Commander Zoltan suddenly said, interrupting his train of thoughts.

"What?"

"Don’t try to think of a solution to that. I know it’s hard to sit with that information, and there was indeed a powerful expert in the past who tried to find one."

"His solution was to gather every supreme Human expert and try to kill the Alphanomalous creatures so they would no longer be a threat of human extinction."

he said, and to be honest, that was a possible conclusion White himself had arrived at.

"What happened in the end?"

"Humanity lost eight of its strongest experts."

he said, as White froze.

"And how many Alphanomalous Supernaturals died?"

"One."

he replied, leaving White in blank shock and disbelief.

To that disbelief, Zoltan continued.

"See, you can’t just walk into Werewolf territory and try to kill a Primordial Wolf."

"It’s essentially you trying to wage war against all Werewolves."

"And even if you do have enough power to wipe out all the Werewolves, and somehow still have enough power to kill the Primordial Werewolf after all that fighting..."

"That’s not the end of it. Alphanomalous Supernaturals aren’t just creatures. They’re balance keepers."

"When you destroy one, you upset Supernatural balance, and to restore that balance, Supernaturals gather together to destroy the one who upset it."

"That’s right, White. Supernaturals almost never unite, but the death of a true Alphanomalous is one of the rare conditions in which they absolutely unite as one."

"And when they do... there’s no stopping them."

"So unless you want to destroy humanity, please get rid of the idea of eliminating a true Alphanomalous. That will just backfire... worse."

he explained.

"But to get back on track. That’s what an Alphanomalous Supernatural looks like. And Werewolves belong in this hierarchy."

"This mission requires you to venture into an old cave where a pack of Werewolf Alphas once resided."

"Even if, according to the radar, there’s no presence of any Alphas nearby for two weeks now..."

"You’re still going into Supernatural territory. There’s no backup if anything goes wrong."

he said.

"And why is that?"

"Venturing out of territories is a serious deal for both races. If you go beyond the Great Wall and get attacked by Supernaturals..."

"Humanity won’t send backup, because doing so would upset the balance. And before you know it, ten mini-cities could be destroyed, and their corpse piles would rise like mountains."

"In short, sending backup is asking for a mini-war."

"Humanity Ascension wants to know what’s in that cave, but we’re not ready to lose a city for it."

he explained.

"So it’s a secretive mission."

White deduced.

"Get in, take the pictures, get out. No backup for errors. It’s straight-up death."

he repeated.

"And if this succeeds, you get your reinstatement."

"It’s already turning into a mini war among the higher-ups."

"The Supreme Commanders have issued the order, but none of the commanders want to send their squads there."

"If you pull it off, my name reaches them, and it silences the other commanders."

"And not only that, your name also goes to them—the Supreme Commanders."

"They’re the highest peak of absolute Human power on Earth. That’s a connection most never get even after half a century in Humanity Ascension."

he explained.

Tempting as the connection was, White didn’t feel anything from it.

Even if a Supreme Commander took notice of him, he wouldn’t suddenly be placed in equal hierarchy with them.

He would just be a messenger, listening to their orders for some little benefit.

Blind obedience to orders was one of the things that got him killed last time.

He wouldn’t repeat that.

Commander Zoltan said.

"This mothership carries one of the most quiet, discreet jets on Earth."

"You don’t have to worry about learning to pilot it."

"It has an Auto Map and an Autopilot AI, capable of taking you in and out safely."

he added.

"Then let’s get this over with."

White responded, standing to his feet.

The Great Wall.

It was the divine barricade separating the two realms on Earth.

Human Realm and Supernatural.

White stood in the center room, light pulsing beneath his feet.

He was in the cockpit, a simple wide room, and looking out, he could see the massive blue barrier drawing closer and closer.

The ship quietly pierced through it, the surface of the barrier rippling—and out from the other side, the jet emerged.

What lay beyond the barrier was both alien and familiar.

Familiar, because this wasn’t his first time venturing into the Supernatural Realm—he had done so in his past life.

Alien, because he had only done it once.

It was a deep wilderness.

Thick jungle stretched as far as the eye could see, dark hues swallowing the horizon. And far in the distance, red lines carved across the ground like giant anacondas.

But they weren’t snakes.

They were lava streams formed from the release of pure, burning volcanoes.

"Discreet Mode has been activated."

"Please refrain from releasing Essence Energy to lower chance of discovery."

"You may take a seat for comfort as the jet will now move at twice normal speed."

"Map activated. En route to Werewolf Territory."

the ship AI said.

In the next moment, White felt the glass darken further as the thrumming of the engine slowed until it completely disappeared.

The room tightened, a seat forming at the center.

White saw it—but he had no interest in sitting.

According to his memories, Werewolves had incredibly advanced hearing among all Supernaturals.

Even if the jet was silent and likely invisible, they could still pick it up through air disturbances and attack.

If that happened, he’d rather be on his feet than trapped in a comfortable chair.

And quickly enough, his fear came true.

An alarm rang out, followed by red runic lines appearing across the display.
