Adrian stared at the numbers, frowning slightly.

’Why does the horned one need so much time?’ Adrian wondered.

The answer was right below the information, so he continued reading. Growing heavy, exterior bone structures packed with incredibly dense magical energy required a much longer biological gestation period compared to simply storing mana in soft internal fat tissues or existing skeletal marrow. The horns were essentially highly concentrated magical batteries that took months to properly calcify and stabilize.

Adrian nodded to himself and moved on to the next section of the data.

He checked the fur quality. The hair growing on the outside of the enhanced hide was incredibly smooth and silky. It was a premium quality wool that would make exceptionally comfortable and warm clothing. He had absolutely zero complaints about this feature.

Finally, he checked the reproductive data.

This was where the horned option completely outclassed the other two variants. The cows with the toxic horns reproduced and gave birth significantly faster than the hump or bone variants. Their fertility rates were massively elevated.

4 months of pregnancy period and 2 months of rest before the cow could get pregnant again. It aligned perfectly with the 6 months growth time so Adrian decided to go with this one.

Though, Adrian wanted to optimize this entire process even further.

He asked the system a new question.

’Can you create a completely separate monster breed for me?’ Adrian asked. ’A monster that does not need the premium meat, the magical wool, or the indestructible leather. It can be a pure monster packed with high toxicity. But it needs to be heavily optimized purely for breeding and giving birth. Can you make a specialized breeder monster that just rapidly pumps out offspring of this specific premium cow breed?’

The system processed the request for a few seconds.

Adrian slapped a hand over his face.

"Right. That is not how genetics work... Since when was I this dumb? Hmm... yeah I don’t want to know the answer to that question..." he muttered and moved back to the task at hand.

He quickly revised his idea.

’Okay, fine.’ Adrian thought. ’Can you use this exact same genetic profile but minimize all the physical resource traits? Shrink the wool growth, shrink the meat yield, shrink the leather density, and maximize the reproductive and birthing traits? I want a variant of this cow that pumps out the premium cattle faster.’

The system screen flashed.

Adrian settled back into his uncomfortable stone chair. He waited for another two hours while the system calculated the new genetic pathways.

The system finally produced the updated results.

Adrian read the new data and immediately let out a disappointed sigh.

The system explained that the genetic difference between the standard cow and the hyper optimized breeder variant was not actually that massive. The limitations were high and even the most optimized breeding variant only cut down the total growth and gestation time down from six months to five months.

’If the time difference is that low, there is no point in overcomplicating this stuff.’ Adrian decided quickly. ’I will just stick with the original horned option and breed them normally.’

He finalized his selection. He locked the genetic template of the Horned Premium Cow into his dungeon system.

Now he needed to set up the rest of the stuff so he pulled up his current dungeon mana reserves.

It had been exactly thirty days since he last actively checked the data. His mana pool had grown by an absolutely massive amount since his total population had skyrocketed since the war with Alexander.

He had the three thousand extra soldiers he absorbed from the captured city. Combined with his original troops and the new female recruits, he had a standing army of ten thousand soldiers.

His regular civilian population were pretty high from the start. In total, he had eight thousand regular citizens living in Oresfall.

That gave him a total active population of eighteen thousand people just in Oresfall and he wasn’t going to count the other city. Those people didn’t use his dungeon so there was no need for Adrian to take them into consideration.

And because knights and trained soldiers possessed significantly more internal mana than regular people, the average mana contribution per person had increased drastically. When he first started this operation, the average citizen only gave him slightly more than one mana point per day.

On top of that, Adrian had changed everyone’s training manuals once again and this one wasn’t the most optimal method but it used the mechanic of emptying one’s mana reserves before training to maximize results. This way, Adrian could also benefit from their higher than average mana.

Now, he had 1000 F rank knights, 4000 soldiers in knight training and 5000 soldiers who had just begun their training. This included the 3000 men he had just taken in and the 2000 female recruits.

Then, there was the general population of 8000 people.

F rank knights had 10 mana each, the soldiers in training who had been using the knight’s mana breathing methods had an average of 6 mana and the 5000 new trainees had an average of 2.5 mana. Meanwhile, the average of the 8000 citizens was at 2.1 mana.

This was because most of them had taken up construction jobs and due to this, their bodies were more physically fit compared to before. Though, Adrian’s free food policy helped a lot in this.

He then got the system to do the calculations for him.
