Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

In his predecessor’s memories, the Loft Clan wasn’t a Wizard Clan, but an Extraordinary Clan with a century of history.

But unfortunately, as a member of a branch family, he had not awakened his Extraordinary Bloodline powers.

That was why his predecessor, so eager to become an Extraordinary, had gone to the Ghost Soul School for an interview. Even after being rejected, he hadn’t given up and chose to become an Intelligence Officer instead.

’Still, it wasn’t wrong for me to say my family had a Wizard who returned from the Ghost Soul School... I guess an apprentice counts, right?’

"Are you sure it’s the Ghost Soul School?" Lisi asked, frowning.

Wei’en nodded. "I’m sure. Is there a problem?"

"It’s nothing. As long as it isn’t a Wizard from the Blood Spirit School, you’re fine," Lisi said, breathing a sigh of relief. "Otherwise, those people from the Dawn Church will be on you like lunatics."

"The Dawn Church?"

"I heard that the Blood Spirit School and the Dawn Church had a falling out a long time ago. Their relationship is still terrible to this day."

Wei’en had a flash of recognition. He’d seen that before—some Great Mage from the Blood Spirit School had put a bounty on the corpses of the Dawn Church’s Holy Professionals.

’They really shouldn’t advertise on a legacy manual like that,’ Wei’en thought. ’And the offer is long-term, too...’

"No wonder your knowledge of the Gonzalez language is so profound," Marco said with a smile, patting him on the shoulder.

In his mind, those Wizards from the schools were all incredibly powerful.

It was just that their personalities were hard to grasp—stuffy, pedantic types... or so he assumed.

"What’s this about Gonzalez language research?" Somlay looked at Lisi. "Is he really good at it?"

Lisi shot him a glance. "What’s it to you?"

Hearing her response, Somlay’s eyes lit up. "Better than Professor Helvin?"

"Of course not. I mean, look at his age," Lisi lied, then asked, "Why are you so interested?"

"Never mind."

Somlay pursed his lips; he wasn’t about to reveal his intentions. "Come on, little apprentice, I’ll show you what we’ve got."

Wei’en followed calmly, unbothered by Lisi’s fib.

’Anyway, any future Gonzalez translation tasks from the Secret Investigation Department will end up in my hands eventually.’

’After all, for the same pay, one person takes two hours while another takes three days. Anyone with a brain knows who to choose, right?’

"Wizards from the Ghost Soul School are mostly active on the Northern Continent; they’re rare here on the Eastern Continent. But that’s just relatively speaking. As it happens, our Secret Investigation Department has a few ghost-related items in its collection."

"Uh, Somlay, I’m not actually set on something from the Ghost Soul School... As long as it’s an item related to Wizards, that’s fine."

Ever since he learned about the level-two mission reward that morning, Wei’en had been planning.

First, he ruled out equipment like armor and weapons. His power wasn’t high enough for those things to be of much help.

Second, he ruled out materials. Those things were just as strange and could even cause mutations, so he couldn’t use them for the time being.

The only remaining options were knowledge-based Era Relics and some tools with special abilities.

So from the start, his objective had been clear.

Somlay gave him a look. "Seems you’ve put some thought into this. Let’s hear it."

"Over there," Wei’en said, pointing to the display shelves on the left side of the treasure room. "I want to look at the Era Relics."

"An excellent decision."

The gut-wrenching feeling that he was about to lose a precious treasure instantly vanished from Somlay’s heart.

Those Era Relics were impossible to read and impossible to use. Other than taking up space and gathering dust, they were completely useless.

If it weren’t for a special directive from the Secret Investigation Department, the Property Management Department would have moved these Era Relics into storage somewhere else long ago.

"But I must warn you, many of the relics here are contaminated. If you can’t understand what you’re looking at, it’s best not to touch anything."

Wei’en nodded. He was well aware.

But he had already spotted a very interesting volume—*The Growth Story of the Mechanical Mage Jerry*.

It was a book bound in soft leather. The cover was somewhat worn, revealing yellowed pages within.

The cover was stamped with a complex design that looked like a rune, or perhaps an insignia. It appeared ancient and mysterious.

Clearly, it was a Wizard’s Manual.

Wei’en walked straight to it. He carefully enveloped his hands in Spiritual Power before grasping the book. The last thing he wanted was for a Mechanical Puppet to jump out of the manual.

’That would be just awful.’

Somlay didn’t stop him. In fact, when he saw which manual it was, he was delighted. ’Score!’

The contents of that manual were the only thing in the collection the Property Management Department could actually understand.

It was called a Wizard’s Manual, but compared to modern mechanical knowledge, the information related to Mechanical Mages inside was basic at best.

In reality, apart from a few common Mechanical Puppets from the Fourth Era, the rest was just incomprehensible runes and mechanical blueprints.

In short, it was the unfinished lab notebook of a Mechanical Mage.

"This will be one item."

The moment he opened it, he saw the four Gonzalez words at the top of the first page and knew this was what he needed.

The four words meant: *Apprentice Period Experimental Notes*.

"No problem," Somlay agreed readily, as if afraid Wei’en would change his mind. He pulled a registration form from his pocket, wrote down the manual’s name, and said, "Sign here."

Wei’en signed his name, then looked over the other Era Relics. After finding a parchment related to Magic Potions, he said, "I’ll take this one."

The other relics were either useless notes or hymns of praise, of little use to him.

"You sure?" Somlay asked, raising an eyebrow.

Wei’en nodded. "I’m sure. This is the one."

"As you wish."

This parchment was one of the relics the Property Management Department couldn’t decipher.

It was covered in strange diagrams and untranslatable Gonzalez text. They could only confirm that it was related to Magic Potions.

After he finished logging the item, Somlay reminded him, "Once you choose, there are no returns or exchanges. Even if you can’t understand it, you can’t... Wait a minute. Do you actually recognize what’s on this?"

"Not at all. I just want to study the Gonzalez language."

Wei’en, obviously not wanting to give anything away, put the parchment away with the Wizard’s Manual.

"Well then, I hope you succeed in translating it. When you do, our Property Management Department..."

Somlay didn’t finish his sentence, asking instead, "You have one more choice. What do you want?"

Wei’en took his time picking, finally settling on a Storage Ring under Somlay’s impatient gaze. It only had two cubic meters of space inside, just enough to store some miscellaneous items.

In truth, if his choices weren’t so limited, he would have loved to take some of the alchemy equipment.

But unfortunately, they all had their own individual Rune Arrays and were considered precious collection items...

Once Wei’en had made his selections, Somlay all but "kicked" them out of the Property Management Department, slamming the large doors shut behind them as if he couldn’t stand the sight of them.

"Hmph. Next time I see him, I’m going to teach him a serious lesson."

Lisi kicked the door in frustration, though not too hard.

She was worried that if she actually broke it, those bastards in the Property Management Department would make her pay for the damages...

"Let’s go. Time to head back."
