Jordan nodded frantically while he continued to scream and cry.

"I admit defeat!" Jordan sobbed. "I admit defeat!"

Adrian looked at his captain. "Take him out of here and give him some treatment."

Vaneira was incredibly surprised. She actually did not expect Adrian to defeat a knight that easily even though she had heard that Adrian had defeated Frankenstein. She had lived with him for almost six years so she knew a lot about him and due to this, she had thought that the win was just due to luck.

She looked at her husband and then looked at her general.

She knew Vekar was the strongest fighter she had and he had to go last.

But she did not want her husband to get hurt. Padrig was a third circle mage and she figured he could easily beat Adrian from a distance. She firmly believed Adrian was still stuck at the first circle,and since Adrian was clearly good at close combat, sending a ranged magic user was the smartest strategy.

So she ended up sending Padrig anyways.

Padrig was pretty confident. He was a third circle mage and this was a structured duel, not a chaotic warzone. In a regular one on one fight, a third circle mage could easily outperform a weaponless knight.

Adrian looked at the man and crossed his arms.

"I really wanted to punch you in the face when I first found out what you did." Adrian said. "But I guess the world works in mysterious ways. It automatically gave me the opportunity to kill you for all the trouble your actions caused me and Aria."

"Let’s just start fighting." Padrig smirked.

Adrian nodded. "Start."

Padrig immediately channeled his magic. Multiple sharp icicles formed in the air right behind him, but Adrian just looked at them.

A second later, the ice spears flew toward Adrian at full speed.

Right before the icicles actually hit his chest, a thick shield made of pure mana formed in front of Adrian. The icicles smashed into the barrier, shattered into pieces, and fell harmlessly to the ground.

Adrian tilted his head. "So, is that all you got?"

"Obviously not." Padrig laughed. "I just used a low level spell to test you."

"Well, there is no need to test." Adrian said. "You are a third circle mage and everyone here knows that. But here is the secret."

Adrian grinned. "I am a third circle mage too."

He reached into his pockets and brought out his steel chakrams. The sharp rings immediately started spinning flying around him.

"I took some inspiration from Marquis Draven." Adrian said as he looked at Padrig. "I decided to also train in knight techniques. So I am a knight and a mage."

Adrian pointed a finger at him.

"And I also specialize in telekinetic magic, which helps me bypass my curse of being unable to use weapons." Adrian added.

The moment he finished speaking, one of the chakrams flew straight toward Padrig.

He panicked and put up a mana shield instantly. The steel chakram slammed into the magical barrier and kept spinning, grinding harshly against it as it tried to cut through the mana shield.

"Do you really think you can keep up with the damage I can deal to you?" Adrian asked.

Padrig smiled confidently. "I can. See? Even now as I am talking to you, my shield has full mana and it is not showing any signs of cracking."

"Sure." Adrian said. "I only sent one chakram at you."

He sent the rest of them flying forward.

Six more chakrams crashed into the mana shield. They kept spinning against the mana shield but Padrig just smiled.

"Even now, my mana output is higher than the damage you are dealing." Padrig yelled and laughed, feeling like he was dealing with an idiot.

"I mean, sure." Adrian said casually. "But what are you going to do once your mana is depleted?"

For the first time, Padrig looked confused.

"You are a third circle mage just like me." Padrig argued. "So what am I supposed to be afraid of?"

"You are a third circle like me." Adrian said calmly. "But you reached the third circle recently. Which means you have not reached the limit of the third circle. I have way more mana than you because I hit the limits. On top of that, the mana I use to control these is much less compared to how much you’re using to keep the shield up."

That was when Padrig actually started getting terrified. He could feel the mana drain and he knew that Adrian was right. If he had more mana, then there was no way Padrig would win.

"I admit defeat!" Padrig yelled quickly. "I admit defeat!"

"Well, no." Adrian said. "I do not accept your defeat."

He just kept letting the chakrams spin against the shield.

"Now this is taking way too long." Adrian sighed.

He withdrew the chakrams and pulled three heavy iron balls from his storage that weighed one kilogram each. He sent them flying at the shield with as much speed as he possibly could.

The blunt force damage against the mana shield was pretty high. It was similar to the chakram damage, but because the chakrams were lighter, they relied on slicing friction. The iron balls delivered pure, crushing kinetic energy.

And over all, they had more damage compared to chakrams thanks to their weight.

And Adrian went with a totally different strategy for this.

Instead of just pushing the balls into the shield and holding them there, he made them bounce.

Hit. Come back. Hit. Come back. Hit. Come back.

He slammed the iron balls against the magic barrier repeatedly. In less than twenty seconds of rapid fire impacts, the shield cracked and shattered.

One of the iron balls pierced straight into Padrig’s shoulder. It broke the bones and exited right out the other side like it was paper.

Then the remaining iron balls did the exact same thing to different parts of his body.

Padrig fell backward onto the dirt. His heart was completely punctured, and his body had multiple large holes.
