As if having reached a decision, the two Level 3 Moon-Loving Greedy Wolves threw back their heads and let out a long howl. At the sound, all the other wolves raised their heads and wailed in sorrow. Soon, half of the Moon-Loving Greedy Wolves split off from the pack. These were the ones who were grievously injured, having all but lost their ability to fight. Their eyes held a deep sadness, yet also a shocking resolve.

The separated Greedy Wolves then formed pairs and, before Mu Chen’s and the others’ eyes, did something they had never witnessed before. They tore out each other’s throats. With a series of ragged howls, the wolves collapsed to the ground, twitching uncontrollably. The remaining wolves, those who could still fight, prostrated themselves before their fallen kin. Then, at the command of the two Level 3 Greedy Wolves, the survivors rushed toward the downed pack and began to drink their blood.

The sight left Mu Chen and his companions dumbfounded. A moment later, something bizarre occurred. The Moon-Loving Greedy Wolves that had drunk the blood of their kin went berserk. A powerful surge of Primordial Power erupted from their bodies with a WHOOSH. Their lustrous silver fur instantly turned crimson, and their cold, bloodshot eyes locked onto Mu Chen’s group with pure hatred.

Qing Lei’s pupils contracted. The scene reminded him of an exceptionally cruel Secret Technique, one that was also widespread among humans. It was called "Bloodthirst."

The requirements to activate Bloodthirst were incredibly simple: as long as a kinsman willingly sacrificed their own blood, the one who drank it would have their power tripled. This power was temporary. The recipient would only have half an hour of berserk time, during which they were nearly immortal. But once that half-hour was up, they would explode and die. With a sharp cry, Mu Chen snapped open his Profound Jade Fan with a CLANG. He channeled his Extreme Ice Attribute Elemental Power, condensing it over the fan’s surface. A layer of pure, ice-blue energy coated the black jade, and the surrounding temperature instantly plummeted. The Water Attribute Elemental Power in the air began to swirl chaotically as crystalline snowflakes materialized from thin air, transforming the area into a Snow Realm.

It was hard to believe. A thick layer of snow now covered the sun-scorched mountain peak, yet even under the direct sunlight, it showed no sign of melting. The charging Greedy Wolves bogged down in the deep snow, their speed drastically reduced. However, the frenzy in their eyes only intensified. They struggled desperately forward, guttural, rumbling sounds issuing from their throats.

His Primordial Power circulated as he slashed the Profound Jade Fan through the air. Ice-blue energy gathered on the Fan’s edge, and a shimmering, ice-blue arc of light shot forth. With a sharp SLICE, it struck the nearest Moon-Loving Greedy Wolf.

SQUELCH!

The arc of energy tore open the Moon-Loving Greedy Wolf’s chest, but it failed to deal a fatal blow. Droplets of crimson blood splattered onto the snow, staining a large patch red. The wounded wolf seemed to feel nothing, continuing its mechanical charge as its exposed ribs scraped through the snow.

Even Mu Chen’s expression faltered at the sight of such a frenzied assault. He waved his Profound Jade Fan rapidly, sending a flurry of ice-blue energy arcs flying forward like a storm of sword strikes. Every attack found its target, but even when a Moon-Loving Greedy Wolf was slashed to the ground, it would immediately scramble back to its feet and resume its charge as if it felt no pain.

Ye Shuangshuang and Mo Qing couldn’t help but frown as they watched the relentlessly advancing Moon-Loving Greedy Wolves—creatures with missing limbs and exposed viscera—draw ever closer. Their faces paled slightly. The scene was bloody and nauseating, and the two young women found it difficult to stomach.

Just as Mu Chen was at a loss for what to do, Qing Lei spoke up softly from behind him. "Leader, you can’t kill the Greedy Wolf pack with conventional attacks while they’re using the Bloodthirst Secret Technique."

Mu Chen turned his head. "Then how can I finish them off for good?" he asked.

Qing Lei glanced grimly at the zombie-like wolf pack, then held up two fingers. "Two ways. First, the Bloodthirst Secret Technique only lasts for half an hour. If we can hold out that long, they’ll explode on their own. But as things stand, that doesn’t seem feasible. I don’t think we can last that long."

Mu Chen remained silent. Mo Qing, Ye Shuangshuang, and Little Tiger all stared intently at Qing Lei, waiting for him to explain. Qing Lei offered a faint smile. "Actually, there’s another, much simpler method, one that you can easily perform, Leader." Seeing Mu Chen’s confused expression, Qing Lei continued, "Do you remember the Ice Seal Skill you used on me when I lost control?"

Mu Chen started. "You mean... I should seal them in ice?"

Qing Lei nodded. "Exactly. But not to kill them, just to temporarily seal them in ice. Back in my family’s library, I read some books on attribute amplification. They said that combining powerful Ice and Fire Attribute Elemental Power can produce immense destructive force. If you use your Ice Attribute Elemental Power to freeze these wolves in their Bloodthirsty State, and then have Shuangshuang attack them with her strongest Fire Attribute Combat Technique, the conflict between the Ice and Fire Attributes will cause the elements in the surrounding space to go haywire, triggering a massive explosion. The force of that blast would be no less than a full-powered strike from a High-level Martial Spirit. Wiping out these Moon-Loving Greedy Wolves would be child’s play."

The group was overjoyed at Qing Lei’s words. Mu Chen nodded. "If that’s the case, we have no time to lose. We have to finish them off quickly. If the Wolf King completes its advancement, we’ll never make it out alive."

With that, Mu Chen’s fingers moved deftly, and his Profound Jade Fan snapped shut with a CLANG. With a THUD, he plunged the fan into the ground beside him. He glanced at the twenty Moon-Loving Greedy Wolves, now less than ten meters away, and his expression hardened. Extending his left hand with his palm open, a current of bone-chillingly cold Ice Attribute Elemental Power began to swirl around him. As his Extreme Ice Attribute Elemental Power pulsed, the Water Attribute Elemental Power in the air began to fluctuate violently in response.

Before anyone could react, Mu Chen called out, his brow furrowed. "Shuangshuang, now! I can’t hold so many Magical Beasts frozen for long!"

Ye Shuangshuang was jolted back to her senses and her hands began to fly through a series of seals. Suddenly, a scorching aura erupted from her body. Mu Chen watched her in astonishment. He could sense that the aura of her flames was even more intense than that of Vice Dean Di Cang.

Ye Shuangshuang’s eyes snapped open. An eerie purple flame erupted from beneath her feet, instantly enveloping her. She threw her hands wide and thrust them upward, crying out, "Nine All Burned!"

The moment she finished speaking, the snow-covered mountain began to tremble violently. A huge, purple circle materialized beneath the twenty frozen Moon-Loving Greedy Wolves. The circle radiated an intense heat that instantly vaporized the layer of snow Mu Chen had created.

"Break!"

With another sharp cry, the twenty purple circles flared with a blinding light. BOOM! Twenty pillars of purple fire erupted from the ground, shooting into the clouds and staining the azure sky a violent shade of violet-red.

In that instant, extreme heat and extreme cold converged. The Ice and Fire Attributes in the surrounding space began to riot violently. Startled, Mu Chen snatched his Profound Jade Fan from the ground and yelled to the others, "Run!"

The group unleashed their Primordial Power, springing from the ground and fleeing the mountain at top speed. As he left, Mu Chen quickly used his Storage Ring to collect the bodies of the more than one hundred dead Moon-Loving Greedy Wolves before retreating with the others. They didn’t stop until they were a thousand meters away. The moment their feet touched the ground, the space around the mountain peak, now shrouded in both extreme cold and scorching heat, suddenly distorted. A dazzling white light erupted, illuminating the entire mountain basin as the five of them watched in horror.

Mu Chen stared blankly at the aftermath, utterly aghast. ’Qing Lei was wrong,’ he thought. ’That attack absolutely surpassed the power of a High-level Martial Spirit. It was verging on the Martial King Level.’

Qing Lei was equally dumbfounded. He had no idea why the combination of Ice and Fire Elemental Power had produced such a colossal explosion. Still, at least the result was a good one.

But the most surprised of all was Ye Shuangshuang. ’Only I know the true level of my Fire Attribute. It’s the Six Yang True Flame, a power that borders on the Extreme Fire Attribute. This flame can evolve six times: red, purple, black, gold, and finally, white. Once it reaches its highest form, white, its power is on par with the Extreme Fire Attribute itself. But just now, in the instant of the explosion, my Six Yang True Flame was instantly crushed by an irresistibly powerful Ice Attribute.
