According to those records, the Loft Clan’s Extraordinary Bloodline was obtained by its founder after he stumbled into some ruins and acquired it through a bizarre ritual array.

"A sacrificial ritual?"

"That’s just the process of acquiring the Extraordinary Bloodline, not the source of its power. The truth is, they all acquired their Extraordinary Bloodlines by fusing with tainted flesh and blood."

Wei’en’s eyes glinted. "So it’s true..."

He’d had the same suspicion before.

A rather obvious example was Captain Alianna. When she used her Extraordinary Ability, she looked just like some kind of aberration.

’And Marco’s transformation with the Blood of Chaos is the same.’

"However, most Extraordinary Bloodlines today were obtained during the Old Calendar. Back then, quite a few people acquired bloodline abilities passed down from the previous era."

"The Old Calendar? The previous era?"

A rare, serious expression appeared on Clelia’s face. "The Old Calendar was the chaotic, lawless period after this era began but before the New Calendar started. And the previous era is the Fourth Era."

"In fact, the Old Calendar wasn’t short; it lasted nearly a thousand years..."

Wei’en’s gaze sharpened. "A thousand years?"

’I remember the clown said last night that 3,383 years have passed since this era began, right?’

’A simple calculation would show that the Old Calendar’s duration was even longer than the New Calendar’s—1,805 years, to be exact...’

’But Clelia just said it was only a thousand years. What about the other eight hundred?’

"Then how did the New Calendar begin?"

"The New Calendar..."

Clelia’s eyes flickered, and she changed the subject. "We’re getting sidetracked. In short, the Extraordinary Clans aren’t as glamorous as they appear. What they do is just a desperate measure for survival."

"..."

’There she goes again, only telling half the story.’

Clelia gave him a deep look. "I look forward to the day you join the Eternal Life Association! Don’t eat dinner tonight; I’ll bring you something."

With that, she leaped into the shadows and vanished.

"Join the Eternal Life Association..."

’I’d rather not. It doesn’t sound like a good choice.’

Wei’en shrugged, put the matter out of his mind, and went back to brewing the Enlightenment Potion.

’As for Clelia saying she’d bring food... I’ll believe it when I see it. Didn’t she flake on me last night?’

Wei’en worked until after nine o’clock before he finished brewing all the Magic Potions. Gazing at the perfect-grade Enlightenment Potion glowing on the table, he thought, ’Looks like I won’t have time to make the sniper rifle this morning...’

He stored the Magic Potions in his Space Ring, cleaned up the workbench, and left the workshop.

Wei’en remembered Flanta’s invitation. He had to attend that small gathering in the Nightmare Realm World tonight. It wouldn’t be too late to sell the Magic Potions then.

He could work on modifying the sniper rifle and revolver after he got back from the gathering.

A short while later, he made some breakfast and went up to the attic to wake Tina, who was still fast asleep.

"Tina, wake up."

The white-haired girl didn’t seem to notice she was in a different room. After getting up and dutifully washing up, she picked up the demonic clown puppet and quietly ate her breakfast.

Wei’en also called out Miss Zombie, who had been hiding in the bedroom, and had her sit at the dining table.

’In his opinion, if they were all living under one roof, they should all be together.’

Looking at the group gathered around the dining table, Wei’en ate his butter-braised snow mushrooms and thought with self-deprecating humor about this strange setup.

’A terrifying disaster species who looks cute but is actually reclusive, and a demonic clown puppet that looks harmless but is actually a terrifying forbidden object.’

’And then there was him, a Ghost Mage with four source children.’

’Relatively speaking, among everyone at the table, Miss Zombie, an Undead Creature, was ironically the most normal-looking one...’

’If you threw the elusive Clelia into the mix, this residence would probably strike fear into the hearts of most people.’

"We’re leaving, Shawa."

Miss Zombie withdrew her gaze, which had been fixed on the white-haired girl, and bowed slightly. "Goodbye."

Wei’en left with Tina. Just as he locked the door to his residence, he heard an anxious voice from behind him.

"Wei’en!"

"Dr. Yuan, you’re back?"

The person who had called out to him was none other than Dr. Yuan, who had been away for two days. His face was etched with anxiety as he asked, "Never mind that, let me ask you—where’s Kali?"

He had returned to the clinic this morning and discovered that Kali hadn’t come home all night. Even her bed was cold.

Wei’en recalled noticing before nightfall yesterday that Kali hadn’t returned. He offered a casual reassurance, "She went on a mission with Captain Lisi yesterday. Maybe she just didn’t have a chance to come back yet."

"A mission?"

Yuan’s expression relaxed slightly, but he followed up with displeasure, "She’s still just a kid. How can they let her stay out overnight? I’m going to go talk to Yegor about this later."

"Don’t worry, Captain Lisi is very strong. Nothing will happen."

’Besides, that Guardian Knight is always with her. If Sister Kali were really in danger, knowing Melbel’s personality, she probably would have caused a huge commotion last night.’

"That’s not acceptable. What if my Kali... No, there are no ’what ifs’."

Yuan spat, as if to ward off the bad thought. Only then did he notice Tina standing next to Wei’en. He forced a slight smile. "We meet again. Tina, is it?"
