With that, he tidied up his workshop and went upstairs to rest.

On his way past Tina’s room, Wei’en deliberately opened the door to peek inside. Seeing the white-haired girl lying flat on her back, fast asleep, he carefully closed the door and returned to his own bedroom.

Wei’en was startled awake by the pungent smell. ’How did I end up back in that guest room at the Snow Tavern... Huh?’

Just then, a rustling sound came from all around, like someone whispering in his ear, or perhaps just the wind blowing erratically outside the window...

In the silent room, it sent an inexplicable chill down his spine.

"What was that?"

Wei’en frowned. ’This isn’t my first dream. I’ve even been to the Spring of Dawn Faith, so what’s a small room like this?’

He looked at the wooden door to his left, listening intently. ’Is someone knocking?’

The person outside seemed to have heard him, as the knocking escalated into frantic pounding.

The jarring sound made the surrounding walls vibrate, making the scene even more bizarre in the darkness.

Wei’en sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the wooden door without moving. He was curious to see who was behind this trick.

Suddenly, shrill, mocking laughter cut through the night.

He casually closed the door and backed away slowly, keeping a close watch on it.

"The Demon Clown?!"

The Demon Clown gave an elegant bow, pressing a black top hat to his chest, his left foot forward and right foot back as he bent slightly.

He wore a cracked clown mask, with blood-red lipstick drawn in a smile that stretched all the way to below his ears.

Beneath the mask was a chiseled jaw and a pair of eyes that flickered between madness and deathly stillness, brazenly sizing up Wei’en.

"You..."

"Aren’t you going to say hello?"

The atmosphere in the room grew heavy and oppressive, as if every inch of air was saturated with madness.

Wei’en swallowed hard, taking a deep breath to force himself to calm down, but his voice was still a bit hoarse. "Good afternoon, Mr. Clown."

"I still prefer to be called Leonard. Don’t you think?"

"Alright, Mr. Leonard..."
