Flanta said nonchalantly, "For Wizards from our two schools, the power of a Mutated Mage doesn’t necessarily offer much of an improvement."

"That’s true."

Wei’en watched the two of them boast and secretly curled his lip.

’One is a Mechanical Transformer from the Mechanical School, and the other is a Blood and Flesh Transformer from the Blood Spirit School. Aren’t they pretty much the same as Mutated Mages anyway?’

"Alright, Luo Ke, I still need to take His Excellency Faceless elsewhere." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"See you at the next gathering."

"Goodbye."

With that, Wei’en followed Flanta and browsed around some more.

By the time the gathering ended, he hadn’t found any other useful trades.

According to his original plan, he wouldn’t have minded trading some of his knowledge in runology or alchemy if he came across anything interesting.

’In the end, this was all they had?’

"...And with that, I’m very happy everyone could attend today’s gathering."

The Nana Mage from the Spiritual Mystery School stood on the high platform, a smile in her eyes. "I trust everyone has gained a lot today. I hope that at our next gathering, we can see even more research findings on Mutated Mages."

"The time for our next gathering will be decided by Tren Mage..."

As Wei’en listened to the summary of the gathering, his gaze remained fixed on the Ghost Soul School Wizard named Tren, pondering how he could establish contact with her.

"Um, Flanta, do you happen to know Tren Mage?"

"You’re hoping to...?"

"I’m very interested in some of the Ghost Soul School’s knowledge, especially concerning the red moon. I’d like to communicate with her more," Wei’en said, offering an excuse.

"Then leave it to me. I once recovered a... um, a mutation, I mean, from her."

"..."

’The words "Holy Professional" were on the tip of your tongue. As if I’d believe you.’

"Then I’ll have to trouble you, Flanta."

He didn’t have to wait long before Flanta respectfully brought Tren Mage over.

"Tren Mage, allow me to introduce you. This is..."

This time, before he could finish, Wei’en spoke up: "Faceless."

"His Excellency Faceless, you’re interested in the knowledge of the red moon?"

Tren sized Wei’en up with great interest. Given the reputation of the Ghost Soul School, it was rare for Wizards from other schools to approach them willingly.

Wizards from the Mechanical School and Spiritual Mystery School, in particular, loathed ghosts to the extreme.

As for the reason... better left unsaid.

Undead transformation was a form of magic that every Wizard of the Ghost Soul School had to learn after advancing, its purpose being to maintain the population of Undead Creatures in the Undead Realm.

But other schools were rarely interested in Undead Creatures, let alone undead transformation.

"I know a little, mainly because..."

Wei’en glanced at Flanta with feigned hesitation. "It’s a bit inconvenient to speak here. I was wondering if it would be possible to speak with you alone, or to establish a line of contact?"

Seeing him act so mysteriously, Tren thought for a moment and said, "It’s too late today. How about this: we’ll sign a trade contract in a moment, and I’ll give you one of our Ghost Soul School’s unique communicators."

"However, it’s not free. You’ll need to buy it. The price is 20 gold pounds."

’A communicator?’

’Is it that trophy-like "telephone"?’

"No problem, I agree."

"Very well, let’s sign the trade contract..."

Before long, Wei’en and Flanta set a time for their next trade, and Wei’en left the Nightmare Realm World with four trade contracts in hand.

Back in his familiar workshop, he couldn’t help but break into a smile. This gathering had been truly fruitful.

Not only had he established contact with a Wizard from the Ghost Soul School, but he had also secured a rather profitable business deal.

Hearing the sound, Wei’en quickly activated the card and opened the triangular box.

One after another, Nightmare Worms crawled out of the box, spitting out the various items from his trades.

There were several scrolls of parchment, 20 portions of materials for making the Suppression Potion, metal for making a Mechanical Puppet, and the gold pounds from Flanta for the Enlightenment Potion...

Then, Wei’en placed the Enlightenment Potion and the money for the communicator into the box.

Thankfully, he had earned 54 gold pounds from selling the Magic Potion; otherwise, he really wouldn’t have been able to pay the 20 gold pounds to Tren Mage.

KNOCK KNOCK.

Wei’en looked at the so-called communicator the Nightmare Worm had spat out, then looked at the "telephone" on his workbench... If not completely identical, they were nearly the same.

However, the communicator from this trade was clearly two sizes larger and was black all over.

’Could it be because of the distance?’

An Intelligence Officer’s work tools were, at most, for contacting a superior Liaison Officer. The distance between Caster City State and Klande City State wasn’t great, but the distance between the Eastern Continent and the Northern Continent was clearly much, much farther.

Wei’en had to hand it to the Ghost Soul School for their various forms of black magic-tech. The "typewriter," the "blue and white box," and the "telephone" were all clearly unique to them.

And these were just the standard-issue tools for an Intelligence Officer. One could only imagine what kind of equipment other departments had.

He looked at the black communicator, and after a moment of thought, he put it away.

That Tren Mage had already said that tonight was inconvenient, so he would just contact her another time.

Besides, he needed to properly plan what kind of story to cook up to pry more knowledge about the Ghost Soul School out of Tren.

As for whether he’d be discovered... well, what did the actions of Faceless the Alchemist have to do with him, Wei’en the Intelligence Officer?
