"Lady Dresh...you looked absolutely beautiful when you smiled like that."

Dresh was shocked when she heard that; her heart skipped a beat. After all, this was the first time she had received a compliment...about her ugly side.

The barbaric and ’unwomanly’ side.

Calder snapped his head towards Emperal, his expression twisted in disbelief.

"T-This brat! What nonsense is he spouting? That demonic smile was absolutely terrifying, not to mention the brutality."

Calder muttered inwardly. He just moved to the side and looked at Dresh’s shocked face.

Dresh felt her mind buzz as she saw the intensity with which Emperal was looking at her. It was strange...

She, for the first time in centuries, didn’t actually know what to say. She opened her mouth, but no words came out.

Fortunately, Emperal snapped to his senses. His eyes widened when he saw Dresh’s expression.

"Cough, Lady Dresh, what’s next? Any news on the map?"

Hearing Emperal’s words, Dresh snapped back from her...whatever state she was in. She took a few deep breaths.

"Indeed."

She nodded and took out a black ring with golden patterns. Emperal’s gaze dropped on the item.

"Is that—?"

"Yes, it is Daereth’s."

Dresh nodded with a smile; she seemed incredibly happy as she held the ring.

"Go ahead, open it then."

With a wave of her hand, she did just that. The moment her senses swept inside the ring, a small, brown map materialized in the air between Emperal and Dresh.

To the naked eye, it seemed like an unassuming map, but Emperal’s eyes were different.

They were sharper and more sensitive than most of his peers.

With a single glance, he identified the path, zigzag lines glowed on the map as more and more Verth began gathering in Emperal’s eyes.

Dresh’s smile widened slightly when she completed the scan of the ring. Delight was a rather small word to use about how she was feeling right now.

Emperal raised his brows slightly when he saw that, "It seems Lady Dresh found something incredible."

"Hehe~ Not really incredible, but abundant. I have to say, the IronScale Dragonkins are loaded."

She passed the ring, Emperal curiously spread his senses.

The moment he did, his eyes widened.

"T-This, so much...!"

There were heaps of high-grade Verth crystals, hundreds of weapons, thousands of bottles of pills, dozens of array and formation plates, and he even saw something definitely close to a heavenly treasure!

"These motherfuckers! Did they bring their entire treasury or what?"

He couldn’t help but mutter, wealth, he had of course seen. More than anyone, if truth be told.

But that was seeing; it wasn’t truly his. It was Vraelyn’s.

And now, through his own planning and efforts. He had obtained so much, though he would only get fifty percent of it.

"Well, the IronScales do have and own the biggest weapon market in Draventhar, and that woman...the youngest wife of the patriarch, would of course be loaded."

From behind, Calder spoke with a nod. It was a knowing nod.

Emperal froze when he heard that, "What? Wife of the patriarch?"

Emperal asked, feeling a chill run down his spine. Calder looked at him in confusion.

"...Yeah? You didn’t know?"

"Just great, now I have another target on my back, and it is none other than one of the strongest clans in Draventhar."

Emperal sighed, much to the amusement of Dresh.

"Don’t worry, my I have nearly wiped out every single one of them present in this base."

Calder shook his head when he heard that, "Lady Dresh, before I was captured. There was another Verth Shaper who led an exploration team towards the inner regions."

A pondering expression fell on both Dresh and Emperal when they heard this.

"Hmm, don’t worry. If I encounter them in the inner regions...I’ll wipe them out for good this time."

Dresh’s smile widened, her forest green eyes flickering into something dark for a brief moment.

Emperal nodded in relief when he heard that. He didn’t notice her look.

"So? When do we leave?"

Emperal asked, while speaking, he glanced at Calder from the corner of his eye.

Dresh smiled when she heard that, looking at the map that was still floating. She waved her hand.

Another similar piece of paper suddenly materialized by its side. Without hesitation, Dresh released her Verth and fused the two pieces together!

"We, of course, leave right now~!"

She said, looking at Emperal. Her eyes shone as they reflected the figure of Emperal.

"Hmm, Calder, what about you? What are you gonna do now?"

He asked, his dark eyes shining curiously. After all, he knew close to nothing about Calder after they had parted ways in Dawnreach. How did his cultivation rise so high? How did he awaken that...deadly poison? And lastly, this guy’s state was clearly far from stable.

"I—I have some other things to do, and those are quite important."

Calder shook his head and sighed. Emperal narrowed his eyes when he heard that, just as he was about to open his mouth—he closed it.

At the end of the day, he could only do so much to help him. He had to figure things out himself.

Taking a deep breath, he nodded. "Alright then, if that’s the case. Keep this."

Saying that, he waved his hand. A small ring was thrown at Calder, who grabbed it with confusion.

"What is this?"

He couldn’t help but ask, out of respect, he chose not to look into it immediately.

"Nothing much aside from some basic stuff. Alright, let’s leave now, Lady Dresh."

He turned his head to Dresh, who was waiting quietly. Her eyes narrowed slightly as the contents of the ring registered in her mind.

But, of course, she didn’t speak. Nodding at Emperal’s words, she waved her hand. And alongside Emperal, they both disappeared in the haze of wind. Leaving Calder alone in the forest.

He stared at the spot for a long time, and for the first time in months. A small genuine smile spread across his face.

"I really have made a good friend, Mother."
