The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate

Zenna hesitated for a moment before thinking the same as before. Her eyes would avert from her in between. "Did you hear it again?"

Radulf shook his head. "You didn’t put your heart in it while speaking," he said. "Never mind. We should stop here."

He turned around and walked away to cool off his mind.

"Did I make a mistake?" Zenna murmured and poured a glass of water for her. She almost swayed by him. And what was that touch? She liked it and wanted more. While sipping the water, she thought, ’Now, he may tease me all the time to think like that. Will I be able to refuse his advances now? I think I’m too harsh on him.’

Placing the glass of water on the table, she argued to herself, "He is attracted to my body instead of me. I do feel the mate bond is the reason for the sudden shift of his behavior. And the brutal words he said to me so many times, can’t be forgotten easily."

Radulf, who was in the huge balcony, heard Zenna’s thoughts and even voice. "I can hear her again," he murmured. "But why is her wolf not speaking? Why is it her who’s communicating so far?"

’I want to hear her wolf’s voice, but I need to wait,’ Black thought.

’She has extraordinary strength, Black. She is going to beat us in strength once she shifts,’ Radulf said amusedly.

’We are all in to lose against our mate,’ Black remarked.

’Let’s see how long it takes. However, one thing is clear. She is so broken from inside that her wolf disappeared before it could even see the light,’ he thought.

Looking at the night sky, Radulf walked back into the living area, where Zenna was present. Radulf called in a servant first after ringing a bell and ordered her to send the dinner for them.

He turned and glanced at Zenna, who had her eyes glued on him.

"Do you want to say something to me?" He sat across from her.

"Is Gregor doing well? You didn’t tell me anything about him," Zenna reminded him.

"He looked fine to me. Gregor didn’t tell me whether he had a mate or not. I didn’t pester her more and told him to come to me if he needed any help. I’ll help him because of you," Radulf pronounced.

The servants walked in with trays in their hands. They set the dinner table for them and left after informing them.

"Let’s have our dinner. It was a tiring day," Radulf proclaimed and headed toward the table.

On the bed, Zenna kept her back toward Radulf and he did the same. There were no advances from his side and it confused Zenna. ’He left me hanging. My heart says he’s silent because he wants me to speak first.’

As Zenna slowly turned her head, she got startled seeing Radulf had his face toward her.

’You are right. I want you to speak first,’ Radulf thought after hearing her.

Zenna stopped blinking when she heard his voice in her head. "How?" she whispered. Promptly, she brought her hand to her mouth.

"Can we talk through a mind link?" Zenna asked him.

"We can," Radulf replied.

"Let’s do this once again," she said with a gentle smile playing on her lips. ’Can you hear me?’ Her eyes remained glued to him, but there was no response from his side. ’Radulf, it’s me, Zenna. Say something if you can hear my voice.’

Radulf decided to be playful and didn’t respond intentionally. Zenna kept switching her words to something different in the hope he could hear her and respond. Five minutes passed, but no response came.

"I think it works sometimes, not all the times," Zenna murmured with a dejected tone.

"Maybe it works after you do something," Radulf suggested.

"What do I need to do? I tried to speak in my mind with you," Zenna argued.

"Maybe you need to touch me, kiss me or pamper me just the way I did," Radulf affirmed.

Her breath hitched, but then, it was the only way. "Close your eyes and don’t do anything," Zenna told him.

"I have no intention to do that," Radulf stated.

She hummed and moved closer to him. She kissed his lips, which didn’t even last for a second. ’Will it be fine? I don’t think so. I need to do more,’ Zenna thought. This time, she nibbled his lips while her hand cradled her neck.

Radulf’s mind raced with a thought, ’How could I not touch her?’ He kissed her with growing need, savoring the softness of her lips beneath his.

But Zenna, feeling the intensity of the moment, pulled away, only for Radulf to swiftly flip her onto the mattress, his body towering over hers. His eyes darkened with desire as he leaned in, his lips brushing against her ear as he spoke in a low tone.

"I told you not to..." she began, but was cut off as Radulf silenced her with another fierce and demanding kiss.

"Stay quiet," he murmured against her lips. "Do you really think I could stop now?"

His hand moved intentionally slow to capture hers and guided it to his chest, encouraging her to explore the warmth of his skin. At the same time, his other hand slid down her waist, fingers grazing the smooth curve of her body before slipping down to her thigh.

Radulf’s touch was gentle, his fingers tracing the outline of her nightdress as he slid them up her leg. The sensation of his fingertips brushing her soft skin caused her body to arch instinctively, and her breath caught in her throat.

He let go of her hand and worked at the knots of her nightdress. Their mouths remained locked together, a passionate connection that Radulf was unwilling to break at the moment.

"Radulf, no!" Zenna pushed him away while gasping for breath. "I don’t want to do this. Please," she urged him. "Forgive me, but I cannot do this."

Radulf gulped, realizing he was already hard. But going against her wish wasn’t wise. He tied knots on her dress and pressed a tender kiss on her forehead before moving away and sliding back to his place.

’I need to win her, instead of expecting her to give in to my advances,’ Radulf thought.
