The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate

"Please ensure these goods are distributed to everyone listed," Zenna instructed the pack’s gammas. "I expect a full report once the task is completed."

"Understood, Luna," one of them responded before the five-member team set off to carry out her orders.

Just as she turned to take a seat, a servant approached, bowing slightly. "Luna, Sir Gregor is here to see you."

Zenna nodded and rose from her spot in the gazebo, making her way toward the mansion. However, as soon as she stepped into the living room, she halted abruptly.

Gregor was there, as expected—but so was Radulf.

"Here comes my beautiful wife!" Radulf greeted her with a warm smile, his gaze locking onto hers.

"Weren’t you supposed to be working, Radulf?" Zenna questioned. She crossed her arms and gave him a pointed look. "I told you not to leave things unfinished."

Radulf didn’t respond immediately, merely watching her as she sat beside him.

Shifting her attention to Gregor, she asked, "Would you like something to drink?"

"Nothing, thank you," Gregor replied.

Radulf leaned back and asked, "So, why are you here?"

A slow smile spread across Gregor’s face. "I found my mate."

Zenna gasped, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Oh my god! Who is she? Do I know her? How did you meet?" She leaned forward eagerly with anticipation in her voice.

Radulf turned his head slightly to observe her reaction as amusement flickered in his eyes.

’Did she ever react this way to us, Black?’ he asked his wolf.

’Never,’ Black responded dryly.

Meanwhile, Gregor chuckled at Zenna’s enthusiasm. "I met her last night," he revealed. "Her name is Aster Westwood, and no, you don’t know her. I found her in an unexpected way. Last night a report came that a wolf entered our territory, and when we chased for her, I found out she was my mate."

Zenna listened intently as Gregor spoke about his mate, her expression softening with genuine happiness.

"A rogue is your mate?" Radulf asked, his brows slightly raised. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"She’s not a rogue," Gregor corrected. "She’s simply without a pack. The one she belonged to banished her months ago. Since then, she’s been wandering on her own."

Zenna’s eyes shone with warmth. "Oh, Gregor, I’m so happy for you. You two were meant to find each other," she said, her bright smile reflecting her sincerity.

Gregor exhaled in relief. "Yes, and now I don’t have to worry about Princess Aria troubling me anymore."

Zenna’s brows furrowed slightly. "Did she approach you again after you refused her proposal?"

"No. Even the Alpha King didn’t pressure me," Gregor replied. "I was concerned that Princess Aria might push the proposal using her father’s influence, but thankfully, that never happened. It seems our pack’s reputation was enough to deter them." He smirked. "Forced marriages never work, after all."

At his words, Radulf arched a brow and turned his gaze toward Zenna, as if expecting a reaction.

Zenna, however, remained silent.

Breaking the momentary silence, Radulf leaned back and casually announced, "We’re leaving for a trip tomorrow."

Gregor’s eyes widened in surprise. "What? Really? Where?"

Radulf smirked. "That’s a secret. For four years, we haven’t had time for each other. I was at war, and Zenna was handling the pack. Now, we’ve decided to take a few days away—just the two of us."

Gregor nodded approvingly. "That’s a great idea. I hope this trip helps you two grow closer." He glanced at Zenna, noting that she looked far more at ease than she had in the past.

Radulf tilted his head slightly, his eyes lingering on Zenna. "Though we were forced to be each other’s companions, things are going well between us," he remarked, watching for her reaction.

Gregor chuckled. "You two are mates. In my case, Princess Aria wasn’t my mate—that’s why I spoke against forced unions. But your bond is different."

"I agree. I also remember the punch you landed on my face for hurting your friend," Radulf remarked, recalling it.

"You deserved that punch. Even you admitted it," Gregor stated. "Zenna, does he trouble you? You can tell me any time," he pronounced.

"Radulf, I want to talk in private with Gregor. I will see you in the chamber later," Zenna informed him and stood up. Radulf didn’t stop her and watched her leave. Gregor wondered what she wanted to talk about in private and went behind her.

In the gazebo, Gregor stopped and saw Zenna standing with her back toward him. She was looking at the lake on the other side. Approaching her, he stopped next to her and asked, "What did you want to speak about in private?"

"Don’t say such words before Radulf," Zenna said.

"What words?" Gregor asked with a confused gaze.

"That if he troubles me or if this marriage was forced," Zenna stated.

"Why? Will he get angry at you later?" Gregor frowned.

"Radulf bore a pain that no one can even imagine. Even I," Zenna paused as she rested her hand on her chest, "failed to see that pain. I expected him to remember me when my own father took everything from me. It wasn’t easy for him to move on, Gregor. And why would he have even done that? My father took his everything in just a single day. We all misunderstood him. His hatred for me was legit. This marriage was definitely forced, but only for Radulf. For me, it was a key to my freedom from the cold palace."

Gregor hummed, his facial expression turning serious. "I know, Zenna. I have witnessed what he has undergone," he stated.

"Did no one object to my father’s decision that time?" Zenna inquired.

Gregor shook his head. "Everyone was scared. I am surprised Radulf made it out alive. The charges against his father could have ended their entire family lineage. But Radulf was spared," he stated.

"Oh. But now, Radulf loves me. I am so happy to find him, Gregor. You need not worry for me anymore. He even returned me the ring," Zenna stated with a smile and showed her left hand to Gregor.
