Peerless Perverted Actor Has a Celebrity Harem?!

Chapter 33: Saint’s Lantern: Corrupt Judge

Park liked it already.

He was going to test it eventually, although preferably without poisoning himself or getting drunk before an audition.

’Being gifted does not require behaving like an idiot, despite what celebrity biographies appeared determined to prove.’

The final card opened.

[Saint’s Lantern

—The Host was born beautiful and peerlessly talented, possesses a presence that compels attention and interest, drawing both negative and positive emotion.

To strangers, the Host may feel like a bright ache that refuses to leave the mind. To those with weaker restraint, the Host’s presence may become fascination, fixation or obsession.

Park read it once, then again; he leaned forward and read it a third time, just in case the useful part had been hiding behind a comma.

Nothing changed.

He sat with his elbows on his knees, staring at the card with the flat disappointment of a man who had opened the largest present at his birthday party only to discover a second copy of something already sitting on the table.

"That does not sound refreshing at all, System."

The panel floated patiently.

"Not even a little."

There was no response.

Park pointed at the card as though presenting evidence before a particularly corrupt judge.

"This is Marvelous Halo wearing a church robe."

Silence.

"Attention, fascination, envy, desire, obsession. You changed the name, added lantern imagery and expected me not to notice."

The System remained unmoved, which Park interpreted as guilt.

"A whole ability slot," he continued. "You wasted an entire slot on a duplicate ability you wholly idiot. Do you know how stingy that is?"

The floating card continued glowing with the shameless innocence of stolen property.

Park narrowed his eyes.

The effects might stack. Saint’s Lantern could strengthen Marvelous Halo, or perhaps one governed passive attention while the other intensified whatever happened after people noticed him.

There was probably an explanation somewhere, buried beneath the System’s favourite policy of allowing him to discover important details through public embarrassment.

Or perhaps it truly was a duplicate and the System had included it because nobody had ever demanded a refund before.

Either way, he kept the insult for later.

Once the annoyance settled, Park looked over all cards again and noticed something he had missed the first time.

None of the abilities gave him something completely foreign beyond what he already was.

Peerless Male Siren sharpened the voice and musical instinct already present inside his new body, Mourner’s Tongue expanded the acting talent that had been quietly frightening casting directors since he was young, Drowned Library transformed his already excellent memory into something inhuman while Flawless removed every ordinary condition that could interfere with performance.

And lastly Saint’s Lantern was still suspiciously close to Marvelous Halo, but even that lived inside a category the System had already acknowledged.

Acting.

Singing.

Voice.

Charisma.

Musicality.

On-Spot Creativity and Wit.

Before the Abilities Box, those talents had existed as grades on his Status panel as his Attributes, impressive letters sitting beside his name and doing very little to explain what they actually meant.

Now each Attribute had been given a shape, a function and a specific way to bend the rules.

The System had not taken an ordinary man and shoved talent into him.

It had taken talent already bordering on unreasonable and removed the remaining manners.

Park inhaled, cleared his throat and listened to the quiet room around him.

Testing a singing ability while alone in a mansion felt embarrassingly close to the opening scene of a low-budget idol drama, but there was no audience present to ruin his dignity, and curiosity had already wrapped both hands around his neck.

He tried a single note.

Low, soft and unhurried.

The sound left his throat, and every thought in Park’s head stopped at once.

{Am soo~~}

It was his voice from place where it formed, felt the breath moving beneath it and knew the vibration belonged to his body, yet what reached his ears was nothing like the voice he remembered...

...the note was warm without becoming heavy, smooth without sounding polished by software, and beneath its richness ran a faint emotional ache so delicate it should not have mattered.

It did.

For the few seconds the note remained in the air, the enormous room no longer felt luxurious but lonely.

When Park finally let the note fade, the silence returned with a strange sense of absence, like someone had just closed a door after saying goodbye.

He stared ahead.

"What the hell?"

The words sounded almost rude after what had just come out of him.

Park tried again, this time allowing the note to bend into a melody. He had no lyrics and no particular song in mind, but that hardly seemed to matter. One phrase led naturally into another, soft and low at first, before rising into something wider.

The tune formed while he sang it, assembling itself around an emotion he had not consciously chosen.

’Loneliness.’

But it was not the dramatic to drive men into storms or made actresses weep beautifully beside windows where paparazzi can see her.

The ordinary kind that returned after an audition when nobody had called, lived inside a tiny apartment after midnight while the rest of the city seemed to be succeeding loudly outside and had followed him for years without ever becoming important enough to name.

Park sang for less than a minute before stopping, but the feeling remained in the room after his voice had gone quiet.

He looked toward the ceiling, then slowly smiled.

If he had not known better, he would have believed he could sing the Queen out of the King’s bed and convince her that the empty place beside him on the couch was the throne she had been promised all her life.

Of course, seducing the Queen on his first day would complicate the family introduction.

’Best to wait until the second week.’

A laugh escaped him, carrying enough lingering warmth that even it sounded better than it had any right to.

Before receiving the abilities, his singing and voice had already stood at a solid AAA rank. Now he had crossed into rank S without resistance, and Park was not entirely convinced the scale would be able to hold him there for long.

The System had not simply polished his talent. It had opened every locked door inside it, kicked away the hinges and acted as though this had always been the natural condition of his voice.

Park kept his face impressively calm.

It lasted several seconds, which he considered evidence of personal growth.

Then his gaze drifted toward the mirror across the sitting room.

The young man reflected there possessed a face so beautiful; dark hair fell naturally around features too clean and balanced to feel accidental. His eyes carried the lazy confidence of someone born to be photographed, and even sitting half-slouched on a couch, he looked less like a person relaxing and more like a luxury brand pretending to be human.

Nobody was there to see him.

Nobody could record it, mock him or preserve the moment for future blackmail.

So Park allowed the grin to spread.

Slowly at first, then wider, until every trace of restraint abandoned his face and he looked exactly like a broke actor who had just discovered the universe had finally stopped laughing at him and started funding his revenge.

The Beginner Package still contained three unopened gifts.

The Insta-Boost.

The Perfect Crown.

And Spoiled by System.

Park rubbed his palms together and leaned toward the panel, his grin refusing to leave.

I appreciate you guys so much and please dont expect a righteous MC or a pathetic one at that.
