It was shocking to find out there were people just as hated as she was out in the middle of nowhere. She was family to the Wolf Queen, which was strange because most of the queen’s family were married off and in good standing with each other. Not that there weren’t any feuds, just nothing that she knew was life-changing.

Wondering how well the woman knew the wolf queen Lily made a mental note to seek her out before they left. Dimitri was impressed by the way Lily handled the situation. She could have been much harsher, but held back and told the absolute truth. Watching her as she ate her meal he wondered if some of the skills and diplomacy she was showing were taught or natural talent.

The meal was fairly quiet from this point as most kept their comments to themselves finishing their food. Everyone went to rest in their own rooms once they were done, some went with others while she and Dimitri went to their room. A servant was waiting for them with towels. "We have an open-air hot spring just outside your room. If you would like to bathe and relax in it you are more than welcome too."

After a long day, a hot bath sounded like paradise to Lily as she thanked the servant taking the towels from her. Turning to Dimitri, he was already stripping naked, moving towards the door for the outdoor hot springs. He stopped at the door, all that defined muscle flexing as he turned his head to ask her something. "You coming?"

Dazed from watching him undress Lily shook herself hearing his voice. "Yes, just one second." She started to strip down, leaving her cloths in a pile on the floor following him out the door. The spring was secluded with a bamboo fence around the area giving them some much needed privacy.

Seeing a place to rinse off they walked over to it using the bucket to rinse down with. Lily started rinsing down her legs as Dimitri rinsed her back. The water was relaxing as she finished, then tied up her hair. Turning to Dimitri, she did the same for him rinsing him off as he washed the day away.

She watched him as the water cascaded down his body as she poured the water over him the sight entrancing her. She always felt attracted to Dimitri wanting to touch every inch of his skin, curious about how he will react. When ever her hand grazed of her him, she heard his breath hitch slightly. Smiling at his reaction she continued to rinse him off until he held up his hand that he was done.

Dimitri grabs her hand tugging for a moment before she followed him into the pool stepping into the steaming water. Lily gasped from the heat then sank down into the water feeling her muscles relax in the water. Dimitri pulled her closer to him as they found a seating area with in the water next to the edge. Lily wanting to be close to her mate climbs into his lap staying as close to him as she could.

"All those people...gone. I would have been torn up inside if you or all my family died in one year. I wonder how that woman was related to the wolf queen?" Lily had seen all the damage done and the gravestones in the graveyard. So many souls were lost because no one would help them.

"I don’t know, but to banish her here with no explanation. That’s harsh even for the wolf queen. She always seemed to be more interested in her family than following protocol." Thinking back Lily remembered every time the queen’s family came to visit. Tylan would seek her out trying to bully or boss her around. Lily ignored him reminding him that if he stopped her from completing her work he would receive the punishment, not her.

Most of the time he would try to make her go out of sight so he could trap her in a corner where no one could stop his advances. The creep knew she couldn’t fight back without getting into trouble. The other members of the wolf queen’s family only came to visit on supposed "special occasions". 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

She avoided them at all cost or else she would never get any work done with them bossing her around. The wolf king would yell and beat her when she was finally free of them. He didn’t care that they took up her time to work he still needed the work done. The wolf queen would just watch with evil glee in her eyes as Lily took a beating.

"The wolf queen wasn’t always happy with her family, but she used them to cause havoc when they came to the Palace. It would cause me to be beaten more with them around. Then the queen would be annoyed and irritated that they were there and send them off. I never could figure out what she was really doing."

"And Max didn’t try to stop any of this?" Dimitri wanted to know if this soon-to-be king was worthy of the title he was about to take. "Sometimes he did. Right before I left the Wolf Clan Alisa had beat me thinking I ruined a dress of hers. She left me like that after the wolf king had also slapped me around for messing up his paperwork. So I was already messed up, but Max saved me from the real beating Alisa was going to give me in front of the Wolf court."

Dimitri knew the man had a backbone but refused to use it believing his word wasn’t as strong as his father’s. Max and Vestis didn’t act the same way or even look similar either. "What if Max wasn’t his actual son?" Lily thought about that remembering all the times he helped her.

"That’s a possibility since Vestis came here after I was born and Max is older than me by almost a decade. It’s still unclear how he came into being the Wolf Clan King too. Just how is he getting away with all of it?" Dimitri held her tight feeling her tense up from past memories of that place. He would never let her fall into their hands again. They didn’t want her only the skills she could provide.

"It’s not important at the moment and he is far from us now so we can focus on us and our mission. I saw you taking notes before when you visited the homes in the village. Did you see or find anything that might help us?" Dimitri was stroking her back and touching her arms and legs calming her down as she leaned into him more.

"Yes, there were a lot of things that could help, but none that tells us where the source of the toxin is. That’s what’s killing everyone, because they are closer to the forbidden territory they are more at risk for death and other complications." Hearing this Dimitri was glad he sent for aid as these people had no one looking out for them.

The moonlight was shining down on them as they bathed, the glow of the night showing on their skin. Dimitri touched her arm as the markings began to appear but more subtly this time. "Lily look at your arm." Looking down she saw what he did, astounded that the moon would react to her this way.

However, Lily started to feel a certain power start to take over as she could feel and sense everyone and everything around her, even the toxins in the water. Listening to the power inside she slowly lets it creep out of her, purifying the toxin as the waters became clearer with the more area she covered.

Reaching for the power she pushed more of it out watching the toxin disappearing or being pushed away from the area her power reached. Lily started to feel the drain the power usage was having on her so she pulled back taking a deep breath before she started to feel relief again from the hot water on her muscles.

"What did you just do?" Dimitri watched as she glowed more feeling, her power spread all around them then slowly back to her when she looked up at him. "I cleared the area of the toxin, I think. I haven’t done it before and I wasn’t sure it was possible, but I really want to help these people."

"Just don’t lose yourself in the process. I don’t want to risk you, not for anyone. I finally found my treasure and I’m not giving you up just to save a village. I know that’s selfish, but you’re my mate. I want you to be careful when trying things with your powers. Even your goddess powers." Dimitri wanted her to have proper training before she used power that could potentially kill her.

"I will, and maybe I’ll ask my mother for some advise on what I can try or do. I want to know what I can do." Lily was determined to masters her powers so no one would take advantage of her. However with the way Dimitri was rubbing her body down he had other ideas about taking advantage of her.
