A thick crack spread across the surface; the trio gawked at the scene in shock. Emperal couldn’t help but mutter.

"Was it...this easy all along?"

The duo immediately shook their heads, their expression drowned in disbelief.

CRACK! CRACK!

A few seconds later, multiple cracks began to form; the once-ordinary grey suddenly cracked apart.

Under the shocked eyes of the trio, a small black claw stretched out. Its length and thickness were similar to a standard, well-fed house cat.

"Oh man~ feels good outside"

A small beastly voice echoed around the pavilion, making the trio almost jump in fear.

"W-What the fuck is this beast!?"

Thyra muttered as she took a few steps back. From the egg, a beast emerged. Well, the ’beast’ was a bit of an exaggeration.

It was about the size of a large housecat, with low and stubby legs. Built for digging!

Grey-black fur with wide strips running from the top of its head down to its spine.

Small, beady black eyes that blinked constantly, shining in...contempt for everyone in this room.

Emperal stood frozen in shock, this...this was nothing but a wild honey-badger!

The small beast turned its head towards Thyra, its eyes shining in mock contempt. It slowly raised its claw and pointed towards her.

"You there, you ugly-haired bitch. How dare you call this Elegant sovereign a mere beast?"

The moment those words echoed, all colour drained from the faces of Emperal and Ryael.

Especially Ryael.

Thyra, who was recovering from earlier shock, now stood rooted and stunned. She blinked for a couple of seconds, but then the words finally registered in her mind.

Several veins popped on her forehead, and she raised her hand. Brilliant white flames erupted as her face became as dark as an abyssal pit.

"I’ll kill this little shit"

She dashed towards the ’Elegant Sovereign’, but midway, she was caught by Ryael.

"My Lady, calm down! Please don’t give in to your rage!"

"Step aside, Ryael, today, if I do not teach this little shit a lesson. I’ll write my name backwards!"

She roared; never in her entire life had she heard those words. They hit her...deeply.

The honey-badger sneered when it saw the actions of the woman. It raised its supposedly middle finger and spoke.

"Before making those lame claims, at least be a bit beautiful. Want me to give you some good hair? Smh, but I have yet to grow down—!!"

Before it could complete its words, a strong hand gripped its mouth tightly. In the next moment, the entire pavilion blew up as a small patch of darkness.

A bead of sweat dripped down Emperal’s chin as he saw Thyra’s hair float around erratically and her eyes glow.

"W-We will take our leave! And if un—cough! Fortunately, we shall meet again!" Saying that, with the struggling honey badger in his arms.

He dashed out of the plains, his speed stunning. But unfortunately, a ray of fire shot towards them.

"Hey, smoll man, look behind! Fireworks, fireworks!"

The honey badger struggled in his arms and shouted, Emperal frowned when he heard those words.

Looking behind...what Emperal saw made him horrified!

The intense ray of the beam headed straight towards him! It destroyed everything in its way...literally.

"You little piece of shit, it’s all because of you! Now, you should be the one to handle it!"

Without hesitation, he took a pitching stance and on the count of three. He threw the honey badger towards the incoming beam.

"You smoll man! How dare you throw the Elegant Sovereign in such a brute manner!"

The honey badger screamed! But unfortunately, the moment its words ended, it straight up collided with the beam!

BOOM!!!

The moment it collided with the beam, a massive explosion occurred. Blasting almost a mile. Seeing this, Emperal joined his hands in prayer.

"We got very little time together, but it was fun nonetheless. Please enjoy your ride to hell"

He muttered a few...god knows what mantras. His expression is saintly.

But what he saw next made even the Infernal Dragon inside him gawk in disbelief.

"E-Emperal, you should probably open your eyes"

The Infernal Dragon’s words echoed, prompting Emperal to snap his eyes open.

The smoke cleared, sitting at the center, completely unscathed...the honey badger shook itself once like a wet dog and let out a small sneeze.

"How pathetic," it snorted. "Those fireworks were completely worthless, hmph! My great-great-great-grandfather’s mother farted hotter than that" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"...It’s not dead?"

Emperal muttered. At this point, the shock was too much for him to process. That beam of light had the potential to heavily injure him or, in the worst case, kill him. But there it was, sitting and joking like it just had its regular breakfast.

"Emperal, that thing is nothing but a trouble magnet. I suggest you run as far away as possible from that little abomination"

The Infernal dragon spoke, for the first time. Emperal was genuinely baffled by another existence.

The badger climbed out of the crater and dusted its fur...with exaggerated dignity and under the stunned eyes of Emperal, it waddled back towards him. Completely ignoring the smoking, ruined creature behind him.

"You"

"...Me?"

"Yes, you smoll man, this elegant sovereign has decided."

"...What have you decided?"

"You.’ it spoke, pointing one stubby claw up at him. "You have some decent reflexes for a smoll man. I have decided to give you a chance"

It spoke, making Emperal raise his brows.

"What chance?"

"Chance to carry this Elegant Sovereign, of course"

A vein popped on Emperal’s forehead, he was listening to it’s words intently, and the little shit was asking to...be carried by him?

The sheer audaciousness of this creature never failed to surprise Emperal. But...he wasn’t Thyra.

"No, I won’t. You can do whatever the hell you want. I’m leaving"

Saying that, Emperal turned his back and started walking away.

"Smoll man! This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance! Not everyone gets it!"

"No thanks"

The honey badger walked behind Emperal, seeing that Emperal was irritated to say the least.

"Heh, let’s see how you match my speed. Sol’vethrak"

A blaze of fire blasted and puff! Emperal’s was gone! The honey badger tilted its head curiously.

"You carry my mark, smoll man, how can you run away from this Elegant sovereign?"

Saying that, it raised its upper arms and stood up on two legs. Sniffing the air intently. A second later, its eyes widened.

"Ah! There you are!"
