Adrian told them to spread the news and also gave them a parchment which was officially signed by him to put it at the notice board. The message was simple, he was hiring soldiers and those who wish to join can come and talk to him at any time.

Once the group of adventurers left, Adrian looked at Claire and chuckled.

"You look like you have a lot of questions but if you’re suspicious that I gave them your father’s manual, you can take a look and confirm it yourself." he said as he handed over the book to her.

Claire did not reject this suggestion and went through the manual. She closed it and gave it back before she even read through half of it.

"It really is a different one as you said." she said softly and looked at him, "So... you said that you wanted to become a knight but I don’t see you training at all."

"Right..." Adrian said and let out a sigh, "There’s just no time... most of my time is spent on learning spells, thinking about food problems and this land. Once I deal with some of these issues, I’ll annoy you to train me day and night."

Claire raised an eyebrow at him, but Adrian turned to look at Aria instead.

All of a sudden, he had a brilliant idea. He remembered that in her past life, Aria had only learned magic and became a specialist.

’What if I help her become a knight while she learns magic? Won’t she become much stronger than she used to be?’ he thought, and he couldn’t help but get excited at the idea.

He looked at Claire and grinned, "Claire, I want you to train Aria as a knight."

Claire looked surprised at his words. Usually, only dedicated knight families trained their kids from a young age. Aria was at the perfect age of five, which was exactly when most of those families started their training.

"Do you want me to teach her the same knight technique that you are giving to the adventurers?" she asked.

Adrian shook his head, "No. I have an even better technique."

He pulled out a book and showed it to her.

"This is a top-tier knight technique. It’s actually better than your True Knight’s training manual."

Claire was extremely surprised. She was about to ask him where he got it, but stopped herself. Everyone had their own secrets.

Adrian didn’t bother keeping it a secret. Or rather, he just lied to her acting like it was the truth.

"Just like the other manual, I got this at a random pawn shop. It was incomplete at the start, but I asked a few people to complete it for me and paid a huge price for it. Now, it’s a top-tier training manual."

Since the manual was lost and incomplete, he had the liberty to name it himself.

"It’s called the Sterling Knight’s Training Manual," he said as he handed the book to Claire. "You are free to use it if you want. You are my most valuable knight at the moment, after all." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Claire took the book, looking both surprised and extremely grateful. No one usually gave away their most valuable possessions, even to their loyal knights.

Aria on the other hand, was slightly pouty. She just wanted to spend more time with her father.

But since her memories and experiences were that of an adult, she respected his choice and nodded without throwing a tantrum.

"I’ll learn, but you have to promise that you will spend time with me every single day and teach me mana engineering." she said.

Adrian smiled and accepted.

"I promise. I will also practice and train with you whenever I get the time. Now, why don’t the two of you start your lessons while I go take care of other issues?" he asked and patted her head.

Aria nodded and Adrian walked inside to continue working on the refrigerator.

Once inside his room, Adrian opened up a system screen and linked it with his dungeon before he began to convert some of the mana into items.

First, he made a box out of cork. It was basically a cube without a top just to act as an experimental model.

On the inside of one of the walls, he added a steel rod that curved and coiled downwards. In other words, steel rods were placed in parallel and connected to each other so it could be a single piece of steel.

He carved continuous lines and signs into the steel rod from top to bottom. Once the grooves were finished, he connected the top end of the rod to a small engraved cup.

Then he placed a steel plate right between the coiled rod and the cork wall. He carved more grooves into this steel plate and linked it to a second cup.

He took out a single mana crystal to test the setup. Using the dungeon’s editing features, he gave the crystal an ice element. Since the mana inside the crystal was ice attribute mana, this made it much more efficient at producing ice spells.

He dropped the ice mana crystal into the cup connected to the steel rod. The rod immediately started getting colder and colder until it began chilling the air around it.

Next, he took a wind element mana crystal and put it in the cup connected to the steel plate. It started producing a basic gust spell. It was extremely slow, but it kept the cold air circulating inside the box.

Adrian went to his bathroom and filled two buckets with water before he sent those two buckets into the dungeon and placed them inside the box.

He then created a lid made of cork and attached it to one of the walls using hinges. He closed the whole thing up and waited.

A few hours passed before he finally opened the lid to check.

He looked inside and saw that the outer surface of the water in the buckets had frozen. It had created an ice cylinder that was one or two inches thick, while the rest of the water inside was still in a liquid state..

’It works...’ he thought and grinned.

This was more than enough for Adrian to understand that his prototype refrigerator was working.
