hands as his massive palms reached for his neck.

Blood came spilling out quietly, a thin red line that was barely perceptible before quickly widening as a deep cut appeared across the warlord’s throat, his eyes remaining wide with disbelief.

"Im... Impossible."

It was the final strike...a suicide strike.

The puny human commander had foolishly taken a direct blow that cleaved through his entire left arm, yet as he was sent flying backwards, his right hand had moved, slashing the spear forward in that split second of being forced back and managing to slice open his throat.

"How..."

"How could I have been defeated by such a puny being...?"

This war ought to have been nothing more than a simple invasion.

A way to cure the boredom and sharpen his warriors whilst they prepared to march against another kingdom, one belonging to the Seven Kingdoms.

Yet they had been defeated, not by the original kingdom, but by one they had paid no mind to at all.

His plan to conquer the realm had been shattered, and when he stared up, he found that pair of emotionless crimson eyes staring down at him.

Eyes not filled with the joy of victory, but if anything, disappointment.

Not at his weakness, but at his failure.

They were the eyes of someone begging for entertainment, and perhaps a bit of something he could not quite understand.

"You... You truly wish to..."

The words were abruptly cut off as the spear swung forward with blinding speed, and a massive head rolled into the sky.

Immediately, the headless corpse of the barbarian fell to the ground, the severed head landing by White’s feet.

His eyes stared into those dark eyes, life rapidly fading from them, and when the final traces of light disappeared,

He placed the spear back onto his back before bending down and lifting the head from the ground.

Turning towards what remained of the Igasus Army, he quietly raised the Warlord’s head into the sky, and what followed next was an ear-deafening uproar.

"We won..."

Juntar whispered, his sword slipping from his hands and burying itself into the ground.

He stood there, one of his eyes having been blinded, blood ceaselessly dripping down his face, yet before his knees could give out, he noticed something and immediately raced forward.

Appearing beside White just as the latter’s legs gave way, Juntar caught him and helped him remain standing.

"Careful, My Lord."

He said, supporting White and guiding him forward.

The cheers had quieted somewhat, and the news seemed to have spread to the farthest corners of the kingdom, as the women and children who had been locked away finally emerged once more.

And what occurred next was a scene that broke White.

There were tears, so many tears, and so much wailing.

Many women and children were embracing fathers who had somehow managed to survive, clinging to them as though afraid they would disappear.

But those scenes made up less than twenty percent of what lay before him.

The remaining eighty percent were gathered around the dead.

Wives and mothers hugged the lifeless bodies of husbands and sons, crying bitterly, while others ran through the countless corpses piled across the battlefield, desperately searching for those they loved.

Juntar slipped away from White’s grasp, rushing to help the families, ordering soldiers to lead the children away from the battlefield, prevent them from seeing the corpse of their fathers and brothers.

But all that gave birth to was greater chaos.

"I...I thought...We won?"

"What... What have I done?"
