A short while after the woman left, Mu Chen emerged from his room. He went to the room next door, knocked, and called out, "Miss Xian’Er, are you there?"

Part of it came from the soaps, but another, subtler fragrance wasn’t from any external source. It was her own unique, natural scent, which had simply been masked because she hadn’t been able to bathe often recently.

Mu Chen looked up and saw Wan Xian’Er. Her expression was as frosty as ever, but her eyes held a trace of shyness. He felt a little awkward as he handed her the ring. "It’s just some everyday clothes. I haven’t seen the styles, so I hope you can make do."

Wan Xian’Er nodded. She took the Storage Ring from him and whispered, "Thank you." Then she quickly shut the door, leaving a baffled Mu Chen standing in the hallway.
